RESUMEN

Inspired by the theory of "liver as the thief of five organs", the authors believe that although psoriasis vulgaris manifests externally, its root cause lies internally in liver disharmony. During the active and stable phases, conventional acupuncture combined with liver-regulating wood-softening acupuncture method is used to regulate blood and harmonize the liver, addressing both the symptoms and the root cause. During the remission phase, liver-regulating wood-softening acupuncture method is employed to soothe the liver and restrain the yin, while also regulating and nurturing the emotional state. This study provides a clinical approach to acupuncture treatment for psoriasis vulgaris.

RESUMEN

As an acupoint where the qi of the kidneys is infused in the back and waist,Shenshu(BL23)points belongs to the category of the foot taiyang bladder meridian, which is widely used clinically in the treatment of genitourinary system diseases.Shenshu points are located in the back of the human body foot taiyang bladder meridian direct branch circulation, and for the foot shaoyin meridian of where the symptom is,therefore it has a special property. However, there is a lack of in-depth research on the point properties and utilization of Shenshu points, thus this paper explores their acupoint properties based on the theories of channel, symptom and root cause, and the four seas, and investigates the correlations between their therapeutic efficacy and the method of moxibustion, acupoint matching, and depth of needling through the ancient books and clinical practice. The results showed that different methods of acupuncture and moxibustion, the combination of acupoints, and the depth of needling can stimulate the different therapeutic effects of the Shenshu. Therefore, the therapeutic effects of the Shenshu points can only be better utilized if the acupoints are clearly identified and supplemented with appropriate methods of acupuncture and moxibustion, the compatibility of acupoints, and the depth of needling.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical effect and advantages of dynamic and static acupuncture method combined with manual reduction on posterior semicircular canal benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (PC-BPPV). METHODS: Ninety patients with PC-BPPV who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into manual reduction control group, acupuncture control group and experimental group, with 30 cases in each group. Epley reduction method was used for manual reduction control treatment of patients in the manual reduction control group, until there was no obvious vertigo of patients. Patients in the acupuncture control group received ordinary acupuncture treatment, while patients in the experiment group received dynamic and static acupuncture treatment, both on the basis of manual reduction control treatment. Baihui(GV20) and Yintang(GV24+), Sanyinjiao(SP6), Zhongzhu(TE3), Houxi(SI3) and Waiguan(TE5) on the healthy side, and the vertigo-auditory area and Fengchi(GB20) on the affected side were selected for acupuncture intervention, which was performed once a day, with needles retained for 30 minutes in two acupuncture groups. Every six times was taken as a session and two sessions were required. Dizziness handicap inventory (DHI) scale and visual analogue score (VAS) were used to evaluate the degree of vertigo before, after 1 and 2 sessions of treatment respectively. RESULTS: Compared with those before treatment, the DHI score and VAS score of each group after 1 and 2 sessions of treatment were both significantly decreased (P<0.05). Compared with the acupuncture control group and the manual reduction control group, the DHI score of the experiment group was significantly decreased (P<0.05) after 1 and 2 sessions of treatment. VAS score of the experiment group was significantly decreased compared with that of the manual reduction control group(P<0.05) after 1 and 2 sessions of treatment. The total effective rate of the experiment group was 86.67%, better than those of the acupuncture control group (83.33%, P<0.05) and the manual reduction control group(66.67%, P<0.05). CONCLUSION: The dynamic and static acupuncture method combined with manual reduction effectively improved vertigo symptoms in PC-BPPV with rapid and lasting effects, which is worthy of further clinical promotion and application.

RESUMEN

[Objective]To summarize Professor YANG Danhong's clinical experience in the treatment of pain.[Methods]Through learning from teacher, reviewing ancient books and modern literature research, based on the pathogenesis of pain, the theoretical basis of Professor YANG's meridian acupuncture method and its application prospect for the treatment of pain were discussed. Two clinical medical cases were cited to support.[Results]The mechanism of pain is"obstruction leads to pain"and"malnutrition leads to pain",mainly because the Qi mechanism does not run smoothly.Professor YANG believes that the treatment should be aimed at smoothing the Qi mechanism.Based on the theory of"Gen-Jie"and"Genliu Zhuru"in Huangdi Neijing, the meridian acupuncture method named"the meridian acupuncture method"are proposed for pain.It is also treated according to Professor YANG's own clinical experience and combining with the piercing method. The acupuncture method, which emphasizes the theory of the treatment based on the channel's differentiation of pain, takes the head and tail points of the meridians passed by the disease position. After quickly twisting and getting Qi,and the well points are blooded. The two medical cases attached were caused by obstruction of Qi mechanism. The treatment took the first and last points of the meridians through the meridian acupuncture method,so that Qi and blood could be carried out and the pain was cured.[Conclusion]Professor YANG pays attention to the theory of the treatment based on the channel's differentiation of pain, and emphasizes the combination of the first and last points and the well points.Cooperated with the pricking collaterals therapy to strengthen the circulation of Qi and regulating Qi and blood, the effect was quite good, which was worthy of clinical promotion.

RESUMEN

It has been the consensus of the academic community that the doctor DOU Han-qing in Jin-Yuan Dynasty was the pioneer of point to point penetration acupuncture method. The contents of several texts in Yuan-Ming-Qing Dynasties were combed on the basis of Dou Taishi Zhenjing(《》).The paradigm, the acupoints, basic elements and the characteristics of the main treatment of diseases were discussed, and the relationship between the point to point penetration acupuncture method with the penetration acupuncture method has been tried to distinguish from the perspective of technical philosophy. It was found that the specifications and quantity of the 28 "penetration and to" cases in Dou Taishi Zhenjing(《》)were sufficiently exemplary for future generations, and were the source documents of Yuan-Ming-Qing's texts, which basically followed its specifications and content and developed. For example, the Yulong Poetries(《》)in the books of Bianque Shenying Zhenjiu Yulong Jing(《》),Zhenjiu Dacheng(《》),Zhenfang Liuji(《》).The 37 cases in Zhenfang Liuji(《》) were the most in several texts. The 31 cases in Xunjing Kaoxue Bian(《》)had the characteristics of DOU Han-qing, YANG Ji-zhou and LING Yun, who developed the opposite direction penetration method with two or more needles on DOU Han-qing's one needle. There were five basic elements in the point to point penetration acupuncture method:the needle pri-cking inch(depth), the needle pricking angle, the needle pricking direction, the starting acupoint, the end acupoint. This method in Dou Taishi Zhenjing(《》)mostly treated local diseases and symptoms, some acupoints below the elbows and knees also treated far-end diseases. The point to point penetration acupuncture method has a specific intention structure, which cannot be confused with the penetration acupuncture method.

RESUMEN

Motion style acupuncture is generally used in combination with the movement therapy of affected parts in the process of needle acupuncture. In the process of acupuncture, the "movement" of the affected part can play a targeted guiding role in "spirit" and "Qi", It can lead the mind (spirit) and Qi to the place of disease, so as to achieve the realm of "treating spirit", "guiding Qi" and "keeping Qi", and eliminate diseases by activating the self-healing force of the human body. It is not only an important operation method of this acupuncture, but also the core idea and the key to take effect. In this acupuncture method, local acupoints or acupoints on the distal unaffected side are selected for acupuncture. The exercise methods include active and passive exercise. In the treatment of depression syndrome, hiccup, angina pectoris and other medical diseases, they often cooperate with respiratory exercise, as well as massage and self feeling. This acupuncture method is mostly used in the treatment of orthopedic and traumatological diseases, and can also treat facial paralysis, depression, anxiety, stroke and stroke sequelae, hiccup, angina pectoris and other medical diseases. It is less used in gynecology, or facial features. The treatment effect is better than simple acupuncture. It can also be combined with electroacupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western medicine to improve the curative effect. In the future, it is necessary to further explore the relevant dominant diseases and explore the exercise methods more suitable for the relevant diseases. More attention should also be paid to the thinking of exercise inducing Qi and the concept of treating God contained in this acupuncture method.

RESUMEN

Background: Vascular dementia (VD) is the second most common type of dementia after Alzheimer's disease, but there is a lack of definitive treatment for VD. Acupuncture treatment is effective in improving the cognitive impairment and behavioral capacity of patients with VD. In recent years, more studies indicated that peripheral inflammation and abnormal peripheral immune function may aggravate neuroinflammation and cognitive dysfunction. However, there are few studies about the acupuncture and the abnormal peripheral immune function of VD. Also, few studies concern the regulating effect of acupuncture on peripheral immunity of patients with VD. Objective: The aim of this study was to explore the effect of the "sanjiao" acupuncture method on peripheral immunity of patients with mild to moderate VD. Methods: A total of 30 patients with VD were involved in the acupuncture group (AG), which was treated with the "sanjiao" acupuncture method once a day for six times a week and lasted for 12 weeks, and 30 healthy elderly people were assigned to the normal group (NG), which had no treatment. The distribution of lymphocyte subsets and the levels of some inflammatory cytokines in the peripheral blood of subjects were evaluated using the flow cytometry (FCM) and the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results: A total of 60 subjects were involved in this study, while 58 subjects completed the entire trial. Before treatment, the levels of CD3+ T, CD4+ T cells, CD4+/CD8+, Tregs, B cells, IFN-γ, and IL-10 in patients with VD were significantly decreased compared with the normal group (all P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). The level of TNF-α in peripheral blood of patients with VD was significantly increased (P < 0.01). After acupuncture treatment, the levels of CD3+ T, CD4+ T cells, and IFN-γ were significantly increased (all P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). The level of TNF-α was significantly decreased (P < 0.01). The proportion of Tregs was increased (P < 0.01), but it was still lower than that of the normal group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The acupuncture method can increase the proportion of CD3+, CD4+ T cells, and Tregs in peripheral blood of patients with VD. And, it reduces the levels of pro-inflammatory factor TNF-α, which achieves the anti-inflammatory effects and immunostimulation. It suggests that acupuncture can improve the peripheral immune dysfunction of patients with VD by regulating the distribution of lymphocyte subsets and the levels of inflammatory cytokines. RESUMEN

The scalp acupuncture therapy, an important component of the microneedle system of the acupuncturology, is effective in the treatment of multiple types of diseases. In the present paper, we made a comparative analysis about the theoretical basis, acupoint location and main clinical indications of the ten academic schools of scalp-acupuncture, including FANG Yun-peng's Scalp Acupuncture, JIAO Shun-fa's Scalp Acupuncture, ZHU Ming-qing's Scalp Acupuncture, etc. which are widely used in clinic at present after collecting the related articles published in recent 60 years from databases of CNKI, Wanfang and VIP, and relevant books. These nine academic schools are similar in clinical indications (such as neurological disorders, brain-derived di-seases) and in needle inserting angle and depth, and different in the needling manipulations, needlingmethods, needle retaining time, theoretical basis, attending diseases of the same one stimulated region, and the position and yin or yang of holograms. The main problems facing the scalp acupuncture are non-uniform positioning method, non-uniform needling method, and non-uniform indications of the same scalp acupoint. Up to now, it remains unclear that which academic school is better in the therapeutic efficacy, thus, we should strengthen clinical research to find out its inherent law in diagnosis and treatment, constantly optimize the needle scheme, determine the best scalp-acupoint position and best needling manipulations, quantize and standardize the related issues, and accelerate the integration of the different academic schools, so as to improve clinical curative effect and to further promote the application and popularization, serving the patients in a better way.

RESUMEN

The historical origin of hand acupuncture therapies were collected. The positioning method, acupuncture manipulation and dominant diseases, etc. were compared among 8 kinds of extensively used hand acupuncture schools, such as traditional hand acupuncture, Korean finger needle and Fang's hand image needle. It is found that the positioning method and needling method are not unified and the dominant diseases not specified. In the future study, the regimen of hand acupuncture should be optimized, the optimal holographic image, acupuncture manipulation and quantitative standards should be developed and the integration among schools should be promoted so that the relevant specifications can be formulated, national standards be developed and the application and development of hand acupuncture therapy be promoted.

RESUMEN

The bamboo slips of acupuncture prescriptions unearthed from the Han Dynasty Tomb at Laoguanshan include both theoretical elaborations and formulae. Specifications for diagnosis and treatment, standards for needles and a variety of acupuncture techniques are discussed. The 40 acupuncture prescriptions recorded are based on presupposed summaries of theory and experience, rather than empirical formulae. Among them, 28 have needling sites that are maishu (vessel points), with proper names and specific locations. The names of these maishu adopt the pattern of 'the name of the site + the name of one of the three yin and three yang meridians'. Needling numbers are indicated for the majority of the sites of acupuncture stimulation, no matter whether for maishu or for sites at pathological areas. These statements fully embody the distinct characteristics of Bianque acupuncture.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of "Xingnao Kaiqiao" acupuncture(acupuncture technique for restoring consciousness) combined with hyperbaric oxygen in patients with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy and assess its influence on blood rheology. METHODS: Forty patients with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with 20 cases in each group. The treatment group received "Xingnao Kaiqiao" acupuncture combined with hyperbaric oxygen, and the control group received hyperbaric oxygen only. The two groups of patients were treated once per day for 6 consecutive days, which consisted of one course of treatment, and the total treatment lasted for four courses. Before and after treatment, the patients underwent the mini mental state examination (MMSE) to evaluate cognitive function and the barthel index score for activities of daily living. The changes of whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, and erythrocyte aggregation index were determined. RESULTS: After treatment, both the treatment and control groups showed improvements in cognitive function, activities of daily living, and blood rheology compared with those before treatment (P<0.05). However, these improvements in the treatment group were significantly greater than those in the control group (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Application of "Xingnao Kaiqiao" acupuncture combined with hyperbaric oxygen in patients with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy can result in an integrated curative effect, a significant improvement in the blood rheology indexes, and promote the recovery of brain cells.
