Pooleagen. nov. is described for two noctuid species from southwestern United States: Pooleagrandimacula Barnes & McDunnough, comb. nov., previously in Oxycnemis Grote, and Pooleapsaphidoidessp. nov.Poolea is compared to Oxycnemis (Amphipyrinae, Psaphidini, Triocnemidina) and is retained in the same subtribe. Adult moths and male and female genitalia of Poolea species are illustrated along with those of Oxycnemisadvena Grote, the genus type species. Pertinent recent taxonomic changes to Amphipyrinae classification are reviewed.

The small LumbrineridaeGallardonerisiberica Martins, Carrera-Parra, Quintino & Rodrigues, 2012 was first described as new to science based on specimens from Portuguese waters. Then, it was successively reported from several south European areas, including Spain, Italy, Greece, and Cyprus. Here evidence is presented that G.iberica should be placed in synonymy with Lumbrinerisnonatoi Ramos, 1976, originally described from NW Mediterranean waters, a species that fits with the diagnosis of Gallardoneris. Based on specimens from the French coasts of the NW Mediterranean, this paper (1) redescribes the species using the new combination Gallardonerisnonatoi (Ramos, 1976) and (2) provides a morphometric analysis of its main morphological characters. The lack of recent reports of G.nonatoi comb. nov. in Mediterranean waters is presumably due to the recent redescription of the species as L.nonatoi based on specimens from the Gulf of Mexico. However, these specimens belong to Lumbrineris, as currently defined. By assessing their morphological differences, it is concluded that the specimens from the Gulf of Mexico represent a different and new species, namely Lumbrinerisjan sp. nov. Also discussed is the possible assignation of Lumbrinerislongipodiata Cantone, 1990, a poorly known species seldom recorded since its original description from the Gulf of Catania (Mediterranean Sea) to Gallardoneris, as well as on whether it is a valid species or may be an additional junior synonym of G.nonatoi comb. nov.

Phonotimpus padillai sp. nov. is described on the basis of morphological characteristics of both sexes: males are easily distinguished by the shape of the embolus and females by the shape of the copulatory openings. Additionally, Gosiphrurus schulzefenai Chamberlin Ivie, 1936 is transferred to the genus Phonotimpus Gertsch Davis, 1940, based on the redescription of the female and first description of the male, with an update of the diagnosis of this species.

Gymnodinium gracile, described from the coasts of Denmark in 1881, is one of the first described unarmored dinoflagellates. Individuals that morphologically fit with the original description were isolated from the English Channel (North-East Atlantic). The SSU rRNA gene sequences were identical to the sequences identified as Balechina pachydermata and Gymnodinium amphora from the Mediterranean Sea and Brazil. We propose the transfer of Gymnodinium gracile into the genus Balechina as B. gracilis comb. nov. These sequences constitute an independent lineage, clustering with numerous environmental sequences from polar to tropical waters. The widespread distribution, the high plasticity in size, shape and coloration and the difficulties in discerning the fine longitudinal striae have contributed to the description of numerous synonyms: Amphidinium vasculum, Balechina pachydermata (=Gymnodinium pachydermatum), Gymnodinium achromaticum, G. abbreviatum, G. amphora, G. dogielii, G. lohmannii (=G. roseum sensu Lohmann 1908), G. situla, and Gyrodinium cuneatum (=G. gracile sensu Pouchet 1885).

Five new species of Tersilochinae (Ichneumonidae) are described from Mexico: Meggoleus hidalgoensis sp. nov., M. whartoni Khalaim, sp. nov., Phradis belovi Khalaim, sp. nov., Stethantyx covida sp. nov., and St. oaxacana sp. nov. Meggoleus whartoni Khalaim, sp. nov. is also recorded from Panama, and St. covida sp. nov. from Guatemala. The species recently described from Mexico Probles contrerasi Khalaim & Ruíz-Cancino is transferred to the genus Gelanes Horstmann, comb. nov. A partial key to the species of Meggoleus with small propodeal spiracles and a key to Mexican species of Phradis are provided.

The recently described alpheid genus Triacanthoneus Anker, 2010 is reassessed based on new material from the Pacific and Caribbean coasts of Panama, and the southern Gulf of Mexico. Salmoneus armatus Anker, 2010 is tentatively transferred to Triacanthoneus and the latter genus is redefined. A new eastern Pacific species of Triacanthoneus is described based on a single specimen collected by scuba diving off Coiba Island on the Pacific coast of Panama. Triacanthoneus blanca sp. nov. is closely related to its only eastern Pacific congener, T. pacificus Anker, 2010, which is reported for the first time from the Las Perlas Islands in the Gulf of Panama. Morphological variation in T. toro Anker, 2010 is discussed on the basis of new topotypical material from Bocas del Toro, Panama, and a single specimen tentatively reported as T. cf. toro from Sisal, Mexico. An identification key to the seven currently known species of Triacanthoneus, with updated distributional and ecological information, as well as high-resolution colour photographs of four species are also provided.

A new genus of Languriinae, Tomolanguria Huang, gen. nov. is erected for a single species, Languria aculeata Gorham, 1887 from Mexico. It is similar to the Neotropical genus Languria Latreille, 1802. The differential diagnosis of this new genus is based on the structural features of the elytral apices and slight impressions present on each elytron. Languria aculeata is designated as the type species of the new genus. This species is redescribed and illustrated (all the three specimens examined are shown in the dorsal, ventral, and lateral views). Finally, a mimic relationship between this new genus and genus Paederus Fabricius, 1775 (Staphylinidae) is discussed.

Abstract The genus Dolichocodia Townsend, 1908 has a New World distribution with four described species: D. bivittata (Coquillett, 1902), D. erratilis Reinhard, 1958, D. furacis Reinhard, 1958 and D. rava (van der Wulp, 1891). Two new combinations are suggested for this genus: D. errans (Curran, 1927) comb. nov., and D. praeusta (van der Wulp, 1891) comb. nov. Redescriptions and lectotype designations for D. rava and D. praeusta are given. An identification key to Dolichocodia species is presented. Dolichocodia rava, described from Mexico, is newly recorded from United States.

The diagnosis of Ozineus Bates, 1863 is emended and a key is provided for the species of the genus in South America. A new synonymy is proposed for Sternacutus Gilmour, 1961 (junior synonym of Ozineus Bates, 1863), which includes a new combination for Sternacutus zikani (Melzer, 1935). Tropidozineus albidus Monné, 2009 is transferred to Ozineus.

A new genus of springtail, Sernatropiella gen. nov., from Cundinamarca province, Colombia, was found at an altitude close to 3.000 m above sea level. It is the largest Neanuridae known in the Northern part of the South American Transition Zone. It is characterized by the presence of a strong hypertrichosis, five eyes per side, very small moruliform postantennal organ and a long buccal beak. Mouth parts very thin and slender. Body with paratergal areas different from other Pseudachorutinae of the region. Thorax and abdominal segments I and II with pre- and post-segmental tergites with setae, and most remarkable is the presence of pseudocelli on head, thorax and abdomen of the type species Sernatropiella pinzonae gen. et sp. nov. A new combination for Neotropiella malkini Arlé, 1981 as Sernatropiella malkini (Arlé, 1981) comb. nov. is given and is considered as a member of the new genus.

In the second paper on New Zealand Tersilochinae (Ichneumonidae) we review two endemic New Zealand genera, Kiwi gen. nov. (eight species) and Zealochus Khalaim (three species). Nine species are described as new to science: Kiwi barrattae sp. nov., K. canterberus sp. nov., K. earlyi sp. nov., K. gronous sp. nov., K. oreteus sp. nov., K. ruzelus sp. nov., K. waitakerus sp. nov., Zealochus abominosus sp. nov. and Z. stepheni sp. nov. Zealochus gauldi Khalaim is transferred to Kiwi (comb. nov.). Identification keys to species of Kiwi and Zealochus occurring in New Zealand are provided.

As sessile organisms, bryozoans are among the commonest components of the encrusting communities on hard substrata. On unconsolidated bottoms, benthic animals and their carapaces, including mollusk shells, represent potential surfaces for encrustation. Here we describe the bryozoan fauna growing on disarticulated bivalve shells collected intertidally on Itaparica beach, Todos os Santos Bay, northeast Brazil. We examined a total of 382 valves representing seven species of bivalves, among which we found 82 valves of three bivalve species to be encrusted by bryozoans, with 109 bryozoan colonies detected overall. We identified 11 cheilostome bryozoan species, among which Phidoloporidae and Smittinidae were the most diverse, with four and two species, respectively. We redescribed two bryozoan species, Parasmittina loxoides and Rhynchozoon phrynoglossum, and describe another two, Pleurocodonellina marcusi n. sp. and Rhynchozoon itaparicaensis n. sp., as new. A new combination for Cribella triangulata Canu Bassler, 1928 is proposed, including Calyptotheca tenuata Harmer, 1957 as a new junior subjective synonym of Calyptotheca triangulata n. comb. All but one of the 11 species have encrusting colonies; Licornia aff. diadema, forms erect branching colonies. For seven of the bryozoans, ours are the first records of these species growing on shells. Although the majority of bryozoans we studied have also been reported on other substrata, Rhynchozoon brasiliensis and Parasmittina loxoides were predominant in the fauna, comprising 79 (72%) of all colonies inventoried. Due to the lack of information on the distribution of these species in northeastern Brazil, further studies are needed to determine whether they show any substratum preference.

The Tersilochinae (Ichneumonidae) from New Zealand are revised in part, with three new endemic genera and seventeen new species described: Aotearoazeus gen. nov., A. bullivantus sp. nov., A. coronetus sp. nov., A. probles sp. nov., Barycnellus gen. nov., B. aucklandellus sp. nov., B. conlisus sp. nov., B. cuvierensis sp. nov., B. globosus sp. nov., B. robustus sp. nov., Diaparsis zealandica sp. nov., Gauldiana gen. nov., G. arantia sp. nov., G. aspiringa sp. nov., G. dubia sp. nov., G. kaweka sp. nov., G. minuta sp. nov., G. nigra sp. nov., G. rotoitia sp. nov., and G. triangulata sp. nov. Zealochus postfurcalis is transferred to the genus Gauldiana (comb. nov.). The genus Diaparsis is recorded from New Zealand for the first time. Keys to genera and species of Tersilochinae occurring in New Zealand are provided.

The Tersilochinae fauna of Finland is critically revised (except subgenera Tersilochus Holmgren and Euporizon Horstmann). Tersilochinae in two principal Finnish ichneumonid collections, the Finnish Natural History Museum LUOMUS (University of Helsinki) and the private collection of R. Jussila (Turku), have been examined. Thirteen genera and 61 species are found to occur in Finland, including one new species, Barycnemis finnora Khalaim, sp. nov. The Nearctic genus Ctenophion Horstmann is recorded from Finland, as well as from the Palaearctic region, for the first time. Nineteen species are newly recorded from Finland and four species are excluded from the Finnish fauna. Barycnemis agilis (Holmgren) is transferred to the genus Spinolochus Horstmann (comb. nov.). Tersilochus sulcatus Hellén, 1958, a junior homonym of T. sulcatus Smith van Burgst, 1913, is synonymised with Phradis brevicornis Horstmann (syn. nov.). New data on distribution of 25 species in northwestern parts of Russia are also provided.

Four species of the genus Allophrys Förster, A. daklaka sp. nov., A. davichia sp. nov., A. occipitata Khalaim and A. tonkina sp. nov., and three species of Aneuclis Förster, A. achterbergi sp. nov., A. devriesi sp. nov. and A. secunda (Khalaim), comb. nov., are found to occur in Vietnam. Allophrys daklaka is also recorded from Indonesia. Male of A. secunda is recorded for the first time. This is the first record of the genus Aneuclis from Vietnam and Oriental region. Identification keys to Vietnamese species of Allophrys and Aneuclis are provided. The genus Sathropterus Förster is synonymized with Aneuclis Förster (syn. nov.), and its two species are transferred to the genus Aneuclis: A. pumilus (Holmgren), comb. nov. and A. secunda (Khalaim), comb. nov.

The genus Plagaedessa gen. n. is proposed to accommodate four species: Edessa celsa Distant and three new species: P. distanti sp. n., P. nigrovittata sp. n. and P. maranhensis sp. n. The new genus is characterized by the antennae black with the antennomer I showing a yellow spot on ventral surface, legs yellow with femora and tibiae showing two or three longitudinal black stripes, gonapophysis 9 with a sclerotized area bearing a protuberance close to gonocoxites 9 and pygophore with black posterolateral angles strongly developed. Diagnosis, illustrations of the metasternal process and external and internal genitalia, photographs of the dorsal and ventral view, and a distribution map are provided. A key to the genera of Edessinae and subgenera of Edessa, and a key to the species of Plagaedessa are also provided. Male and female genitalia of Plagaedessa celsa n. comb. are described for the first time. Distribution of P. celsa is extended to Costa Rica and Mexico. The lectotype of Edessa celsa is here designated.

A taxonomic catalog of the Amblycerus species distributed in Brazil is presented with information on deposition of types, synonymies, distributions, host plants, parasites and complete literature for each species. This catalog includes 61 species, five of them recorded for the first time for Brazil, and other seven species also recorded for other countries besides Brazil. A total of 23 species have new Brazilian states records. Two species of Spermophagus are transferred to Amblycerus: A. nigronotatus (Pic, 1952) comb.n. and Amblycerus germaini comb.n. The lectotypes of Spermophagus cistelinus Gyllenhal, 1833 and Spermophagus unimaculatus Pic, 1955 are here designated. Amblycerus species consume seeds of at least 13 host plant families. In this catalog we record new host records for seven Amblycerus species belonging to six plant families.

We examined microscope slides from Horning and Iharos tardigrade collections from Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa in Wellington and Hungarian Natural History Museum in Budapest with species of the Macrobiotus hufelandi group. Based on this material we describe one new species, Macrobiotus horningi sp. nov., and re-describe two others, M. maculatus comb. nov. Iharos, 1973 and M. rawsoni Horning et al., 1978. With the oral cavity armature of the patagonicus type and chorion of the hufelandi type, Macrobiotus horningi sp. nov. is most similar to: M. personatus Biserov, 1990, M. sandrae Bertolani & Rebecchi, 1993, M. serratus Bertolani et al., 1996, M. sottilei Pilato et al., 2012, M. terminalis Bertolani & Rebecchi, 1993 and M. vladimiri Bertolani et al., 2011, but it differs from them in morphological and morphometric traits. With eggs of the maculatus type, M. maculatus comb. nov. is most similar to: M. biserovi Bertolani et al., 1996, M. denticulatus Dastych, 2002, M. macrocalix Bertolani & Rebecchi, 1993 and M. ramoli Dastych, 2005, but differs from them in morphological and morphometric characters.

Aporinellus Banks, Austrochares Banks and Dicranoplius Haupt are new generic records for Colombia, as well as the species Dipogon ariel Banks, Evagetes peruana Banks, and Euplaniceps notabilis (Smith). Five new combinations are formally endorsed: Aimatocare argentinica (Banks), comb. n.; Aimatocare longula (Banks), comb. n.; Aimatocare imitator (Evans), comb. n.; Aimatocare impensa (Evans), comb. n.; Aimatocare vitrea (Fox), comb. n. Although these names have been used in Pompilidae, no formal nomenclatural act had been proposed. The presence of Chirodamus paramicola Roig-Alsina, previously reported with uncertainty, is confirmed. Finally, a new combination for Euplaniceps notabilis (Smith), comb. n. is proposed based on molecular phylogenetics and morphological data. The Colombian fauna of Pompilidae sums up to 38 genera and approximately 150 species.
RESUMO
Taxonomic notes and the description of a new species of Episcepsis are provided. The synonymization of Episcepsis aelia Schaus, 1889, from Mexico, under E. venata Butler, 1877, from the Brazilian Amazons, is revised. Genital morphology of males and females has shown the validity of E. aelia revis. stat. Additionally, the discovery of specimens from the Brazilian Atlantic Forest externally indistinguishable from both E. venata and E. aelia has led to the description of E. atlantica sp. nov. Finally, the following new combinations in Episcepsis are proposed: E. fumata (Rothschild), comb. nov., and E. coeruleocephala (Rothschild), comb. nov.
