RESUMO

Background: Ovarian cysts originate from mature follicles that do not ovulate within the predicted time according to the oestrous cycle. Dermoid cysts are structures lined by keratinized stratified squamous epithelium, without adjacent epidermal structures, filled by keratinic debris and amorphous proteinaceus material. They are small, located below the cortex, near the hilus. There is controversy regarding the teratogenicity of the dermoid cyst. Some authors use the nomenclature of benign cystic ovarian teratoma, others, reports that although the fibrous wall and histological features are similar to teratomas, it is not associated with this germ cell-derived neoplasia. Case: Ovaries and uterus were received from a female, adult bovine, Nelore, from a slaughterhouse. The left ovary measured 6.5x5.0x3.9 cm and weighed 80 g; the right ovary measured 5.7x3.7x3.0 cm and weighed 60 g. Grossly, the ovaries were similar, presenting floating consistency, multilobulated and pointed aspect, and at the cut surface, there was extravasation of mucopurulent content of whitish colour. Regarding to the uterus, macroscopically, the uterine horns were infantile and decrease in the diameter. Fragments of the tissues were collected and fixed in 10% buffered formalin for histopathological examination and the staining of the slides was done with hematoxylin and eosin. Microscopically, in the ovaries, it was observed rare vestigial elements of ovary identifying an atresic follicle. Polycystic formation with cysts exhibiting partial or total coating of a keratinized squamous epithelium was also observed. In the lumen abundant keratinous material was present. The uterine microscopy revealed compact endometrium with areas variably infiltrated by lymphocytes, plasmocytes and occasional neutrophils. Areas devoid of endometrial glands were observed…(AU)

RESUMO

Reproductive changes can have several consequences, that extend from the absence of clinical signs toacute clinical manifestations, which may lead to the death of the animal. Considering that the reproductivesystem is possibly the most important for the survival of a species, this work seeks to report the mainoccurrences of pathological clinic, gynaecologic, care in female canines in order to obtain a correlationbetween factors such as race, age group and animal size. 700 dogs were treated inside the UFRA VeterinaryHospital, since March 2014 until August 2015.The largest number of occurrences were of uterus (51.54%),followed by breasts (37.57%), vagina / vulva (9.5%) and ovaries (1.4%). The most attended breed was SRD (>50%), 98% were adult and senile animals, and more than half were small size. The three main occurrences werebreast neoplasms (29.70%), pyometra (18.53%) and TVT (7.49%).(AU)

RESUMO

The aim of this paper is to describe the series of gynecological and obstetric clinical care in cats at theanimal hospital. Data were obtained during the sessions from March to August 2014 2015. In this work were217 cases in dogs that were verified with the help of abdominal palpation and ultrasound and biopsy materialcollection were made possible the diagnosis. It was noted that during obstetric and gynecological diagnoses thedogs met presented cases of gestation (29.49%), Pseudociese (12.44%), fetal Maceration (11.05%), fetalMummification (0.46%) of all cases. Distorcias cases were diagnosed (8.29%), physiological (2.76%) andpuerperal eclampsia (1.38%). Among physiological Diagnostics was found 1 case of anestrus and 1 of estrus. This study reinforces the lack of information regarding the use of contraception is one of the main reasons forthe occurrence of these cases described above.(AU)

RESUMO

The objective of this study was to evaluate the rate of pregnancy in cows, buffaloes in differentcategories. The present study was conducted in Agricultural Farm Bike General LTDA. Animals were kept underextensive grazing. 48 animals were used, being 8 females and females 40 Primiparous multiparous subjected toa protocol of artificial insemination in fixed time (IATF). The gestation diagnosis was carried out with 30 daysafter artificial insemination. Of 48 females inseminated, Primiparous cows Group obtained as a result 4 (50%)pregnant women and 4 (50%) not pregnant woman and multiparous cows Group 19 (47.50%) were pregnantwomen and 21 (52.50%) not pregnant women. According to the results obtained in this study by dividing thefemales for Primiparous and multiparous category, the rates of pregnancy in buffaloes was influences by cowcategory, indicating that primiparas in need of greater attention towards their nutritional requirements.(AU)

RESUMO

tThe objective was to evaluate the influence of the largest follicle diameter (DMF) in the TAI D10pregnancy rate of Nelore PO cows. 36 females were used, divided into two groups (≤ 10mm and> 10mm) in thefollowing protocol. In the D0 was introduced intravaginal P4 implant (DIB® 1g; Zoetis) and applied 2mL BE(Gonadiol®; Zoetis) IM. In D8 was removed the implant and applied 300 IU (1.5 mL) of eCG (Novormon®;Zoetis) and 2.0 mL of PGF2a (Ciosin®, Zoetis). In the D9 was applied 1mL BE (Gonadiol®; Zoetis) and 24hafter TAI was made. Females were subjected to ultrasound examination by transvaginal the D10 formeasurement of DMF. Pregnancy diagnosis was performed 30 days after TAI. Data were evaluated using SASsoftware (2009) and the pregnancy rate was compared using the chi-square test (P < 0.05). The pregnancy ratefor the group with DF ≤10 mm was 16.6% (6/36) and> 10 mm was 27.7% (10/36) with no statistical difference(P > 0.05).(AU)
