RESUMO
Uma excelente alternativa ao tratamento da Classe II são os aparelhos de propulsão mandibular fixos. De uma maneira geral são aparelhos que não ocasionam mudanças significativas na maxila ou mandíbula, pois promovem a correção da Classe II prioritariamente por alterações dentárias, através de um aumento da inclinação dos incisivos inferiores, diminuição da inclinação dos incisivos superiores e rotação do plano oclusal. A questão é saber se é possível usar esse tipo de dispositivo, mesmo com a compensação dentária inferior já presente, ou seja, com os incisivos inferiores vestibularizados. O objetivo deste trabalho é mostrar, através de caso clínico, o uso do propulsor mandibular com este tipo de maloclusão. (AU)
ABSTRACT
An excellent alternative to Class II treatment are fixed mandibular propulsion appliances. In general, they are devices that do not cause significant changes in the maxilla or mandible, because they promote Class II correction primarily by dental alterations through an increase in the lower incisors inclination, decrease of upper incisors inclination, and occlusal plane rotation. The question is if it is possible to use this type of device, even with the lower dental compensation already present, that is, with the lower incisors vestibularized. The objective of this study is to show through a clinical case the use of mandibular propulsion with this type of malocclusion. (AU)
