RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Loneliness is widespread and has negative health consequences. The present study seeks to answer the following questions: (1) how many people in Germany are highly lonely, (2) how has loneliness changed in Germany over time-in particular with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic, and (3) how is loneliness distributed regionally in Germany today? METHODS: The present study uses data from the 2013, 2017, and 2021 waves of the Socio-Economic Panel, a population representative panel study from Germany. Based on the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) loneliness scale, we estimate prevalences for high loneliness for different risk groups in Germany. Further, using multi-level models, we estimate the changes in loneliness from 2013 to 2021. Finally, we generate regional maps to display the relative regional distribution of loneliness in Germany over the three assessment waves. RESULTS: The results show that around 2% of all people living in Germany are highly lonely, and this proportion has not changed during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, mean overall loneliness in Germany increased in the last decade, particularly during the pandemic. Additionally, the regional distribution of loneliness also changed. While eastern Germany was particularly affected by loneliness in 2013, western Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatine, and Hesse were the most affected regions during the pandemic. DISCUSSION: Reasons for these changes could be structural changes in the German society over the past 10 years or the COVID-19 pandemic and the different measures implemented to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus. However, since the latest representative data on loneliness stems from 2021, further data collection is urgently needed to depict the current state of loneliness in Germany.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: The WHO's global hepatitis strategy aims to achieve viral hepatitis elimination by 2030. Migrant children and pregnant persons represent an important target group for prevention strategies. However, evidence on the burden of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) infection and the factors affecting its incidence is lacking. METHODS: EMBASE, Global Health, Global Index Medicus, Web of Science and Medline were searched for articles in any language from 1 January 2012 to 8 June 2022. Studies reporting CHB prevalence, disease severity, complications and/or prevention strategies, including vaccination, prevention of vertical transmission and access to care/treatment for migrant children and pregnant migrants, were included. Pooled estimates of CHB prevalence and hepatitis B vaccination (HBV) coverage among migrant children were calculated using random effects meta-analysis. FINDINGS: 42 studies were included, 27 relating to migrant children and 15 to pregnant migrants across 12 European countries, involving data from 64 773 migrants. Migrants had a higher incidence of CHB than host populations. Among children, the pooled prevalence of CHB was higher for unaccompanied minors (UAM) (5%, [95% CI: 3-7%]) compared to other child migrants, including internationally adopted children (IAC) and refugees (1%, [95% CI: 1-2%]). Region of origin was identified as a risk factor for CHB, with children from Africa and pregnant migrants from Africa, Eastern Europe and China at the highest risk. Pooled estimates of HBV vaccine coverage were lower among UAM (12%, [95% CI: 3-21%]) compared to other child migrants (50%, [95% CI: 37-63%]). CONCLUSION: A range of modifiable determinants of HBV prevalence in migrant children and pregnant persons were identified, including sub-optimal screening, prevention and continuum of care. There is a need to develop evidence-based approaches in hepatitis care for these groups, thereby contributing towards global viral hepatitis elimination goals.

RESUMEN

What is already known on this topic?: Foodborne diseases present a substantial global health risk. Traditional diagnostic methods have constraints, but advancements in molecular techniques, like quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR), provide a hopeful solution. What is added by this report?: We examined 1,011 stool samples from individuals suspected of foodborne illnesses. Our analysis indicated a significant presence of Clostridium perfringens, Salmonella enterica, enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC), and adenovirus. Notably, co-infections were identified in 71.22% of the samples. What are the implications for public health practice?: The data emphasize a notable prevalence of co-infections, highlighting the complexity of foodborne illnesses. This study underscores the significance of utilizing contemporary diagnostic methods in densely populated urban areas such as Beijing Municipality.

RESUMEN

Background: Many studies have identified health inequalities in childhood and adolescence. However, it is unclear how these have developed in recent years, particularly since the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Analyses are based on the German data from the international Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study from 2009/10 (n = 5,005), 2013/14 (n = 5,961), 2017/18 (n = 4,347), and 2022 (n = 6,475). A total of 21,788 students aged approximately between 11 and 15 years were included. Socioeconomic status (SES) was assessed using the Family Affluence Scale (FAS). Several health indicators were analysed stratified by gender using bivariate and multivariate analysis methods. Results: In 2022, there are clear socioeconomic inequalities in life satisfaction, self-rated health, fruit and vegetable consumption, and physical activity. These inequalities remained largely constant or increased between 2009/10 and 2022. Between 2017/18 and 2022, no significant changes in inequalities were found. Conclusions: Health inequalities are persistent and reduce the chances of growing up healthy. There is no evidence that inequalities in the analysed outcomes have changed during the pandemic period (between 2017/18 and 2022). Rather, the changes in the health indicators seem to affect all adolescents in a similar way.

RESUMEN

Background: Health literacy (HL) encompasses knowledge and skills for dealing critically and confidently with health information in individual and social contexts. Current studies show that a high proportion of children and adolescents have limited health literacy, depending on aspects of their social background. Health literacy is considered an important factor influencing health. Little is known about the development of health literacy over time and its connection with psychosomatic complaints in young people. Methods: Based on the results of the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study, this article focusses on the level of HL in 11-, 13-, and 15-year-old students (N = 6,475) over time and taking social differences into account. Finally, the relationship between HL and psychosomatic complaints is analysed. Univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses were carried out for this purpose. Results: At 24.4 %, slightly more students have low HL in 2022 than in 2017/18 (21.4 %). There are differences in HL according to gender, age, type of school, and family affluence. Low HL is associated with a high psychosomatic burden. Conclusions: The results highlight the need for target group-specific measures to promote young people's HL, which address individual and organisational aspects of HL.

RESUMEN

Background: Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) is one of the largest international studies on child and adolescent health and cooperates with the World Health Organization (WHO). In Germany, adolescents aged 11, 13 and 15 are surveyed every four years about their health, health behaviour and social conditions. This article describes the HBSC study and in particular the methodology of the current 2022 survey and prior surveys conducted between 2009/10 and 2017/18. Method: 174 schools with a total of 6,475 students participated in the 2022 survey. The survey was conducted using questionnaires and covered a wide range of topics (including mental health, physical activity, bullying experiences, social determinants of health and experiences related to COVID-19). The 2022 survey was complemented by a school principal survey (N = 160). In addition to the current sample, the samples of the three previous surveys with representative data for Germany are presented: 2009/10 (N = 5,005), 2013/14 (N = 5,961) and 2017/18 (N = 4,347). Discussion: The health of children and adolescents is of great public health importance. The HBSC study makes a substantial contribution by providing internationally comparable results, analysing trends, and providing stakeholders with comprehensive and representative health monitoring data.

RESUMEN

Background: Subjective health and well-being are important health indicators in childhood and adolescence. This article shows current results and trends over time between 2009/10 and 2022. Methods: The Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study examined subjective health, life satisfaction and psychosomatic complaints of N = 21,788 students aged 11 to 15 years in the school years 2009/10, 2013/14, 2017/18 and in the calendar year 2022. Multivariate regression analyses show the associations between sociodemographic characteristics and well-being in 2022, as well as trends since 2009/10. Results: The majority of children and adolescents indicate a good subjective health and high life satisfaction. About half of the girls and one third of the boys report multiple psychosomatic health complaints, with a clear increase over time. Older adolescents, girls and gender diverse adolescents are at an increased risk of poor well-being. Subjective health and life satisfaction varied between 2009/10 and 2022, with a significant deterioration between 2017/18 and 2022. Conclusions: The high proportion of children and adolescents with psychosomatic complaints, as well as the observed gender and age differences, underline the need for target group-specific prevention, health promotion and continuous health monitoring.

RESUMEN

Understanding and monitoring the major influences on SARS-CoV-2 prevalence is essential to inform policy making and devise appropriate packages of non-pharmaceutical interventions. Through evaluating community level influences on the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 infection and their spatio-temporal variations in England, this study aims to provide some insights into the most important risk parameters. We used spatial clusters developed in Jahanshahi and Jin (2021 Transportation 48, 1329-1359 (doi:10.1007/s11116-020-10098-9)) as geographical areas with distinct land use and travel patterns. We also segmented our data by time periods to control for changes in policies or development of the disease over the course of the pandemic. We then used multivariate linear regression to identify influences driving infections within the clusters and to compare the variations of those between the clusters. Our findings demonstrate the key roles that workplace and commuting modes have had on some of the sections of the working population after accounting for several interrelated influences including mobility and vaccination. We found communities of workers in care homes and warehouses and to a lesser extent textile and ready meal industries and those who rely more on public transport for commuting tend to carry a higher risk of infection across all residential area types and time periods.

RESUMEN

Fascioliasis causes high economic losses in livestock and underlies public health problems in rural areas, mainly of low-income countries. The increasing animal infection rates in Bangladesh were assessed, by focusing on host species, different parts of the country, and rDNA sequences. Fasciolid flukes were collected from buffaloes, cattle, goats and sheep from many localities to assess prevalences and intensities of infection. The nuclear rDNA internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region including ITS-1 and ITS-2 spacers was analyzed by direct sequencing and cloning, given the detection of intermediate phenotypic forms in Bangladesh. The 35.4% prevalence in goats and 55.5% in buffaloes are the highest recorded in these animals in Bangladesh. In cattle (29.3%) and sheep (26.8%) prevalences are also high for these species. These prevalences are very high when compared to lowlands at similar latitudes in neighboring India. The high prevalences and intensities appear in western Bangladesh where cross-border importation of animals from India occur. The combined haplotype CH3A of Fasciola gigantica widely found in all livestock species throughout Bangladesh fits its historical connections with the western Grand Trunk Road and the eastern Tea-Horse Road. The "pure" F. hepatica sequences only in clones from specimens showing heterozygotic positions indicate recent hybridization events with local "pure" F. gigantica, since concerted evolution did not yet have sufficient time to homogenize the rDNA operon. The detection of up to six different sequences coexisting in the cloned specimens evidences crossbreeding between hybrid parents, indicating repeated, superimposed and rapidly evolving hybridization events. The high proportion of hybrids highlights an increasing animal infection trend and human infection risk, and the need for control measures, mainly concerning goats in household farming management. ITS-1 and ITS-2 markers prove to be useful for detecting recent hybrid fasciolids. The introduction of a Fasciola species with imported livestock into a highly prevalent area of the other Fasciola species may lead to a high nucleotide variation in the species-differing positions in the extremely conserved fasciolid spacers. Results suggest that, in ancient times, frequent crossbreeding inside the same Fasciola species gave rise to the very peculiar characteristics of the present-day nuclear genome of both fasciolids.

RESUMEN

Objective:To investigate the prevalence and related factors of chronic kidney disease (CKD).Methods:A total of 42 223 subjects who received annual physical examination from January to December 2019 were selected as the research objects, a cross-sectional study was conducted. They were divided into CKD patients and healthy control groups. The basic information of the subjects was collected by questionnaire, including age, sex, marital status, education level, smoking history, drinking history, physical exercise and previous disease history, etc. The height, weight, waist circumference and blood pressure of the subjects were measured through physical examination, and laboratory indicators including fasting blood glucose, total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, blood uric acid, creatinine and urine routine were collected. The influencing factors of CKD were analyzed by logistic regression. Results:A total of 42 223 subjects were included in the study. The prevalence of CKD was 5.62%, with 7.77% in males and 3.39% in females. The prevalence of CKD increased with age. The prevalence of CKD was the highest in ≥80 years old (25.84%), followed by 70-79 years old (13.08%), the prevalence of CKD in males was higher than that in females in all age groups. Most of the detected CKD patients were in the early stage (stage 1-2), and the total prevalence of early CKD was 5.13%, and the total prevalence of stage 3-5 was 0.49%. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age 70-79 years old ( OR: 1.63, 95% CI: 1.17-2.27),≥80 years old ( OR: 0.82, 95% CI: 2.61-5.91), male ( OR: 1.55, 95% CI: 2.61-5.91), high diastolic blood pressure ( OR: 1.014, 95% CI: 1.007-1.021), high fasting blood glucose level ( OR: 1.22, 95% CI: 1.17-1.27), SUA ( OR: 1.001, 95% CI: 1.000-1.002), hypertension ( OR: 1.44, 95% CI: 1.23-1.68), coronary heart disease ( OR: 1.36, 95% CI: 1.10-1.69) and stroke ( OR: 1.63, 95% CI: 1.09-2.43) were independent risk factors for CKD (all P<0.05); Physical activity 15-30 min/day ( OR: 0.81, 95% CI: 0.71-0.93),>60 min/day ( OR: 0.82, 95% CI: 0.70-0.96) was a protective factor for the prevalence of CKD (all P<0.05) Conclusion:The prevalence of CKD in the health check-up population is low, and most of them are in the early stage of the disease. The prevalence of CKD is related to male, old age, physical exercise, elevated diastolic blood pressure, elevated blood glucose, elevated blood uric acid, hypertension, coronary heart disease, and stroke.

RESUMEN

Background and Aim: In tropical and subtropical countries, ixodid ticks are among livestock's most economically important ectoparasites. Although Nguni cattle from South Africa have adapted to harsh environments, it is unknown whether they will be resistant to ticks, and the diseases carried by ticks under various climatic conditions. Therefore, this study aimed to compare tick load and estimate the prevalence of different tick species among Nguni cattle under different environmental conditions. Materials and Methods: Tick counts were conducted monthly under natural challenges over 2 years on 586 Nguni cattle located at ARC-Roodeplaat and Loskop farms (warmer climate), Mukhuthali Nguni Community and the University of Fort Hare farms (cooler climate). The generalized linear model procedure of the Statistical Analysis System was used to analyze the data. It fitted the location (farm), sex, year, month or season, and animal age as covariates. Results: The tick species (relative prevalence) observed were as follows: Amblyomma hebraeum (42%), Rhipicephalus evertsi (22%), Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) spp. (16%), Rhipicephalus appendiculatus (11%), Hyalomma marginatum (5%), and Rhipicephalus simus (4%). Tick infestation was significantly affected by location, season, year, month of the tick counting and age of the animal. Loskop farm had the highest tick count (m = 30.69) and showed the largest variation in tick count. Compared to the other seasons, higher tick counts were seen during the hot-dry (September-November) and hot-wet (December-February) seasons. A. hebraeum was the dominant tick species across all four farms, followed by R. evertsi. The perianal region (under the tail head), the perineum and the belly body locations were the most preferred tick attachment sites. Conclusion: These results provide useful information for developing appropriate control strategies for ticks and tick-borne diseases in these provinces of South Africa. Further work must investigate the feasibility of genetic improvement for tick resistance.

RESUMEN

The variance-stabilizing Freeman-Tukey double arcsine transform was originally proposed for inference on single proportions. Subsequently, its use has been suggested in the context of meta-analysis of proportions. While some erratic behavior has been observed previously, here we point out and illustrate general issues of monotonicity and invertibility that make this transform unsuitable for meta-analysis purposes.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Vulvar cancer is one of the rare gynecologic malignancies. Despite the recent increasing trend of vulvar cancer in western countries due to the increased infection of human papillomavirus, there has been no study for population-based incidence of vulvar cancer in Korea. We aimed to investigate the prevalence and treatment of vulvar cancer in South Korea between 2014 and 2018. METHODS: Data from patients diagnosed and treated with vulvar cancer between 2014 and 2018 were obtained from the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service/National Inpatient Sample (National In-Patient Sample) in South Korea. RESULTS: A total of 4,636,542 women were identified through the HIRA-NIS database from 2014 to 2018, of which 259 patients were diagnosed and treated for vulvar cancer. The mean age diagnosed with vulvar cancer was 62.82 (± 14.30) years in 2014, 64.19 (± 16.79) years in 2015, and 67.40 (± 14.41) years in 2016. In terms of treatment modalities, the most frequent treatment was surgery only without chemotherapy or radiation therapy. In the age-specific prevalence analysis, vulvar cancer was the most prevalent among those over 70 years old. According to multiple regression analysis, patients' age was significantly associated with the prevalence of vulvar cancer. Vulvar cancer was more prevalent in women with low socioeconomic status (SES) compared to those with high SES in 2018 (OR, 4.242; P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: Considering the high prevalence of vulvar cancer in the elderly, it is necessary to establish a new strategy for early screening and treatment.

RESUMEN

PURPOSE: Prospective evaluation of the prevalence of incomplete distal renal tubular acidosis (idRTA) in idiopathic calcium stone formers (ICSF) diagnosed by half-dose ammonium chloride loading (NH4Cl, 0.05 g/kg body weight/day) and impact of alkali treatment of idRTA. METHODS: Evaluation of 386 consecutive idiopathic calcium stone formers (ICSF) (280 males, 106 females) for idRTA. If screening fasting urine pH was > 5.80, 1-day NH4Cl loading was performed without severe adverse effects. Normally, urine pH falls below 5.45. RESULTS: Sixty-four idiopathic calcium stone formers exhibited idRTA, one complete dRTA. Prevalence was higher in women (25.4%) than in men (13.6%). Thus, for more equilibrated comparisons, we formed pairs of 62 idiopathic calcium stone formers (ICSF) with and 62 without idRTA, matched for gender, age, BMI and serum creatinine. Idiopathic calcium stone formers with idRTA more often had hypercalciuria (p < 0.025) and urine citrate < 2 mmol/d (p < 0.05), formed calcium phosphate stones more frequently, exhibited higher numbers of stones/year (1.4 ± 1.5 vs. 0.9 ± 0.8, p = 0.034) and 2.5 times more intrarenal calcifications (4.6 ± 5.9 vs. 1.8 ± 3.6, p = 0.002). All idiopathic calcium stone formers with idRTA were recommended chronic alkali therapy. After 4-15 years of follow-up, stone events /years follow-up (stone passage or urologic intervention) were higher in patients non-adherent to alkali therapy (0.61 ± 0.92) than in patients adherent to treatment (0.11 ± 0.21, p = 0.006). CONCLUSION: Incomplete distal renal tubular acidosis is 1.8-fold more prevalent among female idiopathic calcium stone formers, predicts more stone recurrences, predisposes to calcium phosphate stones and is associated with 2.5 times more intrarenal calcifications vs. non-idRTA patients. Chronic alkali treatment reduces clinical stone recurrences by 5.5 times.

RESUMEN

INTRODUCTION: Antimicrobial resistance has become a major public health threat globally. The prevalence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacterial infections increased substantially among inpatients under 18 years of age in recent years. In Zhejiang Province, China, the trends of drug-resistance in non-adult patients from 2014 to 2019 were monitored, aiming to determine the variation patterns and epidemiological features of MDR strains. METHODS: Patient data were collected from the Annual Review of Hospital Infection Resistance Survey in Zhejiang Province, 2014-2019. Statistical analysis was performed to analyze the pattern of distribution of five key bacterial pathogens in different age groups, ward settings, and bloodstream infections. RESULTS: From 2014 to 2019, a total of 30,163 multidrug-resistant strains were identified among 212,252 clinical isolates. The prevalence of extended spectrum ß-lactamase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (ESBL-E), carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE), carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii, carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA), and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) were 40.6%, 2.3%, 14.7%, 9.0%, and 27.4%, respectively. The prevalence of these key pathogens was lower than that reported in the national surveillance system (China Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System and Infectious Diseases Surveillance of Pediatrics). The prevalence of ESBL-E and CRE decreased since 2015 but that of CRPA and MRSA increased from 2014 to 2018. CONCLUSIONS: Despite an overall decrease in the prevalence of drug-resistant bacteria in 2019, the rising prevalence of MRSA and CRPA still warrant much attention. Multidrug-resistant bacteria prevention and control strategies should be adjusted in a timely manner based on the surveillance results.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: In research and literature, little attention has been paid to the role of women, especially mothers, in child sexual abuse. OBJECTIVE: In order to estimate prevalences on mothers as perpetrators and bystanders, data was collected in a German nationwide representative survey. PARTICIPANTS AND SETTING: A total of 2,531 participants (53.3 % female, 14-94 years) were selected by a random route procedure and questioned with a paper-pencil-questionnaire. METHODS: The survey included the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire as well as questions on the perpetrator-victim relationship, bystanders and the awareness within society on the topic of female-perpetrated child sexual abuse. Prevalences were calculated. RESULTS: The prevalence of child sexual abuse (6.6 %) as well as the proportion of female perpetrators (6.6 %) determined in the current survey were low compared to the findings of previous studies. Within the group of female perpetrators, biological mothers accounted for a larger share than biological fathers in the group of male perpetrators. Among the bystanders, the biological mother was named most frequently (24.6 %). CONCLUSION: The general population underestimates the involvement of biological mothers in child sexual abuse. The results confirm that female perpetrators account for a rather small but substantial proportion of the perpetrators of child sexual abuse. Furthermore, the results indicate that mothers play a role in sexual abuse - either as perpetrators or as bystanders - that has been underestimated so far. It is therefore necessary to sensitize professionals and the public to the topic of female perpetrators and especially to the role of mothers in child sexual abuse.

RESUMEN

Research on female-perpetrated child sexual abuse, especially maternal sexual abuse, is scarce. Prevalences are assumed to be lower compared to male-perpetrated abuse; however, representative studies including female perpetrators are rare. Experiences of male- and female-perpetrated child sexual abuse were examined in a representative German sample. Questions included experiences of hands-on and penetrative sexual abuse. The perpetrator-victim relationship was assessed to calculate prevalences of maternal sexual abuse. A total of 2516 participants (54.53% female, 14-91 years) were questioned and prevalences, as well as group differences between victims of male perpetrators compared to female perpetrators, were calculated. Overall, 10.5% of all participants reported experiences of child sexual abuse. Female perpetrators were involved in 9.9% of the cases, i.e. 1.0% of all participants. Victims of female perpetrators were significantly more often male. A quarter of the adult female perpetrators were the mother figure of the child. The findings suggest that the share of female perpetrators in cases of child sexual abuse is rather small; concurrently, female perpetration is insufficiently recognized. Especially male victims seem to be at risk for sexual abuse by female perpetrators. Contacts for children especially within the professional support system need to be aware of the existence of female perpetrators.

RESUMEN

In France, the consumption of cattle and sheep meat appears to be a risk factor for infection of pregnant women with Toxoplasma gondii. Several nation-wide surveys in France have investigated the prevalence of T. gondii in sheep and pig meat, but little is known at present about the prevalence of the parasite in beef. The main objective of the present cross-sectional survey was to estimate the seroprevalence of T. gondii infection in beef consumed in France. A secondary objective was to attempt to isolate T. gondii from cattle tissues and to study the geographical and age variations of this seroprevalence. The overall estimate of seroprevalence of T. gondii in bovine carcasses (n = 2912), for a threshold of 1:6 was 17.38%. A strong age effect was observed (p < 0.0001) with a seroprevalence of 5.34% for calves (<8 months) and 23.12% for adults (>8 months). Seroprevalence estimates given by area of birth and area of slaughtering for adults showed that the areas with the highest seroprevalence were not the same between these two variables. Only two strains, corresponding to genotype II, were isolated from heart samples, indicating that there is a limited risk of human infection with T. gondii, which needs to be correlated with the food habit of consuming raw or undercook (bleu or saignant) beef. However, new questions have emerged, especially concerning the isolation of parasites from beef and the precise role of bovines, generally described as poor hosts for T. gondii, in human infection.

OBJECTIVE: To estimate the one-year prevalence of primary headaches, most importantly migraine and tension type headache, but also other primary headaches, in Estonia. METHODS: A population-based random sample of 2162 subjects in Tartu City and Tartu County were interviewed by telephone or face to face using a previously validated questionnaire. RESULTS: Of the 2162 contacted participants, 1215 (56%) fully completed the study. Of these, 502 (41.3%) reported headache during the previous year. The prevalences adjusted by weighting by age, gender, education, marital status and habitat were the following: All headaches 41.0%, all migraine 17.7%, all tension-type headache 18.0%, trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias 0.4%, other primary headaches 2.5%, and chronic headaches 2.7%. CONCLUSION: The 1-year prevalences of primary headache disorders in Estonia are comparable to the previous findings in other European countries.
