RESUMO

The data presented in this article are complementary material to our work entitled "A decision support system for prioritization of patients on surgical waiting lists: A biopsychosocial approach". We prepared, together with physicians, a survey was used in the otorhinolaryngology unit of the Hospital of Talca for a period of five months, between February 05, 2018 and June 29, 2018. Two hundred and five surveys were collected through 20 biopsychosocial criteria, which allowed measuring the priority and vulnerability of patients on the surgical waiting list. The data allow choosing and preparing patients for surgery according to both a dynamic score and a vulnerability level.

Network science enables us to improve the performance of complex systems such as traffic, communication, and power grids. To do so, it is necessary to use a well-constructed flawless network dataset associated with the system of interest. In this study, we present the dataset of the Chilean power grid. We harmonized data from three diverse sources to generate a unified dataset. Through an intensive review on the raw data, we filter out inconsistent errors and unrealistic faults, making the data more trustworthy. In contrast to other network dataset for power grids, we especially focus on preserving the physical structure of nodes' connection incorporating the 'tap' structure. As a result, we provide three different versions of the dataset: 'with-tap', 'without-tap', and 'reduced versions'. Along with structure, we incorporate various attributes of the nodes and edges such as the geo-coordinates, voltage of transmission lines, and the time series data of generation or consumption. These data are useful for network scientists to analyze the performance and dynamic stability of power grids.

The Golgi apparatus is well-known for its role as a sorting station in the secretory pathway as well as for its role in regulating post-translational protein modification. Another role for the Golgi is the regulation of cellular signaling by spatially regulating kinases, phosphatases, and GTPases. All these roles make it clear that the Golgi is a central regulator of cellular homeostasis. The response to stress and the initiation of adaptive responses to cope with it are fundamental abilities of all living cells. It was shown previously that the Golgi undergoes structural rearrangements under various stress conditions such as oxidative or osmotic stress. Neurodegenerative diseases are also frequently associated with alterations of Golgi morphology and many stress factors have been described to play an etiopathological role in neurodegeneration. It is however unclear whether the stress-Golgi connection plays a role in neurodegenerative diseases. Using a combination of bioinformatics modeling and literature mining, we will investigate evidence for such a tripartite link and we ask whether stress-induced Golgi arrangements are cause or consequence in neurodegeneration.
