RESUMO

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the water column in the survival of larvae ofBetta splendens. The experiment was conducted in zoology laboratory of the Universidade Federal do Piauí,Campus Professor Cinobelina Elvas, in the city of Bom Jesus. They used 15 couples Betta splendens ofreproductive age and 15 plastic circular tanks translucent with conical bottom with a capacity of 10L of waterbeing measured at 28, 12 and 8 cm of water column. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomizeddesign with 3 treatments and 5 replicates per treatment, the results were submitted to variance analysis at thelevel of 5.0%, and the averages compared by Tukey test through BIOESTAD 5.0. The results show that forreproduction Betta splendens can be used water column 8 cm in this experiment.(AU)

RESUMO

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of weight Betta splendens females and the numberof eggs and larvae from breeding tanks. The experiment was conducted in zoology laboratory of theUniversidade Federal do Piauí, Campus Professor Cinobelina Elvas, in the city of Bom Jesus. We used 15couples Betta splendens of reproductive age and made you biometrics weight and meeting the players. Theexperiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with 3 treatments the levels of the water column ofbreeding tanks and 5 replicates per treatment, the results were submitted to variance analysis at the level of5.0%, and the averages were compared by Tukey test through BIOESTAD 5.0. The greater the weight of thefemale greater the number of larvae Betta splendens. To obtain more larvae Betta splendens the farmer can usebreeding greater size or weight.(AU)

Toxic plants that affect ruminants bother animal breeders and responsible for the animal production, also considering the fact that most of the cases are only of popular knowledge, without study and / or practices to decrease the poisoning rates. Thus, a research project was developed to learn more about toxic plants that affect ruminants in the region, talking to producers, veterinarians, animal husbandry or agronomists on farms. It was observed that in the visited properties little is known about toxic plants and its severity and in those properties which a person is responsible for producing and understands about the subject, actions are not taken to avoid losses due to diseases associated with intoxication plants.
