RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: We conducted a comparative ergonomic study of a new workplace station (MSILT) and a standard wooden industrial workbench. METHODS: First, we used the OWAS method to evaluate the highest risk tasks. Next, we used human digital simulation in a virtual environment to evaluate stress on low back and joint load. We also performed a comparative analysis using the Siemens Jack software. RESULTS: There was an overall reduction in exposure to physical loads. Awkward postures decreased from a category 4 (harmful) to category 1 (neutral) risk level. There was also a reduction in static loads on the joints and intradiscal loading to below the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) recommended level of 3400 N. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated the feasibility of the new MSILIT and that it can be implemented in the hydrocarbons industry.

OBJETIVO: Realizar un análisis ergonómico comparativo de un nuevo dispositivo diseñado (MSILT) con el Banco MTN actual. MÉTODOS: Por medio de OWAS se evaluaron las tareas con mayor riesgo, luego se realizó la simulación digital humana en un entorno virtual y se evaluaron los esfuerzos y la carga estática articular. Asimismo, se realizó un análisis comparativo utilizando el software Jack de Siemens. RESULTADOS: Se obtuvo una reducción a la exposición de riesgos de carga física, se pasó de posturas que pueden tener efectos dañinos sobre el sistema musculoesquelético (categoria 4) a posturas neutrales (categoría 1). También se redujo la carga estática en las articulaciones y la carga intradiscal por debajo del valor límite de 3400 N según la National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). CONCLUSIONES: El estudio establece que la propuesta de diseño del dispositivo (MSILIT) es viable y puede ser implementada en aquellas empresas del sector de hidrocarburos.
