RESUMO
O autor pretende trazer à discussão um problema atual e importante que é o encurtamento da latência. Para tanto, faz uma breve revisão teórica sobre esta importante fase do desenvolvimento com conceitos clássicos e atuais em psicanálise. Discute as alterações na construção do ego e do superego que podem ocorrer nesta fase a partir do próprio desenvolvimento intrapsíquico e das interferências socioculturais, acarretando prejuízos ao desenvolvimento destas estruturas e das defesas psíquicas próprias e necessárias para um funcionamento mental sadio(AU)
ABSTRACT
The author intends to stimulate a discussion about a current problem of our time, which is the curtailment of the latency period. For that, it is made a brief theoretical review of this important developmental phase, taking in consideration both classic and current concepts in psychoanalysis. It also discusses the changes that may occur in the Ego and Superego development because of the intrapsychic mechanisms and the socio-cultural interferences. These can bring some damages to the development to the referred structures and to the psychological defenses, both needed for a healthy mental functioning(AU)
