RESUMEN

We report a comorbid patient after redo Frozen Elephant Trunk procedure followed by recurrent infection of thoracic aortic prosthesis, deep sternal wound infection and extensive soft tissue defect. Closure with skin-muscle thoracodorsal flap and graft-sparing technique with omentoplasty is an alternative to total graft replacement for thoracic aortic graft infection in comorbid patients with concomitant extensive defect of the chest wall or recurrent infection in early postoperative period.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the effectiveness of vacuum-assisted closure system for esophageal anastomotic leakage. MATERIAL AND METHODS: There were 10 patients with upper gastrointestinal anastomotic leakage who were treated at our institution in 2015-2018. Vacuum aspiration system was applied in all cases. RESULTS: Esophageal wall defect was successfully closed in 9 out of 10 patients after 2-4 courses and the system was eliminated in 11 days on the average. Localized cavity with granulation tissue developed in 1 patient after 5 courses and the system was also eliminated. CONCLUSION: Endoscopic vacuum-assisted therapy is an innovative, minimally invasive, economically profitable and successful method for anastomotic leakage. This procedure should be taken into consideration and widely used in multi-field hospitals.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE To discuss the sterilizing effect of waste gas discharged from hospital central vacuum aspiration system. METHODS According to the characters that direct discharging these waste gases from the central vacuum aspiration system would pollute surrounding environment and that there could not be choke in the venting part of vacuum pump of this system, the method of nanometric photocatalysis was adopted to sterilize the waste gases. RESULTS The average number of colony in the engine room was 2473.67?98.23CFU/m~3 before sterilization. After 1h and 2h of sterilizing, there were 88?17.6 CFU/m~3 and 58.76 ?12.34 CFU/m~3,respectively,with significant difference. CONCLUSIONS It is effective to use the method of nanometric photocatalysis sterilizing the waste gases from the hospital central vacuum aspiration system. The rate of the sterilization is 99.99%.
