RESUMO

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need to strengthen health communication in times of crisis. This study aims to analyze the media agenda of press conferences on COVID-19 in Mexico during the first two phases of the pandemic, based on journalists' questions. The study is based on framing theory. The method used was content analysis from a quantitative perspective. This method was explicitly applied to the final section of the conferences, which dealt with "questions from the press." The results show that at the beginning of the pandemic, the press was more interested in the government's management of the health crisis than in issues such as the prevention of the disease itself or the economic impact of the crisis on the country. Moreover, the main characteristic of the questions was that they were generally socially relevant. In conclusion, we found that in the media agenda of the Mexican conference, the frame of attribution of responsibility was prominent but in combination with the frames of conflict, human interest, morality, and economic consequences.

RESUMO

ResumoEste artigo discute sobre o agendamento midiático-esportivo da Copa 2014. Tem como base a cobertura jornalística da Copa 2010 feita pelo Blog do Juca. Em termos metodológicos, usa a análise de conteúdo e a análise crítica do discurso e define como base empírica as postagens e os comentários do blog. Por fim, sintetiza as principais recorrências observadas e destaca alguns dos desafios apresentados no horizonte da problemática.


AbstractThis article discusses about Cup 2014 media agenda, based on the media coverage of the World Cup 2010 made by Blog do Juca. In terms of methodology, uses content analysis and critical discourse analysis, setting posts and comments pertaining to the blog as empirical base. Finally, summarizes the main recurrences, highlighting some of the challenges presented in the problem's horizon.


ResumenEste artículo trata acerca del agendamiento mediático-deportivo del Mundial de Fútbol de 2014, basándose en la cobertura informativa del Mundial de Fútbol de 2010 llevada a cabo por el blog do Juca. En términos metodológicos, utiliza el análisis del contenido y el análisis crítico del discurso, y establece como base empírica los artículos y los comentarios del blog. Por último, resume las principales recurrencias y destaca algunos de los desafíos que se presentan en el horizonte del problema.
