RESUMO

Visual tracking of objects is a fundamental technology for industry 4.0, allowing the integration of digital content and real-world objects. The industrial operation known as manual cargo packing can benefit from the visual tracking of objects. No dataset exists to evaluate the visual tracking algorithms on manual packing scenarios. To close this gap, this article presents 6D-ViCuT, a dataset of images, and 6D pose ground truth of cuboids in a manual packing operation in intralogistics. The initial release of the dataset comprehends 28 sessions acquired in a space that rebuilds a manual packing zone: indoors, area of (6 × 4 × 2) m3, and warehouse illumination. The data acquisition experiment involves capturing images from fixed and mobile RGBD devices and a motion capture system while an operator performs a manual packing operation. Each session contains between 6 and 18 boxes from an available set of 10 types, with each type varying in height, width, depth, and texture. Each session had a duration in the range of 1 to 5 minutes. Each session exhibits operator speed and box type differences (box texture, size heterogeneity, occlusion).

RESUMO

Several studies have examined the transmission dynamics of the novel COVID-19 disease in different parts of the world. Some have reported relationships with various environmental variables, suggesting that spread of the disease is enhanced in colder and drier climates. However, evidence is still scarce and mostly limited to a few countries, particularly from Asia. We examined the potential role of multiple environmental variables in COVID-19 infection rate [measured as mean relative infection rate = (number of infected inhabitants per week / total population) × 100.000) from February 23 to August 16, 2020 across 360 cities of Chile. Chile has a large climatic gradient (≈ 40º of latitude, ≈ 4000 m of altitude and 5 climatic zones, from desert to tundra), but all cities share their social behaviour patterns and regulations. Our results indicated that COVID-19 transmission in Chile was mostly related to three main climatic factors (minimum temperature, atmospheric pressure and relative humidity). Transmission was greater in colder and drier cities and when atmospheric pressure was lower. The results of this study support some previous findings about the main climatic determinants of COVID-19 transmission, which may be useful for decision-making and management of the disease.

Male, 47 years old, heart failure with a left ventricle ejection fraction of 17%, idiopathic heart failure. ECG with sinus rhythm, 1st degree AV block, PR 400 ms, complete right bundle branch block, anterior hemi-fascicle of the left bundle of His, and QRS duration 200 ms. We decided to perform a selective His bundle pacing. In patients with right bundle branch block the biventricular cardiac resynchronization is not indicated due to low treatment response. His bundle pacing allows recruiting the blocked branch and restoring conduction throughout it, therefore, in the absence of necrosis the biventricular synchrony is achieved. We presented a case of His bundle pacing with recruitment of the right bundle branch, which reestablish biventricular synchrony measured by speckle tracking, and with a significant increase of the left ventricle ejection fraction from 17 to 36.6%, with an absolute increase of 19.6%.

RESUMO

Ventricular tachycardia in Ebstein's anomaly patients is rare and increases the risk of sudden death up to 6 times. We present two cases of Ebstein's anomaly, the first of them with a history of Glenn surgery and biological prosthesis at tricuspid position and the second case without surgical repair. Both admitted to the emergency room due to ventricular tachycardia poorly tolerated. Detailed substrate characterization and pace mapping showed fragmented signals in the area of atrialized right ventricle and correlated were pace mapping reproduced morphology identical to the clinical VT, ablation at this sites were successful without recurrence during follow-up.

RESUMO

Group B Streptococcus (GBS) is the primary etiological agent of sepsis and meningitis in newborns and is associated with premature birth and stillbirth. The development of a licensed vaccine is one of the pending challenges for the World Health Organization. Previously, we showed that oral immunization with surface immune protein (SIP) decreases vaginal colonization of GBS and generates functional opsonizing antibodies, which was determined by opsonophagocytic assays (OPA) in vitro. We also showed that the protein has an adjuvant vaccine profile. Therefore, an oral vaccine based on SIP may be an attractive alternative to employ in the development of new vaccines against GBS. Lactococcus lactis is a highlighted oral vaccine probiotic inducer of the mucosal immune response. This bacterium could serve as an antigen-delivering vehicle for the development of an edible vaccine and has been used in clinical trials. In this study, we showed that an oral vaccine with a recombinant L. lactis strain secreting SIP from GBS (rL. lactis-SIP) can induce protective humoral and cellular immunity in an experimental model of GBS vaginal colonization in C57BL/6 mice. Mice immunized with rL. lactis-SIP were protected against clinical symptoms and bacterial colonization after GBS vaginal colonization. Our rL. lactis-SIP vaccine also induces an increase of immunoglobulin G (IgG) and immunoglobulin A (IgA) specifically against SIP. The adoptive transfer of serum from vaccinated mice to naïve mice generated protection against GBS vaginal colonization. Moreover, the rL. lactis-SIP strain induces the activation of SIP-specific T cells, which could decrease GBS vaginal colonization and generate protective antibodies when transferred to other mice. Our experimental observations strongly support the notion that rL. lactis-SIP induces protective humoral and cellular immunity and could be considered as a novel alternative in the development of vaccines for GBS.

RESUMO

The marine ecosystem of the Chilean Patagonia is considered structurally and functionally unique, because it is the transition area between the Antarctic climate and the more temperate Pacific region. However, due to its remoteness, there is little information about Patagonian marine biodiversity, which is a problem in the face of the increasing anthropogenic activity in the area. The aim of this study was to analyze community patterns and environmental characteristics of scavenging crustaceans in the Chilean Patagonian Sea, as a basis for comparison with future situations where these organisms may be affected by anthropogenic activities. These organisms play a key ecological role in marine ecosystems and constitute a main food for fish and dolphins, which are recognized as one of the main tourist attractions in the study area. We sampled two sites (Puerto Cisnes bay and Magdalena sound) at four different bathymetric strata, recording a total of 14 taxa that included 7 Decapoda, 5 Amphipoda, 1 Isopoda and 1 Leptostraca. Taxon richness was low, compared to other areas, but similar to other records in the Patagonian region. The crustacean community presented an evident differentiation between the first stratum (0-50 m) and the deepest area in Magdalena sound, mostly influenced by Pseudorchomene sp. and a marked environmental stratification. This species and Isaeopsis sp. are two new records for science. The discovery of undescribed species evidences that this region needs further studies exploring its biodiversity, which is most likely being already impacted by anthropogenic pressure.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: during gestation, the urachus represents the connection between the dome of the bladder and the allantoic duct. This infection occurs preferentially in young adults, advocating the haematogenous or lymphatic pathway as possible routes of transmission, while a cord or bladder origin may also occur. Urachal cysts are rare in adult life, and is observed in only about 2% of adults. CLINIC CASE: A 30-year-old male patient with a history of alcoholic hepatitis, diabetes mellitus type 2, chronic malnutrition, increased volume beginning with generalized abdominal pain, abdominal tumor of 20 by 15 cm, mobile, solid, without signs of peritoneal irritation. CT showed the presence of tumor, probably bladder-dependent, and apparently cystic. Exploratory laparotomy was found infected urachal cyst, draining 3,000 cc purulent material. A partial resection of the anterior face, keeping the back by firm adherence to bowel loops was done and is evolving satisfactorily. DISCUSSION: urachal abnormalities are rare, with male / female ratio of 2 / 1. Although urachal abscess is an infection confined to an enclosed space, definitive treatment should not be the simple incision and drainage, because of the possibility of malignant transformation of urachal remnants. The definitive treatment should be considered complete excision of urachal cyst, when the infection is limited. CONCLUSION: the urachus cyst is a rare pathology and is a diferencial diagnosis for acute appendicitis and it is necessary to know this treatment.

A myoelectric control system extracts information from electromyographic (EMG) signals and uses it to control different types of prostheses, so that people who suffered traumatisms, paralysis or amputations can use them to execute common movements. Recent research shows that the addition of a tuning stage, using the individual component analysis (iPCA), results in improved classification performance. We propose and evaluate a set of novel configurations for the iPCA tuning, based on a biologically inspired optimization procedure, the artificial bee colony algorithm. This procedure is implemented and tested using two different cost functions, the traditional classification error and the proposed correlation factor, which involves lower computational effort. We compare the tuned system's performance, in terms of correct classifications, to that of a system tuned using two standard algorithms, the sequential forward selection and the sequential floating forward selection. The statistical analyses of the results don't find a significant difference among the classification performances associated with the search algorithms (p < 0.01). On the other hand, they establish a significant difference among the classification performances related to the cost functions (p < 0.02).
