Methods A total of 573 nurses were investigated by using a questionnaire survey. Exploratory factor analysis and multiple linear hierarchical regression analysis were used for data analysis. Results The patient mistreatment scale included 16 items under two dimensions; the internal consistency coefficient of scale was 0.935;experiences of patient mistreatment of nurses had a significantly negative prediction on their job satisfaction (β=-0.482, P<0.01).
