RESUMEN

There are three stages in the professionalization process for nurses, within which academic training and nursing science are developing. The evolution of initial training and the 2025 referential will require an integrative alternation that will reinforce skills. The professionalization of students should be based on the analysis of professional practices, in a caring and ecological environment for individuals.

RESUMEN

This article examines the integration of a Clinical Nurse Reasoning (CNR) model into advanced nursing practice training to develop the clinical reasoning skills of advanced practice nurses. The article explores the contribution of Callista Roy's conceptual model of adaptation and presents a global analysis of a complex care situation that justifies the introduction of an CNR model paired with nursing knowledge to ensure comprehensive, quality nursing care.

RESUMEN

While the Ministry of Health has been communicating for several months about the launch of the reform of the nursing profession, work finally began in mid-2023 in the field of practice, to  efine the new perimeters to be covered for the profession of tomorrow. At the same time, the move towards university-based initial nursing training, which began in 2009, is continuing, with discussions starting at the end of 2023 on educational engineering, selection procedures, placements, student rights, the fundamentals of research teaching, etc. Between increasing skills and the associated responsibilities, and establishing a disciplinary field, the development of the profession is part of a gradual historical construction.

RESUMEN

Nursing is recognized worldwide as an academic discipline. However, if we look at nursing training in Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Switzerland, this does not appear to be the case. Disparities persist not only in terms of initial training, but also in graduate and post-graduate training. This underlines the difficulties of establishing and recognizing nursing as an academic discipline in the French-speaking European area.

RESUMEN

Jean Watson developed, in the United States, a conceptual model of nursing based on caring. A term sometimes translated as "to care" without properly reflecting what the concept entails. This theory has been adopted in many countries. Some authors report that it brings satisfaction to students, nurses, and managers of health facilities. Based on Watson's work, Chantal Cara built the humanist model of nursing at Montreal University. The aim of the project is to improve the well-being of patients and caregivers. It is likely to retain existing nurses and attract the next generation to the institutions which implement it.

RESUMEN

The Litterapsy study focuses on the assessment of health literacy in patients with psychiatric disorders, a field that has been little studied in France. It is based on the observations of an advanced practice nurse specializing in psychosocial rehabilitation. Its aim is to provide objective data to better understand how these patients understand medical information and navigate the healthcare system.

RESUMEN

Nursing education is stressful and vulnerable. Students, like high-level athletes, are subject to performance objectives. In addition to the educational support systems, tools can be offered to students to prevent and treat the effects of stress in training. Hypnosis, practiced by a trained health professional, is a vector of change and a source of learning. It can help students reduce stress and regulate their emotions by activating their personal resources.

RESUMEN

Programs to reduce the use of coercive measures emphasize the importance of patient involvement in their care and the use of formalized tools. An adult psychiatric care admission unit offers a specific tool to the hospitalized patient: the "Preventive Emotion Management Questionnaire", as soon as the patient is admitted to the unit. Thus, in case of a crisis period, caregivers will know what the patient's wishes are, which will facilitate the implementation of a care partnership, guided by two nursing theories.

This article aims to present an overview of nursing research in France. To this end, it will be structured according to three main themes: research activity based on 3 original studies, the promotion of research, and knowledge management and transfer. In France, the challenges of nursing research are rich and varied but must give rise to several points of reflection. While there are more and more French nurse researchers, research themes are still mainly influenced by research funding. In addition, they are also chosen according to the researcher's personal interests. Finally, the gap between theory and practice exists as in all countries and the reinvestment of research into practice seems to be a general problem. It seems that universitarisation and in particular the creation of dual membership positions should undoubtedly help to reduce this gap between theory and practice.(AU)

Il semble que l’universitarisation et notamment la création de corps bi-appartenants devrait sans doute contribuer à réduire ce fossé entre théorie et pratique.(AU)

RESUMEN

Education in nursing science began in Canadian universities in 1919. Thanks to inter-university groups, it has never stopped evolving, making it possible to delimit and define different nursing knowledge. All stakeholders work together to meet the complex socio-political issues that affect the profession.

RESUMEN

Advanced nursing practice is now established in French law. Master's degree courses in nursing exist in several universities and the first advanced practice nurses are entering the field of care with greater autonomy and competence. Nurses working in mobile palliative care teams (MPCT) have carried out research to clarify the nursing position in MPCT. Although little is known, support for healthcare teams is considered to be the backbone of the nursing role in MPCT.

RESUMEN

At once time devoted to medical projects, clinical research in paediatrics opened up to nursing protocols when funding became available to paramedical professionals. Structures are now in place to help researchers carry out their project. The recognition of nursing sciences at university is thereby likely to result in support for such research approaches.

RESUMEN

ABSTRACTWe examined ageist beliefs, attitudes, and knowledge towards sexuality in later life among 148 nursing students and 137 social work students in their first year of studies. The students completed the Fraboni Scale of Ageism, the Attitudes and Knowledge towards Older Adults' Sexuality Scale, and questionnaires regarding contact with older adults, prior sexual education, and socio-demographics. The results indicated that nursing students have more conservative attitudes towards older adults' sexuality. Ageist beliefs correlated positively with more conservative attitudes towards older adults' sexuality. These conservative attitudes 'were negatively correlated with knowledge about sexuality in later life. Older students have more knowledge about sexuality in later life and more permissive attitudes towards older adults' sexuality. Religious students have less knowledge, and more conservative attitudes, towards older adults' sexuality. Previous sexual education was not associated with the students' attitudes and knowledge towards older adults' sexuality. Implications for designing continuing education programs are discussed.

RESUMEN

The concept of coordination in the field of care needs to be clarified in order to improve understanding. A literature review has identified six attributes of coordination in nursing care: it is centred on the person, is characterised by pro-active planning, cross-disciplinarity, correlation, sharing and facilitation.

RESUMEN

The qualitative case study is a research method which enables a complex phenomenon to be explored through the identification of different factors interacting with each other. The case observed is a real situation. In the field of nursing science, it may be a clinical decision-making process. The study thereby enables the patient or health professional experience to be conceptualised.

RESUMEN

Nursing science's body of knowledge is mainly composed of the results of qualitative studies which, since the 1970s, have contributed notably to improving understanding of patients' experiences. This abundant scientific literature enables reviews to be carried out with the aim of producing solid theories. Meta-synthesis is a methodology which was created for this purpose. The theories which it produces constitute reference frameworks for researchers wishing to develop innovative nursing procedures and to test them within the context of clinical studies.

RESUMEN

The concept represents a fundamental element within a discipline. It is therefore essential to have specific, operational definitions of concepts for all areas of activity in nursing care. The concept analysis methodology is a rigorous way of ensuring this objective is achieved.

RESUMEN

The concept of social exclusion has been proposed as an important social determinant of health. However, use of the concept in health and health promotion research is in its infancy. In nursing discourse, in particular, exploration and application of the concept of social exclusion is minimal. The purpose of this article is to explore the relevance of the concept of social exclusion in the development of nursing knowledge. Current knowledge regarding social exclusion is examined and its use in health-related research is explored. To conclude, a conceptualization of social exclusion for the development of nursing knowledge is proposed.
