RESUMEN

Spontaneous combustion of coal gangue dumps poses a significant threat to the health and safety of nearby residents and has adverse effects on the environment. The establishment of measures to extinguish these fires requires information on the three-dimensional characteristics and oxidation degree of the dumps. An acquisition method for the index data was proposed. The temperature and the radon concentration were used as the principal indicators, and the gas concentration was a secondary index for verifying the results. Kriging interpolation was applied to predict the value of the unsampled points. Additionally, the three-dimensional characteristics of the temperature and radon anomalies were determined, thresholds were set, and the changes in the temperature and radon migration were considered to estimate the extent and depth of the fire in the coal gangue dumps. The oxidation degree of the anomalous area was identified according to the critical value of the temperature and radon anomalies. The application of this method in the gangue dump of the Tashan coal mine showed the existence of 17 oxidation areas, covering an area of 31,433 m2, including 4 shallow oxidation areas, 4 deep oxidation areas in coal waste dumps, and 9 medium-deep oxidation areas. According to the decision criterion, 4 areas with relatively high oxidation degree were identified, whereas the remaining sites were low-oxidation areas. Additionally, surface fires and internal fires can be transformed into each other, posing a significant threat. The results obtained from the various data sources were consistent and in agreement with the ground survey results, indicating that the proposed method is effective for the detection of fires in coal gangue dumps.

RESUMEN

The Artisan Minas Cheese (AMC) is the oldest and most traditional Brazilian cheese, it is produced in several regions of the state of Minas Gerais, such as the Serro region. The most striking features of the AMC-Serro are the use of raw milk and natural bacteria from the whey, popularly known as pingo, as well as the use of the rind washing process. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the proteolysis of the AMC-Serro from three different producers, during 60 days of maturation, and to relate the proteolysis to the producing farms, the production season and the rind washing during ripening. For this purpose, TRICINE-SDS-PAGE, proteolysis extension and depth indices, moisture, and texture (firmness) were evaluated. It was concluded that the temperature and moisture of the cheeses, that were determined by the location of the ripening room, the production season and the rind washing, were the most important factors. The degree of proteolysis also had an impact on the water loss during ripening, with effect on cheese safety. The results obtained in this study may be used to better understand the transformations during ripening of AMC-Serro and help the small traditional farmers to improve their product's quality and stability.

RESUMEN

Internet of Multimedia Things (IoMT) brings convenient and intelligent services while also bringing huge challenges to multimedia data security and privacy. Access control is used to protect the confidentiality and integrity of restricted resources. Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) implements fine-grained control of resources in an open heterogeneous IoMT environment. However, due to numerous users and policies in ABAC, access control policy evaluation is inefficient, which affects the quality of multimedia application services in the Internet of Things (IoT). This paper proposed an efficient policy retrieval method to improve the performance of access control policy evaluation in multimedia networks. First, retrieve policies that satisfy the request at the attribute level by computing based on the binary identifier. Then, at the attribute value level, the depth index was introduced to reconstruct the policy decision tree, thereby improving policy retrieval efficiency. This study carried out simulation experiments in terms of the different number of policies and different policy complexity situation. The results showed that the proposed method was three to five times more efficient in access control policy evaluation and had stronger scalability.

RESUMEN

PURPOSE: To determine if trochlear morphology in healthy knees depends on sex and ethnicity, and to compare it to off-the-shelf TKA prostheses. METHODS: Three retrospective series of CT angiograms from France (female, 124; male, 135), China (female, 122; male, 137) and South Africa (female, 21; male, 62) were used to digitize osseous landmarks at the level of the femoral epicondyles. Sulcus angle, trochlear rotation, lateral trochlear inclination, trochlear asymmetry ratio, and trochlear depth index were quantified for each knee and for 10 total knee arthroplasty (TKA) models. Univariable regression analyses were performed to determine associations of the five trochlear parameters with sex and ethnicity. Interquartile ranges (IQR) of native trochlear parameters were compared to the trochlear parameters of 10 off-the-shelf TKA prostheses. RESULTS: Compared to French knees, Chinese knees had greater sulcus angle (ß = 6.3°, p < 0.001), trochlear rotation (ß = 0.8°, p = 0.004) and trochlear depth index (ß = 1.60, p < 0.001). Conversely, South African knees had greater trochlear rotation (ß = 1.9°, p < 0.001) and lateral trochlear inclination (ß = 3.7°, p < 0.001). Female knees had smaller trochlear asymmetry ratios (ß = - 0.03, p = 0.05) but greater trochlear rotation angles (ß = 0.7, p = 0.005). Considerable mismatches in trochlear morphology were revealed between native knees and off-the-shelf TKA prostheses. CONCLUSIONS: The findings suggest that thresholds used in the diagnosis of patellofemoral instability should be adapted to patient sex and ethnicity, and that standard off-the-shelf TKA may not restore native trochlear parameters in all patients. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: III, retrospective comparative.

RESUMEN

The CX and DPX web-based servers at http://pongor.itk.ppke.hu/bioinfoservices are dedicated to the analysis of protein 3D structures submitted by the users as Protein Data Bank (PDB) files. CX computes an atomic protrusion index, cx that makes it possible to highlight the protruding atoms within a protein 3D structure. DPX calculates a depth index, dpx for buried atoms, and allows one to visualize the distribution of buried residues. CX and DPX visualize 3D structures colored according to the calculated indices and return PDB files that can be visualized using standard programs. A combined server site, the Protein Core Workbench allows visualization of dpx, cx, solvent-accessible area as well as the number of atomic contacts as 3D plots and 1D sequence plots. Online visualization of the 3D structures and 1D sequence plots are available in all three servers. Mirror sites are available at http://hydra.icgeb.trieste.it/protein/ .
