RESUMO
O objetivo desse trabalho é avaliar os possíveis efeitos da exposição crônica à planta Brugmansia suaveolens nos parâmetros comportamentais de ratos Wistar através dos testes de campo aberto e labirinto em cruz elevado. O estudo foi realizado no Centro Universitário Metodista do IPA, utilizando-se ratos machos adultos (n=32) da linhagem Wistar divididos em 4 grupos, com 8 animais, da seguinte forma: grupo controle (G1): recebeu injeções intraperitoneais de Nacl 0.9% e os grupos expostos (G2), (G3) e (G4) que receberam injeções intraperitoneais com 3 diferentes concentrações do extrato aquoso da planta: 50mg/kg, 100mg/kg e 150mg/kg, respectivamente. As injeções foram aplicadas diariamente durante 30 dias consecutivos. Após o ultimo dia de tratamento, foram feitos os testes comportamentais de labirinto em cruz elevado (Elevated Pluz Maze Test) e de campo aberto (Open Field Test). Em relação ao teste de labirinto em cruz elevado os resultados não foram significativos, quando comparamos os grupos estudados. Entretanto, o teste de campo aberto mostrou diferenças significativas entre os grupos G1 e G3 em relação aos quadrantes atravessados (p<0,037) e em relação a auto limpeza (p< 0,045), ocorreu na comparação entre os grupos G2 e G3 (p< 0,037). Os resultados desse estudo sugerem um efeito ansiolítico desta planta, no entanto, mais estudos serão necessários para elucidar melhor os efeitos crônicos ocasionados pela planta Brugmansia suaveolens. ABSTRACT: The aim of this study is to evaluate the possible effects of chronic exposure to plant Brugmansia suaveolens in behavioral parameters of Wistar rats through field tests and elevated plus maze. The study was conducted at Centro Universitário Metodista of IPA, using adult male rats (n = 32) Wistar divided into 4 groups with 8 animals, as follows: control group (G1) received intraperitoneal injections of NaCl 0.9 % and exposed groups (G2), (G3) and (G4) received intraperitoneal injections with 3 different concentrations of aqueous extract of the plant: 50mg/kg, 100mg/kg and 150mg/kg respectively. The injections were given daily for 30 consecutive days. After the last day of treatment, the tests were done behavioral elevated plus maze (Elevated Pluz Maze Test) and field (Open Field Test). Regarding test elevated plus maze results were not significant when comparing the groups. However, the open field test showed significant differences between the groups G1 and G3 regarding crossed quadrants (p <0.037) and in relation to self cleaning (p <0.045) occurred in the comparison between G2 and G3 (p < 0.037). The results of this study suggest an anxiogenic effect of this plant, however, more studies are needed to elucidate the chronic effects caused by the plant Brugmansia suaveolens. (AU)

El objetivo del presente estudio fue investigar el efecto de la administracion del extracto acuoso de Brugmansia arborea (L.) Lagerheim -floripondio-sobre algunos parámetros reproductivos en mamíferos. Ratones machos fueron tratados con 70 mg/kl/pc por 7 días, después de lo cual fueron eutanizados determinando los pesos de testículo, epidídimo e individualmente su región caudal; además, se contabilizó la concentración y malformaciones espermáticas. El peso del testículo y la cola del epidídimo disminuyeron; la concentración espermática fue menor que el control, se incrementaron las malformaciones espermáticas. Estos resultados sugieren que existe un efecto negativo de la dosis de B. arborea que alteraría la fertilidad del ratón.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of administration of aqueous extract of Brugmansia arborea (L.) Lagerheim-Angels Trumpet-on some reproductive parameters in mammals.Male mices were treated with 70 mg/kl/cw for 7 days, where they were euthanized and its testis, epididymis and its cauda region weights where determinate; so, the sperms number and its abnormalities were accounted. The testis and epididymis tail weight fell; sperm concentration was lower than control and the abnormalities rises. These results suggest that there is a negative effect of the dose of B. arborea than would alter the fertility of the mouse.
