RESUMO
Uma das questões candentes no que ao problema mente/corpo diz respeito - diríamos, tendo em perspectiva uma abordagem promissora para o problema mente/corpo - é a tentativa, que deve ser encorajada, de associar o materialismo reducionista à fenomenologia husserliana. Este não é certamente o caminho para um tipo de ligação que determine a exclusão do carácter específico das estratégias envolvidas, como supôs Francisco Varela, mas antes um debate que encontra a sua força na diferença entre as duas estratégias. O problema central deste artigo será, pois, o de patentear que o debate entre materialismo reducionista e fenomenologia é não apenas possível mas estritamente necessário. Observada essa primeira tarefa, procuraremos discutir, na última parte deste brevíssimo ensaio, a relação entre a fenomenologia husserliana e a Neurofenomenologia de Francisco Varela
One of the chief questions regarding the mind/body problem - we would say, regarding a hopeful approach to the mind/body problem - is the attempt, one must encourage, to bond reductive materialism and husserlian phenomenology. This is certainly not the path to a kind of connection that entails the exclusion of the specific character of the strategies involved, as Francisco Varela supposed, but a debate that finds in the difference between those two strategies its own potential. The central problem in this paper is thus to demonstrate that the debate between reductive materialism and phenomenology is not only possible, although those differences, but strictly necessary. Having this task accomplished, we will discuss in the last part of this brief essay the relation between Husserlian phenomenology and Francisco Varelas Neurophenomenology
