Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the bond strength of a universal adhesive to dentin (µTBS) using different time periods of airborne particle abrasion (APA) and two types of acid etching. Methods: Seventy-two human third molars were divided into 9 groups (n=8) according to dentin pretreatment: APA duration (0, 5, or 10s) and acid etching (no acid - NA, 37% phosphoric acid - PhoA, or 1% phytic acid - PhyA). APA was performed at a 0.5 cm distance and air pressure of 60 psi using 50 µm aluminum oxide particles. Afterwards, two coats of Single Bond Universal adhesive (3M) were applied to the dentin surface. Composite blocks were built using the incremental technique, sectioned into 1×1 mm slices and subjected to microtensile bond strength (µTBS) testing. Fracture patterns and surface topography of each dentinal pretreatment were evaluated using a Scanning electron microscope (SEM). Bond strength data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA and Bonferroni post-hoc tests. Results: The group that received pretreatment with 5s APA and PhoA presented higher µTBS values among all groups, which was statistically different when compared with the PhoA, 10APA+PhoA, and 5APA+PhyA groups. PhyA did not significantly influence the bond strength of the air-abraded groups. Finally, adhesive failure was considered the predominant failure in all groups. Conclusion: Dentin pretreated by airborne particle abrasion using aluminum oxide demonstrated an increase in bond strength when abraded for 5 seconds and conditioned with phosphoric acid in a universal adhesive system.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of a novel consensus bacterial 6-phytase variant (PhyG) on egg productivity, eggshell quality, and body composition of laying hens fed inorganic phosphate-free diets with reduced energy and nutrients from 23 to 72 wk of age. Five treatments were randomly assigned, performing 28 replicates per treatment with 4 hens each, totaling 560 Hy-Line W80 birds. A positive control (PC) feed was formulated to contain adequate levels of energy and nutrients. A negative control (NC) feed was formulated without added inorganic phosphate (0.12% nonphytic phosphorus [nPP]) and reduced in Ca, Na, dig AA, and metabolizable energy in comparison with PC feed. Phytase was supplemented in the NC feed at 0, 300, 600, and 900 FTU/kg of feed. The responses evaluated were performance, egg quality, economic analysis, body composition, and tibia composition. Data were analyzed by a 2-factor (diet and age) repeated measure analysis. Overall, the feed intake, hen-day egg production, egg mass, and egg revenue were reduced by the complete removal of dicalcium phosphate (DCP) (P < 0.05). Supplement phytase in the NC diet elicits a positive response on each one of those variables. Laying hens consuming the NC feed with 900 FTU/kg of phytase produced more eggs per hen-housed compared with the phytase dosages of 300 and 600 FTU/kg. Body composition was not affected by dietary nPP, Ca, Na, dig AA, and energy reductions (P > 0.05). At 72-wk-old, tibia ash was reduced in hens consuming the NC diet vs. PC (P < 0.05) and no difference was observed between hens supplemented with phytase and the PC feed. Margin over feeding cost increased in a dose-dependent manner with phytase supplementation. Supplementation with 900 FTU/kg of phytase is recommended to improve the number of eggs produced per hen-housed and the number of marketable eggs produced through 23 to 72 wk of age, under this dietary setting.

The nanoprecipitation of hydrogel nanoparticles by complex coacervation is investigated through a systematic study of the popular chitosan-polyphosphate pair of polyelectrolytes with opposite charges at pH 4. Polyphosphates of varying molar masses and electrical charges are investigated as alternatives to the commonly used tripolyphosphate, so as to assess the influence of the strength of electrostatic interactions on the fabrication possibility, the size of hydrogel particles, and their overall charge. Sodium hexametaphosphate and sodium polyphosphate allow the manufacture of such nanoparticles with either a positive or a negative charge, depending on the chitosan/polyphosphate ratio and the order of mixing. The classical way of mixing by pouring the polyphosphate solution into the chitosan solution yields microparticles. Inverting the order of mixing by pouring the chitosan solution into the polyphosphate solution allows the precipitation of negatively charged nanoparticles with diameters in the range 100-200 nm. Such charge inversion of the chitosan into negative is not possible with the common TPP. It was achieved using sodium hexametaphosphate and sodium polyphosphate having a larger negative charge. Charge inversion of chitosan allows an efficient encapsulation of positively charged proteins with an improved encapsulation efficiency than in the usual TPP-based coacervate. The encapsulation of the bovine serum albumin at pH 4 is given as a case study of a positively charged protein.

IP6 (phytic acid) is a naturally occurring compound in plant seeds and grains. It is a poly-phosphorylated inositol derivative that has been shown to exhibit many biological activities that accrue benefits in health and diseases (cancer, diabetes, renal lithiasis, cardiovascular diseases, etc.). IP6 has been shown to have several cellular and molecular activities associated with its potential role in disease prevention. These activities include anti-oxidant properties, chelation of metal ions, inhibition of inflammation, modulation of cell signaling pathways, and modulation of the activities of enzymes and hormones that are involved in carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. Studies have shown that IP6 has anti-oxidant properties and can scavenge free radicals known to cause cellular damage and contribute to the development of chronic diseases such as cancers and cardiovascular diseases, as well as diabetes mellitus. It has also been shown to possess anti-inflammatory properties that may modulate immune responses geared towards the prevention of inflammatory conditions. Moreover, IP6 exhibits anti-cancer properties through the induction of cell cycle arrest, promoting apoptosis and inhibiting cancer cell growth. Additionally, it has been shown to have anti-mutagenic properties, which reduce the risk of malignancies by preventing DNA damage and mutations. IP6 has also been reported to have a potential role in bone health. It inhibits bone resorption and promotes bone formation, which may help in the prevention of bone diseases such as osteoporosis. Overall, IP6's cellular and molecular activities make it a promising candidate for disease prevention. As reported in many studies, its anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and anti-cancer properties support its inclusion as a dietary supplement that may protect against the development of chronic diseases. However, further studies are needed to understand the mechanisms of action of this dynamic molecule and its derivatives and determine the optimal doses and appropriate delivery methods for effective therapeutic use.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of desaponification, soaking, germination, and refrigerated storage on the phytase activity, phytic acid content, and nutritional properties of three varieties of quinoa: white, red, and black. Desaponification and soaking reduced the number of minerals and the nutritional content. Germination of the seeds was carried out in the desaponified samples. The nutritional values, phytase activity, and phytic acid content of quinoa were measured after 6 h of soaking and then at 4 and 7 days during germination plus 7 days of refrigerated storage (4 °C). Germination increased the fibre and protein content as well as the iron, zinc, and calcium content. Germination significantly increased the phytase activity in all varieties and decreased the phytic acid content. The phytic acid content decreased during germination from 32 to 74%. Refrigerated storage had no significant effect on most of the factors studied. Germination boosts nutritional content and phytase activity while decreasing phytic acid content. Germination can be a simple method to reduce phytic acid in quinoa and may also improve the nutritional quality of this pseudocereal with the potential for use in functional foods and vegetarian diets.

The effects of increasing doses of bacterial phytase (Citrobacter braakii) on performance and carcass characteristics of growing-finishing pigs was evaluated. A total of 120 barrows weighing 25.16 ± 2.80 kg and 68 days old were submitted to five treatments: positive control diet (PC) containing inorganic phosphorus (P) and limestone (Ca); negative control (NC) with reductions in P (by 0.13%) and Ca (by 0.11%); and three NC diets supplemented with 1500 (NC15), 3000 (NC30) and 4500 (NC45) units of phytase (FYT)/kg. The daily weight gain (DWG) in growth phase I (68-91 days) was higher in the PC, NC15 and NC30, compared to the NC (1.06, 1.06, 1.06 vs. 0.95, respectively). The DWG in finishing phase II (141-156 days) was higher in the NC15 (1.20 kg) and NC30 (1.14 kg) than in the NC45 (0.94 kg). The final weights (LW156) in the NC15 (122.95 kg LW) were higher than NC (116.47 kg LW) and NC45 (114.43 kg LW). Over the entire period, a quadratic effect (2012 FYT) was observed for the DWG. The increasing levels of phytase in corn and soybean meal-based diets improved the DWG and carcass traits; however, the addition of more than 3000 FYT/kg of feed should be carefully studied to determine enzyme viability.

Abstract This study investigated the effect of phytic acid (IP6) in different concentrations and application times on microtensile bond strength (µTBS) and interfacial integrity of universal adhesive to deep dentin. Flat deep dentin surfaces of 48 human molars were either etched with 37% phosphoric acid (PA) for 15 sec (control); or received no acid treatment and universal adhesive was applied directly in a self-etch mode (SE); or divided according to IP6 concentration (C) into two main groups: C1, 0.5%, and C2, 1%. Specimens of IP6 groups were further subdivided into three subgroups according to application time of IP6 (T) where; T1, 15 sec; T2, 30 sec and T3, 60 sec. Single Bond Universal Adhesive was then applied and resin composite blocks were built-up. Forty Specimens were then sectioned to produce resin/dentin beams that were used for µTBS testing using a universal testing machine. The remaining eight specimens were sectioned into slabs that were immersed into ammonical silver nitrate solution and nanoleakage was observed using a field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). The results showed that the application of IP6 in 0.5% and 1% produced significantly higher µTBS and less nanoleakage compared to PA and SE groups. Also, the application of IP6 for 60 sec recorded the highest µTBS and the lowest nanoleakage followed by 30 sec, and 15 sec respectively. Therefore, conditioning of deep dentin with IP6 enhances µTBS and interfacial integrity of universal adhesive to deep dentin in comparison to PA etching or using the universal adhesive in SE mode.


Resumo Este estudo investigou o efeito do ácido fítico (IP6) em diferentes concentrações e tempos de aplicação na resistência da ligação microtensiva (µTBS) e na integridade interfacial do adesivo universal à dentina profunda. As superfícies planas de dentina profunda de 48 molares humanos foram preparadas com ácido fosfórico (PA) a 37% durante 15 seg. (controlo); ou não receberam tratamento ácido e o adesivo universal foi aplicado diretamente em modo de auto-adesivo (SE); ou dividido de acordo com a concentração de IP6 (C) em dois grupos principais: C1, 0,5%, e C2, 1%. Os espécimes dos grupos IP6 foram ainda subdivididos em três subgrupos de acordo com o tempo de aplicação do IP6 (T) em que; T1, 15 seg; T2, 30 seg e T3, 60 seg. Aplicou-se então Single Bond Universal Adhesive e construíram-se blocos compostos de resina. Quarenta espécimes foram então seccionados para produzir feixes de resina/dentina que foram usados para testes µTBS usando uma máquina de testes universal. Os restantes oito espécimes foram seccionados em placas que foram imersas em solução amoniacal de nitrato de prata e observou-se uma nano-infiltração utilizando um microscópio eletrônico de varrimento de emissões de campo (FE-SEM). Os resultados mostraram que a aplicação de IP6 em 0,5% e 1% produziu µTBS significativamente mais elevado e menos nano-infiltração em comparação com os grupos PA e SE. Além disso, a aplicação de IP6 durante 60 seg registou o µTBS mais alto e o mais baixo de nano-infiltração seguido de 30 seg, e 15 seg respectivamente. Portanto, o condicionamento da dentina profunda com IP6 melhora o µTBS e a integridade interfacial do adesivo universal à dentina profunda em comparação com a gravação de PA ou utilizando o adesivo universal no modo SE.

Crystallization occurs widely in living organisms where different organs could associate with the calcification process, such as the formation of calcium oxalate (CaOx) calculi in the urinary tract. However, the pathogenesis and the role of an inhibitor in the pathological processes involved in urolithiasis is poorly understood. Therefore, the use of phytic acid (PA) as an inhibitor for the organic fibrillar matrix is a novel approach to inhibit the formation of pathological CaOx crystals. Herein, electrospun polymer fiber meshes of polycaprolactone (PCL) with random (R) and aligned (A) fiber orientations containing PA were prepared by electrospinning, and their role as a 3D organic template in in vitro CaOx crystallization was investigated. CaOx crystals were generated on conductive tin indium oxide (ITO)-modified glass with R-PCL and A-PCL fibers in the presence of PA through an electrocrystallization (EC) procedure. This study provides a simple electrochemical approach to evaluate the role of PA as an inhibitor in the nucleation of pathological CaOx crystals. The resulting CaOx crystals were analyzed by chrono-potentiometry, optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). We found that PA and the fiber orientations are key factors in the nucleation and crystal growth of CaOx, achieving the stabilization of healthy CaOx crystal and the inhibition of the pathological crystal form.

A manutenção do sêmen suíno sob condições de refrigeração tem se destacado como uma técnica eficiente para a difusão do material genético, através dos programas de inseminação artificial. Neste sentido, a adição de várias substâncias, como antioxidantes, ao diluente vem sendo adotada na conservação do sêmen de diversas espécies domésticas. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi investigar a ação do ácido fítico adicionado ao diluente do sêmen conservado sob refrigeração, através da avaliação dos resultados de fertilidade de fêmeas suínas inseminadas. Foram utilizados quatro reprodutores (Agroceres) e setenta fêmeas para formação de lotes no decorrer de sete semanas. Os lotes de inseminação foram formados com o sêmen diluído em BTS (35 fêmeas) e BTS adicionado de ácido fítico na concentração de 525µM/100mL (35 fêmeas). Na avaliação dos resultados, considerou-se os seguintes aspectos: 1) taxa de fertilidade; 2) taxa de parição; 3) número total de leitões/parto; 4) número de leitões nascidos vivos/parto. Observou-se que as taxas de fertilidade e parição, assim como a prolificidade das porcas inseminadas com BTS e BTS adicionado de ácido fítico não diferiram estatisticamente (p>0,05). A adição do ácido fítico ao diluente BTS não influenciou os resultados reprodutivos das fêmeas suínas. Dessa forma, estudos futuros devem ser realizados a fim de avaliar a eficácia de diferentes concentrações do ácido fítico sobre a fertilidade e prolificidade de fêmeas suínas.


The maintenance of boar semen under refrigerated conditions has been highlighted as an effective technique for the diffusion of genetic material through artificial insemination programs. In this sense, the addition of several substances, such as antioxidants, to the diluente has been used in the conservation semen from various domestic species. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the action of phytic acid added to the semen extender, conserved under refrigeration by evaluating the fertility results obtained from inseminated swine females. Four boars (Agroceres), which were used for artificial insemination as semen donors, and seventy females were used to compose the lots during the seven weeks of the experiment. The insemination lots were formed with the semen diluted in BTS (35 females) and BTS added with phytic acid at 525µM/100mL (35 females). For results evaluation, the following aspects were considered: 1) fertility rate; 2) farrowing rate; 3) total number of piglets/delivery; 4) number of live birth piglets/delivery. It was observed that the fertility and farrowing rates, as well as the prolificacy of sows inseminated with BTS and BTS added with phytic acid did not differ statistically (p>0.05). The addition of phytic acid to the BTS diluent did not influence the reproductive results of swine. Therefore, further studies must be performed to evaluate the efficacy of different phytic acid concentrations on the fertility and prolificacy of sows.

Biofortification of cereal grains offers a lasting solution to combat micronutrient deficiency in developing countries where it poses developmental risks to children. Breeding efforts thus far have been directed toward increasing the grain concentrations of iron (Fe) and zinc (Zn) ions. Phytic acid (PA) chelates these metal ions, reducing their bioavailability in the digestive tract. We present a high-throughput assay for quantification of PA and its application in screening a breeding population. After extraction in 96-well megatiter plates, PA content was determined from the phosphate released after treatment with a commercially available phytase enzyme. In a set of 330 breeding lines of wheat grown in the field over 3 years as part of a HarvestPlus breeding program for high grain Fe and Zn, our assay unraveled variation for PA that ranged from 0.90 to 1.72% with a mean of 1.24%. PA content was not associated with grain yield. High yielding lines were further screened for low molar PA/Fe and PA/Zn ratios for increased metal ion bioavailability, demonstrating the utility of our assay. Genome-wide association study revealed 21 genetic associations, six of which were consistent across years. Five of these associations mapped to chromosomes 1A, 2A, 2D, 5A, and 7D. Additivity over four of these haplotypes accounted for an ∼10% reduction in PA. Our study demonstrates it is possible to scale up assays to directly select for low grain PA in forward breeding programs.

Phytate or phytic acid (PA), is a phosphorus (P) containing compound generated by the stepwise phosphorylation of myo-inositol. It forms complexes with some nutrient cations, such as Ca, Fe and Zn, compromising their absorption and thus acting as an anti-nutrient in the digestive tract of humans and monogastric animals. Conversely, PAs are an important form of P storage in seeds, making up to 90% of total seed P. Phytates also play a role in germination and are related to the synthesis of abscisic acid and gibberellins, the hormones involved in seed germination. Decreasing PA content in plants is desirable for human dietary. Therefore, low phytic acid (lpa) mutants might present some negative pleiotropic effects, which could impair germination and seed viability. In the present study, we review current knowledge of the genes encoding enzymes that function in different stages of PA synthesis, from the first phosphorylation of myo-inositol to PA transport into seed reserve tissues, and the application of this knowledge to reduce PA concentrations in edible crops to enhance human diet. Finally, phylogenetic data for PA concentrations in different plant families and distributed across several countries under different environmental conditions are compiled. The results of the present study help explain the importance of PA accumulation in different plant families and the distribution of PA accumulation in different foods.

Genome editing using CRISPR/Cas9 has been highlighted as a powerful tool for crop improvement. Nevertheless, its efficiency can be improved, especially for crops with a complex genome, such as soybean. In this work, using the CRISPR/Cas9 technology we evaluated two CRISPR systems, a one-component vs. a two-component strategy. In a simplified system, the single transcriptional unit (STU), SpCas9 and sgRNA are driven by only one promoter, and in the conventional system, the two-component transcriptional unit (TCTU), SpCas9, is under the control of a pol II promoter and the sgRNAs are under the control of a pol III promoter. A multiplex system with three targets was designed targeting two different genes, GmIPK1 and GmIPK2, coding for enzymes from the phytic acid synthesis pathway. Both systems were tested using the hairy root soybean methodology. Results showed gene-specific edition. For the GmIPK1 gene, edition was observed in both configurations, with a deletion of 1 to 749 base pairs; however, the TCTU showed higher indel frequencies. For GmIPK2 major exclusions were observed in both systems, but the editing efficiency was low for STU. Both systems (STU or TCTU) have been shown to be capable of promoting effective gene editing in soybean. The TCTU configuration proved to be preferable, since it was more efficient. The STU system was less efficient, but the size of the CRISPR/Cas cassette was smaller.

Dietary zinc (Zn) deficiency is widespread globally, and is particularly prevalent in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp) is consumed widely in LMICs due to its high protein content, and has potential for use in agronomic biofortification strategies using Zn. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Zn biofortification on grain nutritional quality of 29 cowpea genotypes. Zn application did not increase cowpea yield. In 11 genotypes sucrose concentration, in 12 genotypes total sugar concentration, and in 27 genotypes storage protein concentration increased in response to Zn supply. Fifteen genotypes had lower concentrations of amino acids under Zn application, which are likely to have been converted into storage proteins, mostly comprised of albumin. Phytic acid (PA) concentration and PA/Zn molar ratio were decreased under Zn application. Six genotypes increased shoot ureides concentration in response to Zn fertilization, indicating potential improvements to biological nitrogen fixation. This study provides valuable information on the potential for Zn application to increase cowpea grain nutritional quality by increasing Zn and soluble storage protein and decreasing PA concentration. These results might be useful for future breeding programs aiming to increase cowpea grain Zn concentrations through biofortification.

Two experiments were carried out with the objective of evaluating the effect of superdosing of two phytases on performance, egg quality, digestive organ biometry and bone quality of light hens in the first (58 weeks) and second (87 weeks) productive cycle. In the first cycle, 270 light hens were used, in which a completely randomized design was adopted in a 2 x 2 + 1 factorial scheme (bacterial phytase or fungal phytase x 450 FTUs or 900 FTUs + control diet). In the second cycle, 270 hens were used, following the same design as the previous experiment. The performance and quality of the eggs were evaluated in both cycles, and the biometry of the digestive organs and bone characteristics were also evaluated in the first experiment. There was no effect in the comparison between the means for the performance and egg quality (in both experiments), or for the biometric variables and bone characteristics (first experiment). There was no significant interaction between the factors for any of the variables in the two experiments. In the first experiment, egg production was higher with bacterial phytase and egg weight with fungal phytase. The mineral matter showed greater value with 450 FTUs. It is recommended to use bacterial phytase produced from Escherichia coli as it improves the performance of light laying hens. The dosage of 450 FTUs improves the mineral content of light laying hens and the use of phytase in the laying hen diet implies a lower feed cost.(AU)

Two experiments were carried out with the objective of evaluating the effect of superdosing of two phytases on performance, egg quality, digestive organ biometry and bone quality of light hens in the first (58 weeks) and second (87 weeks) productive cycle. In the first cycle, 270 light hens were used, in which a completely randomized design was adopted in a 2 x 2 + 1 factorial scheme (bacterial phytase or fungal phytase x 450 FTUs or 900 FTUs + control diet). In the second cycle, 270 hens were used, following the same design as the previous experiment. The performance and quality of the eggs were evaluated in both cycles, and the biometry of the digestive organs and bone characteristics were also evaluated in the first experiment. There was no effect in the comparison between the means for the performance and egg quality (in both experiments), or for the biometric variables and bone characteristics (first experiment). There was no significant interaction between the factors for any of the variables in the two experiments. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of two types of phytases (the 1st produced from Escherichia coli and the 2nd from Aspergillus oryzae) with different dosages (300 and 900 Unit Phytase or FTU) on performance, organ biometry and bone quality of replacement pullets in the period of 8 to 17 weeks of age. A total of 288 Hy-Line White laying hens were used at 8 weeks of age. A completely randomized design was adopted in a 2 x 2 factorial scheme, totaling 4 treatments with 8 replicates of 9 birds each. Performance, biometric variables and bone characteristics were evaluated. There was no significant interaction between the factors for any of the evaluated variables. The conversion and the accumulated consumption were influenced (p 0.05) by the phytase dosages, with the highest results being observed for the consumption obtained with 300 FTU, and the best results for the feed conversion obtained with the dosage of 900 FTU. The relative weight of the liver was influenced by the treatments (p 0.05), presenting higher values with bacterial phytase and a dosage of 900 FTU. The sternum length and tibial deformity were influenced by fungal phytase (p 0.05). It is concluded that the use of 900 FTU superdosing and fungal phytase improves the performance and bone characteristics of light replacement pullets.(AU)

BACKGROUND: Most agricultural soils have low zinc (Zn) content available to crops, which results in a significant decrease in productivity and in public health problems. However, the priming of potato tubers in solutions with Zn can be an effective strategy for their fortification. In order to evaluate the effect of Zn concentrations and tuber priming time on the fortification and bioavailability of Zn, potato tubers were primed in solutions containing 0, 10, 20 and 30 mg mL-1 Zn during 12, 16, 20, and 24 h, respectively. The dry matter and the content of Zn and phytic acid (PA) in tubers were assessed in order to obtain the PA:Zn molar ratio. RESULTS: Longer priming time increased the Zn content in the cortex of the tubers. High Zn concentration in the solution increased the content of Zn linearly in both the cortex and the central region of the tuber, whereas in the periderm the content levels adjusted to the non-linear logistical model, showing saturation at a minimum of 10 mg mL-1 Zn in the solution. An increase in the bioavailability of Zn was verified when there was higher Zn concentration in the solution. CONCLUSION: A substantial increase in Zn bioavailability was obtained by priming the tubers for 12 h in 10 mg mL-1 Zn. © 2019 Society of Chemical Industry.

Legumes are widely consumed by humans, being an important source of nutrients; however, they contain non-nutritional factors (NNFs), such as phytic acid (IP6), raffinose, stachyose, total phenolic compounds, condensed tannins, and flavonoids, that have negative effects on human health. Although vetches (Vicia sativa) are widely cultivated, they are not intended for human feeding due to their contents of NNF. Usually, the NNF are removed by cooking or germinating; however, germination is a process that requires extended time, and cooking may compromise the viability of some nutrients. To promote vetches for human consumption, the effect of the Instant Controlled Pressure Drop (DIC) process was studied as an alternative to cooking and germinating to decrease NNF contents. Results showed that compared to raw vetches, DIC treatment reduced total phenolic compounds (48%), condensed tannins (28%), flavonoids (65%), IP6 (92%), raffinose (77%), and stachyose (92%). These results are very similar to the ones achieved by traditional ways of removing NNF.
