RESUMO
This work aimed to report a case of melanoma in an equine of the Mangalarga Marchador breed, grey haird, 15 years old and necropsied in the Pathology Sector of the Medicine Veterinary Department of the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE) in September 2007. In this case report, the emphasis was in the clinical signs, laboratorial exams such as haemogram, aspirative cytology and histopathology, treatment method with cysplatine and the necroscopic findings. The animal had nodules of variables sizes, of blackened coloration, distributed in different regions of the body, such as the lateral faces and dorsal region of the neck, foreskin, inguinal and perianal regions, the lower surface of the tail, retropharyngeal and inguinal lymphonodes, besides musculature.
Neste trabalho, objetivou-se relatar um caso de melanoma em um equino da raça Mangalarga Marchador, de pelagem tordilha, com 15 anos de idade e necropsiado no Setor de Patologia do Departamento de Medicina Veterinária da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE) em setembro de 2007. Neste relato de caso, enfatizam-se os sinais clínicos; os exames laboratoriais, tais como o hemograma, citologia aspirativa e histopatologia, o tratamento com a cisplatina e os achados necroscópicos. O animal apresentava nódulos de tamanhos variáveis, de coloração enegrecida, distribuídos em diferentes regiões do corpo como nas faces laterais e dorsal da região do pescoço, no prepúcio, no escroto, nas regiões inguinal e perianal, face inferior da cauda, linfonodos retrofaríngeos e inguinais e na muscu-latura.
