RESUMO
La frecuencia de presentación de la estenosis traqueal post intubación (ETPI) sigue siendo alta a pesar del uso de los tubos endotraqueales de alto volumen y baja presión, la incidencia hospitalaria parece haber aumentado cuando vemos muchos pacientes con este diagnóstico que acuden al servicio de cabeza y cuello para tratamiento definitivo. La incidencia de ETPI en pacientes de UCI está entre 6 y 21%, aunque solo 1 a 2% son sintomáticos o tienen estenosis severa. A continuación presentamos tres casos originales de nuestro Servicio y discutimos el estado del arte del manejo de ésta patología.
The frequency of presentation of the tracheal stenosis post intubation continues to be high in spite of the use of the endotracheal tubes of high volume and low pressure, the hospital incidence seems to have increased when we see many patients with this diagnosis that come to the Head and Neck Service for a definitive treatment. The incidence of ETPI in patients at ICU is between 6 and 21%, although only 1 to 2% are symptomatic or have severe stenosis. Follow three original cases of our service and a discussion on the status of the ability in managing this pathology.
