RESUMO
The term Spondyloptosis is used to describe a grade V spondylolisthesis, being a subluxation bigger than 100%. The trauma spondyloptosis binding L5-S1 is reported the most prevalent. It is rare in the cephalad lumbar segment to the lumbosacral junction. Two cases of spondyloptosis of L4-L5 have been reported until August 2010, caused by high energy trauma, both with the L4 vertebral body presented an anterior displacement of the vertebral body of L5. We report a patient with traumatic spondyloptosis of L4-L5 caused by a high-energy mechanism. The mechanism of injury and surgical management are described and the clinical evaluation is performed with a minimum follow-up of 8 months.

Pure cultures of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans and mixed cultures of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans and Leptospirillum ferrooxidans isolated from the Matahambre mine (Cuba) were used to fit immunodiffusion and immunoelectron microscopy to the study of iron oxidizing bacteria. The possibilities, advantages and limits of those techniques have been studied from both the identification and the serological characterization points of view. Finally, the efficiency of these methods was tested by applying them to the identification of microorganisms from acidic waters from the mine.

A specific, fast and very sensitive immunoelectron microscopy method was developed to morphologically and serologically distinguish different cultures of iron oxidizers. Bacteria isolated from the acidic waters of "Matahambre" and "Mina Delita" mines (Cuba) were characterized. An antiserum specific to Thiobacillus ferrooxidans did not react with other bacteria also present in the acidic waters of mine drainage. Our results suggest the occurrence of some strains of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans, Thiobacillus thiooxidans and Leptospirillum ferrooxidans in these waters.

Las dentaduras artificiales para ninos cumplen un papel muy importante cuando hay perdida prematura de dientes, ya sea en la denticion temporal, mixta o permante joven ayundando no solo a restablecer la funcion masticartoria, sino tambien previniendo el establecimiento de maloclusiones en una epoca en que la denticion esta sometida a cambios radicales por el crecimiento y desarrollo de los arcos dentarios. Es importante su accion preventiva en la aparicion de habitos orales inconvientes y trastornos de la personalidad. Se comentan en este articulo las indicaciones, objetivos y tecnicas fundamentales en la colocacion de dentaduras artificiales para ninos que han perdido total o parcialmente sus dientes a una edad temprana
