UNLABELLED: Based on many temperament frameworks, here we propose an integration of emotional and affective temperaments (the AFECT model), forming a common substrate for mood, behavior, personality and part of cognition. Temperament is conceived as a self-regulated system with six emotional dimensions: volition, anger, inhibition, sensitivity, coping and control. The different combinations of these emotional dimensions result in 12 affective temperament types, namely depressive, anxious, apathetic, obsessive, cyclothymic, dysphoric, irritable, volatile, disinhibited, hyperthymic and euphoric. We also developed and validated a self-report scale to evaluate this construct, the Affective and Emotional Composite Temperament Scale (AFECTS). METHODS: Exploratory and confirmatory psychometric analyses were performed with the internet version of the AFECTS in 2947 subjects (72% females, 35±11years old). RESULTS: The factors interpreted as volition, anger, inhibition, sensitivity, coping and control showed very good Cronbach's alphas for 5 dimensions (0.87-0.90) and acceptable alpha for inhibition (0.75). Confirmatory factor analysis corroborated this 6-factor structure when considering inhibition as a second-order factor with fear and caution as first-order factors (SRMR=0.061; RMSEA=0.053). In the Affective section, all 12 categorical affective temperaments were selected in the categorical choice, with 99% of volunteers identifying at least one adequate description of their affective temperament. LIMITATIONS: Only the internet version was used in a general population sample. CONCLUSION: The AFECT model provides an integrated framework of temperament as a self-regulated system, with implications for mental health, psychiatric disorders and their treatment. The AFECTS showed good psychometric properties to further study this model.

Esta investigación se propone describir la producción de conocimiento en psicometría e identificar aspectos que permitan retroalimentar las políticas de formación en el área. Para ello, se recolectaron tesis y trabajos de investigación de docentes de Psicología de Bogotá y Chía desde 1960 hasta el 2009. De un total de 7.259 trabajos, se revisaron con una rejilla diseñada 241 relacionados con el área de medición. Se identificó un incipiente pero creciente interés en el área en las dos últimas décadas, y la necesidad de profundizar en la apropiación y evaluación de los modelos vigentes en teoría de los test: teoría clásica y teoría de respuesta al ítem. Se señala, desde la doble perspectiva, teórica y aplicada, de la psicometría, la necesidad de fortalecer el dominio de los modelos, criterios y procedimientos de producción de evidencias de validez y confiabilidad de las pruebas construidas o evaluadas. Se resalta también la falta de consenso en relación con la clasificación de estudios en psicometría.
The main goal of this research project is to describe the production of knowledge in psychometrics and to identify aspects that make it possible to provide feedback for the development of training policies in this area. For this purpose, 7.259 theses and research projects carried out by professors of psychology in Bogotá and Chía between 1960 and 2009 were gathered, and 241 of them, related to the field of measurement, were analyzed using a grid designed for that purpose. results showed an incipient yet growing interest in the area over the past two decades, as well as a need for further appropriation and assessment of the existing models in test theory: classical theory and item response theory. From the dual perspective of theoretical and applied psychometrics, the study indicated the need to strengthen the models domain, the criteria, and the evidence production processes for the validity and reliability of constructed or evaluated tests. The study also showed the lack of consensus regarding the classification of psychometric studies.

O livro Tests de Medeiros e Albuquerque é um importante precursor da avaliação psicológica no Brasil. A primeira edição parece ter sido em 1924. O sucesso imediato levou a publicação de várias outras edições. A manutenção do termo inglês tests denota a novidade do tema. A palavra já existia em português desde o século XVIII. Certamente, a reconhecimento de Medeiros e Albuquerque, como respeitado jornalista e político, facilitou a aceitação do livro, influenciando fortemente as políticas educacionais da época. O presente artigo está dividido em três partes. A primeira trata da passagem da psicologia experimental de processos simples (Laboratório de Windt - Leipzig) para as medidas de processos psicológicos superiores (Laboratório de Binet - Paris). A segunda descreve o caminho da avaliação psicológica da Europa para o Brasil. A terceira analisa as principais contribuições do livro Tests, entre elas a informação de que a pesquisa sobre a avaliação psicológica estava sendo realizada não mais pelos franceses, mas pelos norte-americanos. A obra é apresentada como uma acurada revisão de literatura da nova ciência psicológica, introduzindo a avaliação psicológica de modo crítico, mas de um ponto de vista favorável(AU)
