RESUMO

BACKGROUND: In contemporary society, with the accelerated pace of work and life, more and more people feel different degrees of stress. Long-term stress may not only lead to insomnia, but also to mental health problems (e.g., anxiety and depression), which has a significant impact on people's quality of life and mental health. OBJECTIVE: This study primarily investigates the mechanism through which stress affects sleep quality among college students. METHODS: We conducted research on 1653 Chinese college students using four scales with high reliability and validity: stress, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, social anxiety, and rumination. RESULTS: The study found: (1) Stress can significantly and positively predict sleep quality and rumination; (2) Rumination can positively predict social anxiety; (3) Social anxiety can positively predict sleep quality; (4) Stress can affect sleep quality through social anxiety and rumination separately, and stress can also affect sleep quality through the chained mediation of rumination and social anxiety. CONCLUSION: This study reveals the relationship and mechanisms between stress and sleep quality. It not only deepens the research on the impact of stress on sleep quality but also provides theoretical support and new methods for mental health professionals to help clients improve their sleep quality. In practice, in addition to using some common psychological intervention methods to help individuals reduce stress, we should pay more attention to how to help clients reduce rumination and social anxiety, This is significant in improving the quality of an individual's sleep.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been gradually regarded as influential indicators of various cancers. The present study aimed to identify the effects of lncRNA HOTAIR on cervical cancer progression. METHODS: RNA and protein expressions were quantified by RT-qPCR and western blot assays. Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) assay was carried out to examine the intracellular location of HOTAIR. Cancer cell viability and mobility were detected by CCK-8, colony formation, transwell and wound healing assays. Binding relationships between miR-331-3p and HOTAIR/RCC2 were validated by luciferase reporter assay. RESULTS: RT-qPCR assays showed that HOTAIR levels were notably upregulated in cervical cancer tissues and cell lines. Furthermore, a fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) assay suggested that HOTAIR was mostly located in the cytoplasm of cancer cells, indicating a sponging function. CCK-8, colony formation, Transwell and wound-healing assays indicated that knockdown of HOTAIR in HeLa and SiHa cells significantly reduced cell growth, migration and invasion. Subsequently, miR-331-3p was proven to be the target molecule of HOTAIR. In addition, results from Pearson's correlation analysis indicated negative correlation between HOTAIR and miR-331-3p in cervical cancer tissues. HOTAIR negatively modulated miR-331-3p expression. Ultimately, the target gene of miR-331-3p was verified to be RCC2, and miR-331-3p negatively modulated RCC2 expression. In addition, analysis on clinical cervical cancer tissues confirmed the negative correlation between miR-331-3p and RCC2. HOTAIR and RCC2 showed oncogenic functions in HeLa and SiHa cells, while miR-331-3p exerted the reverse effect. CONCLUSIONS: HOTAIR plays a carcinogenic role in cervical cancer by targeting the miR-331-3p/RCC2 axis. Moreover, clinical cervical cancer tissues confirmed the negative correlation between miR-331-3p with lncRNA HOTAIR and RCC2. These data suggested an underlying therapeutic target for cervical cancer.

Cultural psychology of education strives to understand the locality of the developing individual. This article tries to interpret the mission and vision of the cultural psychology of education in the background of modern society, with individualizing and techno-mechanistic social trends as its prominent feature. The concept of "contextualized individual" is proposed as a potential framework to conceptualize the relational and contextual dependence of the developing subject. The article also re-interprets Li and Xu's 2018 paper "Developmental Psychology Research Based on Educational Practice in China" to explore how to use the framework of the "contextualized individual" to theoretically channel and generalize educational researches and interventional studies in a local educational setting.
