RESUMO
The pediatrician plays a very important role assisting the dental profession for the education of the parents to prevent oral disease and maintain children's oral health. This study shows the results obtained in a survey with 100 pediatricians from different institutions and universities of Mexico, in order to analyze their knowledge on basic dental care. The results will be utilized to prepare a guide that will show to pediatricians the basic concepts that parents should know about prevention of caries, malocclusions, and the teaching of correct oral habits from early years for their children.

In this paper we analyze the type and frequency of malocclusions in a group of 100 health children with complete primary dentition. Bjork's method for epidemiological registration was taken as a basis. Of the examined children, 78% had some malocclusion type. The most frequent was the increased horizontal overbite. In vertical overbite relation we find anterior open bite, increased overbite, anterior open bite, increased overbite.

This prospective, 30-month study evaluates mouth restorations performed under general anesthesia on 219 patients at the Stomatology Unit of the National Institute of Pediatrics. The authors analyze characteristics of patients, treatments performed and complications.
