RESUMEN

Purpose: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common clinical critical condition that has become a significant healthcare burden. In recent years, the relationship between AKI and mitochondria has attracted increasing attention. Protecting mitochondria or restoring their function has emerged as a novel therapeutic strategy for alleviating AKI. This study aims to analyze and summarize the current status, research trends, and hotspots in this field, providing references and directions for future research. Methods: AKI and mitochondria-related literature from the Web of Science core collection were retrieved and collected. Bibliometric and visualization analyses were conducted using Microsoft Excel 2021, bibliometric tools (VosViewer, Citespace 6.3.R1, and the bibliometrix R package), R 4.3.2, and SCImagoGraphica software. Results: A total of 2433 publications were included in this study. The number of annual publications in this field has increased year by year. China and the United States are the two most productive countries. Central South University is the most influential research institution in terms of research output, and Parikh SM, Schnellmann RG, and Dong Z are the most influential authors in this field. KIDNEY INTERNATIONAL, JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF NEPHROLOGY, and AMERICAN JOURNAL OF PHYSIOLOGY-RENAL PHYSIOLOGY are the most influential journals. Initially, the research focused on keywords such as oxidative stress, ischemia-reperfusion injury, apoptosis, inflammation, and autophagy. In recent years, new research hotspots have emerged, including ferroptosis, aging, mitochondrial quality control, messenger RNA, mitochondrial-targeted antioxidants, extracellular vesicles, and nanodrug delivery. Conclusion: Research on the relationship between mitochondria and AKI has broad developing prospects, and targeting mitochondrial regulation will become a focus of future AKI prevention and treatment research.

Purpose: Thalassemia, an inherited quantitative globin disorder, is the most prevalent monogenic disease globally. While severe alpha thalassemia results in intrauterine death, ß-thalassemia manifests during childhood due to the "second conversion of hemoglobin", garnering increased attention in recent decades. Methods: In this study, a bibliometric analysis was conducted of thalassemia articles published in the Web of Science Core Collection database between 2013 and 2023 to establish a comprehensive overview and to identify emerging trends. A total of 5655 studies published between 2013 and 2023 were systematically retrieved, and annual publications demonstrated a steady increase, maintaining a high level over the past decade. Results: The United States contributed the highest number of publications, followed by China. Notably, the journal Blood emerged as the leading authority in ß-thalassemia research. Analysis of research hotspots revealed that the pathogenesis of ß-thalassemia is primarily linked to iron overload, anemia, gene mutations, and ineffective erythropoiesis. Furthermore, recent studies focusing on gene editing therapies present promising avenues for future investigation. Conclusion: These findings grasp the research status of ß-thalassemia and shed new light on future research frontiers.

Background: BET family proteins are important epigenetic and transcriptional regulators involved in the control of tumorigenesis and development and have become important targets for cancer therapy. However, there is no systematic bibliometric analysis in this field. A visual analysis of the research hotspots and trends of BET is helpful to understand the future development direction. Method: We used CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Excel to visualize and analyze the trends regarding authors, journals, countries or regions, highly cited papers, and keywords in the field. Result: The results included a total of 946 publications. There are many more papers on BET proteins published since 2013. The papers are mainly from 44 countries, led by the U.S. and China. A total of 7381 authors were identified, among which Bradner, J.E. had the greatest number of articles and the greatest influence. Cancer Discovery was the journal with the most citations per article. Our analysis identified the most influential papers in the field, including highly cited papers and citation burst references. The most frequent keywords included 'expression', 'c-Myc', 'cancer', 'BRD4', 'BET inhibition', 'resistance', 'differentiation', and 'JQ1', which represent the focus of current and developing research fields. Conclusion: Research on BET is thriving. Collaboration and exchanges between countries and institutions must be strengthened in the future, and the mechanisms of BET-related pathways, the relationship between BET and various diseases, and the development of new BET inhibitors have become the major focus of current research and the trend of future research.

Purpose: The study focuses on contemporary trends in the psychological well­being of foster children residing in care homes over the past two decades. Moreover, it aims to predict future research directions by analyzing hotspots, offering valuable references for academics engaged in further studies in this field. Methods: A quantitative analysis was conducted on nine hundred and twelve documents, including research papers and reviews, from 2003 to 2023. These publications focused on the psychological well­being of foster children and were incorporated from the Scopus database. For visual analysis, we utilized the bibliometric analytical tool VOSviewer to generate a map of information on the authors, journals, organizations, nations, citations, and keywords. We also employed Microsoft Excel tables to record the essential details. Results: The psychological well­being of children and adolescents residing in foster homes is an emerging area of research. The findings show that there has been an ongoing rise in relevant research publications over time. The United States (416) and Harvard Medical School (56) were the most active countries and organizations in this study. AIDS Care: Psychological and Socio-Medical Aspects of AIDS/HIV (91 articles) and Vulnerable Children and Youth Studies (86 articles) are two prominent journals, while the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry had the most co-citations (630). Nelson (52 publications) and Zeanah (50 publications) are the top two leading authors based on citation counts. Institutional care, orphans, HIV/AIDS orphans, psychological well­being, and mental health, resilience are popular research keywords in this study. Conclusion: This study indicates the prevailing interest in the specified domains over the past two decades. Our findings primarily indicate that addressing mental health concerns, along with understanding the needs of children in foster care homes, can enhance their psychological well­being. Developing effective interventions to enhance the psychological well­being of children in foster care is bound to have a profound effect on them and will serve as a key focus for future research in this field.

Background: Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is a chronic disabling disease caused by degeneration of nucleus pulposus cells, decreased activity and the number of nucleus pulposus cells, decreased extracellular matrix, and infiltration of inflammatory factors, resulting in low back and leg pain. Recent studies have shown that non-surgical treatment is of great significance in reversing the progression of degenerative disc disease, and there are more relevant literature reports. However, there is no bibliometric analysis in this area. This study aimed to describe the knowledge structure and thematic trends of non-surgical treatment methods for IDD through bibliometrics. Methods: Articles and reviews on non-surgical treatment of disc degeneration from 1998 to 2022 were collected on the Web of Science. VOSviewer 1.6.18, CiteSpace 6.1.R3, R package "bibliometrix" and two online analysis platforms were used for bibliometric and visual literature analysis. Results: 961 articles were screened for inclusion, including 821 articles and 140 reviews. The analysis of our study shows that publications in the non-surgical treatment of disc degeneration are increasing annually, with publications coming mainly from North America and Asia, with China and the United States dominating. Huazhong Univ Sci & Technol and Wang K are the most prolific institutions and authors, respectively, and Le Maitre CL is the most co-cited author. However, there is less collaboration between institutions in different countries. Spine is both the most published and the most cited journal. According to the co-citation and co-occurrence analysis results, "mesenchymal stem cells," "exosomes," "medication," and "tissue engineering" are the current research hotspots in this field. Conclusions: This study employs bibliometric analysis to explore the knowledge structure and trends of non-surgical treatments for IDD from 2013 to 2022. Key research hotspots include mesenchymal stem cells, exosomes, medication, and tissue engineering. The number of publications, especially from China and the USA, has increased significantly, though international collaboration needs improvement. Influential contributors include Wang K and the journal Spine. These findings provide a comprehensive overview and highlight important future directions for the field.

Objective: This study points to probing the inclination and mapping knowledge domain of acupuncture for Parkinson's disease through bibliometrics. Methods: A search was conducted on 1 February 2024 using the Web of Science to identify papers published on acupuncture for Parkinson's disease. The analysis included scientific research, countries, organizations, authors/cited authors, keywords, journals, and cited references. Bibliometric data were analyzed using VOSviewer software, CiteSpace, GraphPad Prism, and Scimago Graphica. The studies on acupuncture for Parkinson's disease were visualized as a network map according to the publication year. Results: The cumulative publication trend on acupuncture for Parkinson's disease is increasing year by year. China is the leading contributor in this field. International collaboration is predominantly concentrated in Europe, while institutional collaboration is chiefly limited to Chinese universities specializing in traditional Chinese medicine. Park HJ is the most prolific author, with "Movement Disorders" being the journal with the most publications. "Brain Research" is identified as a key journal, reflecting a focus on neuroscience. Kim SN is the most cited author, while Eisenberg DM is a prominent author in this field. Research topics such as mouse models, systematic reviews, and non-motor symptoms are frequently explored, with messenger RNA of substantia nigra emerging as a notable keyword in this field. Choi YG's 2009 paper, published in the Neuroscience Letters journal, is a critical reference in this field. Key papers include Eisenberg DM's 1998 study on randomized trials of acupuncture for non-motor symptoms of PD, as well as research focusing on the neuroinflammatory regulatory mechanisms of acupuncture for PD. Conclusion: The bibliometric analysis offers an exhaustive generality of the advancement and worldwide trends in acupuncture treatments for Parkinson's disease, shedding light on potential avenues for prospective research.

Background: In recent years, numerous studies have suggested that the gut microbiota and its metabolites are closely related to myocardial infarction. Utilizing insights from these research findings may be advantageous in the prevention, treatment, and prognosis of myocardial infarction. We have employed bibliometric methodology to summarize the progress made in this research area over the past 20 years, identify the hotspots, and highlight the developmental tendencies, providing a reference for future research in this field. Methods: We searched the content related to this field in the Web of Science Core Collection database, with a time range from 2001 to 2023. We used VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Scimago Graphica software to visualize the search results. Results: We included 889 reports in this study. The country with the most publications was China, while the country with the greatest influence was the United States. An analysis of institutions showed that the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences had the largest volume of publications, whereas the Cleveland Clinic had the most influential ones. An author analysis showed Stanley L Hazen to have published the most and to also have been the most influential researcher. An analysis of all the journals publishing articles related to the search terms showed that PLoS One journal had the highest number of publications (18 articles), while Atherosclerosis journal had the most influential articles. The results of our reference analysis showed a strong association between Trimethylamine N-oxide and myocardial infarction. We found that increased intestinal permeability may be related to the progression of cardiovascular diseases, a high-fiber diet may help in the prevention of diseases such as myocardial infarction, and populations with a high intake of red meat may have an increased risk of myocardial infarction. Keyword analysis suggested that 'cardiac fibrosis' and 'major bleeding' were promising research directions in the future, and supplementing food intake with short-chain fatty acids was looked upon as a promising approach to treating coronary heart disease. Conclusion: The gut microbiota are closely related to myocardial infarction, and investigating this relationship is crucial for the prevention and treatment of myocardial infarction, where interdisciplinary research and international cooperation are indispensable.

Background: Cervical cancer, a severe threat to women's health, is experiencing a global increase in incidence, notably among younger demographics. With artificial intelligence (AI) making strides, its integration into medical research is expanding, particularly in cervical cancer studies. This bibliometric study aims to evaluate AI's role, highlighting research trends and potential future directions in the field. Methods: This study systematically retrieved literature from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC), employing VOSviewer and CiteSpace for analysis. This included examining collaborations and keyword co-occurrences, with a focus on the relationship between citing and cited journals and authors. A burst ranking analysis identified research hotspots based on citation frequency. Results: The study analyzed 927 articles from 2008 to 2024 by 5,299 authors across 81 regions. China, the U.S., and India were the top contributors, with key institutions like the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the NIH leading in publications. Schiffman, Mark, featured among the top authors, while Jemal, A, was the most cited. 'Diagnostics' and 'IEEE Access' stood out for publication volume and citation impact, respectively. Keywords such as 'cervical cancer,' 'deep learning,' 'classification,' and 'machine learning' were dominant. The most cited article was by Berner, ES; et al., published in 2008. Conclusions: AI's application in cervical cancer research is expanding, with a growing scholarly community. The study suggests that AI, especially deep learning and machine learning, will remain a key research area, focusing on improving diagnostics and treatment. There is a need for increased international collaboration to maximize AI's potential in advancing cervical cancer research and patient care.

BACKGROUND: Renal Denervation (RDN) is a novel non-pharmacological technique to treat hypertension. This technique lowers blood pressure by blocking the sympathetic nerve fibers around the renal artery, then causing a decrease in system sympathetic nerve excitability. This study aimed to visualize and analyze research hotspots and development trends in the field of RDN for hypertension through bibliometric analysis. METHODS: In total, 1479 studies were retrieved on the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database from 2004 to 2023. Using CiteSpace (6.2.R4) and VOSviewer (1.6.18), visualization maps were generated by relevant literature in the field of RDN for hypertension to demonstrate the research status and frontiers. RESULTS: The number of publications was found to be generally increasing. Europe and the United States were the first countries to carry out research on different techniques and related RDN clinical trials. The efficacy and safety of RDN have been repeatedly verified and gained increasing attention. The study involves multiple disciplines, including the cardiovascular system, peripheral vascular disease, and physiological pathology, among others. Research hotspots focus on elucidating the mechanism of RDN in the treatment of hypertension and the advantages of RDN in appliance therapy. Additionally, the research frontiers include improvement of RDN instruments and techniques, as well as exploration of the therapeutic effects of RDN in diseases with increased sympathetic nerve activity. CONCLUSION: The research hotspots and frontiers reflect the status and development trend of RDN in hypertension. In the future, it is necessary to strengthen international collaboration and cooperation, conduct long-term clinical studies with a large sample size, and continuously improve RDN technology and devices. These measures will provide new options for more patients with hypertension, thereby improving their quality of life.

BACKGROUND: Seborrheic dermatitis (SD) is a common chronic inflammatory skin disease. In recent years, significant progress has been made in the field of SD, but there has been no bibliometric research yet. This study aims to use bibliometric methods to analyze the current research status and hot topics of SD, to understand further the research trends and future development prospects in this field. METHODS: Retrieve core literature on SD from the Web of Science database and conduct a detailed analysis using CiteSpace and VOSviewer software based on factors such as publication volume, countries (regions), research institutions, journals, authors, highly-cited papers, and keywords. RESULTS: From 1996 to 2024, a total of 1436 publications were included in the bibliometric analysis. The number of publications has shown an increasing trend year by year. The USA is the leading country in this field of research. The University of California System is the primary research institution. The International Journal of Dermatology is the journal with the highest number of publications. The author Yang Won Lee has the highest number of publications, while the article "Seborrheic Dermatitis" (2004) by Gupta, A.K. has been cited the most. "Seborrheic dermatitis" is the most frequently occurring keyword. The main research hotspots and frontiers in SD are as follows: (1) The relationship between SD and other skin diseases is a popular research topic; (2) Malassezia and inflammation are current research hotspots in SD; and (3) Focusing on antifungal and anti-inflammatory treatments for SD is the current frontier direction in this field. CONCLUSION: This study is a summary of the current status and hot trends of SD research, which helps clinical doctors and researchers quickly understand the insights and valuable information of SD research and provides reference for clinical decision-making and finding future research directions.

Objective: The present study aims to conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of global research in palliative care for cervical cancer, providing insights into publication trends, authorship patterns, influential journals, and thematic concentrations. Methods: A bibliometric analysis approach was employed using metadata extracted from Scopus spanning 2000-2023. The search utilized main terms related to cervical cancer and palliative care. Data analysis and visualization were performed using the Bibliometrix R Package's web app Biblioshiny and VOSviewer software. Results: The study identified 2,492 publications on palliative care for cervical cancer, with a notable peak in 2021. The analysis revealed a diverse publication landscape, encompassing primarily articles. Citation analysis showed a staggering 63,994 citations. The most relevant journals were The Lancet Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, and International Journal of Gynecological Cancer. The study also highlighted influential authors, institutions, and countries, with Harvard University, the University of Toronto, and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center leading in publications. Discussion: The findings reflected a growing interest in palliative care for cervical cancer, marked by increasing publications over the years. However, the analysis indicated limited international collaborations, with research efforts concentrated in high-income countries. Thematic areas include surgery, palliative care, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and quality of life. Thus, further collaborations and research in developing countries are needed. Conclusion: This bibliometric analysis showcased a comprehensive overview of the global research landscape on palliative care for cervical cancer. The study identified trends, key contributors, and thematic concentrations, offering valuable insights for future research directions and enhancing palliative care services. Addressing the identified gaps, fostering international collaborations, and directing research efforts toward developing countries can contribute to the advancement of palliative care for cervical cancer globally.

Background: Radiation therapy has become an important treatment for many malignant tumours after surgery and for palliative tumour care. Although modern radiotherapy technology is constantly improving, radiation damage to normal tissues is often difficult to avoid, and radiation-induced skin injury (RSI) is a common complication, manifested as skin erythema, peeling, ulceration, and even bone and deep organ damage, seriously affect the quality of life for patients. Basic research and clinical trials related to RSI have achieved certain results, while no researchers have conducted comprehensive bibliometric studies. Objective: A comprehensive bibliometric analysis of publications on RSI published between 2004 and 2023 was conducted to identify current hotspots and future directions in this area of study. Methods: RSI-related publications published between January 1, 2004, and December 31, 2023, were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database for analysis using VOSviewer and CiteSpace analytics. Results: A total of 1009 publications on RSI from 2004 to 2023 were included in the WoSCC database. The United States had the highest productivity with 299 papers, accounting for 29.63% of the total production, followed by China with 193 papers (19.13%) and Japan with 111 papers (11.00%). In terms of research institutions and journals, the University of Toronto and Journal of Supportive Care in Cancer published the highest number of papers. Professor Edward Chow published the most articles, while Professor Shuyu Zhang was the most cited. The top ten most-cited papers focused on the pathogenesis, prevention, and management of RSI. Keyword co-occurrence analysis and the top 25 keywords with the strongest citation bursts suggest that current research focuses on the pathogenesis, prevention, and treatment management of RSI. Conclusion: This study conducted a systematic bibliometric analysis of RSI publications from 2004 to 2023; identified the trends in RSI publications, major research countries, major research institutions, major research journals, major research authors, and major research keywords; and revealed the future development direction and research hotspots of this field. This study provides a valuable reference for future RSI research.

Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a globally prevalent neurodegenerative disorder, primarily characterized by muscle rigidity, resting tremor, and bradykinesia. The incidence of PD is rapidly escalating worldwide. Numerous studies have been conducted on the application of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in investigating the substantia nigra (SN) in PD patients. However, to date, no bibliometric analysis has been performed on this specific research area. Therefore, this study aimed to provide a comprehensive analysis of the current status in MRI research on the SN in PD patients. Materials and methods: MRI study records related to the SN in PD patients from 2001 to 2024 were searched by using the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database and then the CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to conduct bibliometric analysis. Results: Our analysis found that the number of published articles related studies on MRI of the SN in PD showed an overall upward trend over the past decade, in which Lehericy, Stephane, Du, Guangwei, and Huang, Xuemei are the top three authors with the most articles. Additionally, United States, China and Germany are the main contributors to MRI studies of SN in PD. And Shanghai Jiao Tong University, University of Florida and Seoul National University are the leading institutions in the field. Finally, the keyword analysis showed that the hotspots and trends of research in this field are mainly concentrated in quantitative susceptibility mapping, neuroimaging, and neuromelanin-sensitive MRI. Conclusion: These analysis identified the most influential authors, institutions, countries and research hotspots in the field of SN-MRI research in PD, which has reference significance for the research interest in this field and provides a new idea for PD prevention.

Background: Research on Coffea arabica focuses on various aspects, including genetics, breeding, climate change resilience, pest and disease management, agronomy, sensory analysis, and sustainability. This study aims to analyze the hotspots, conceptual map and dynamicity, global landscape, and emerging trends in Coffea arabica research (CA-R). Methods: A comprehensive dataset comprising data-driven articles (N = 3967) from 1932 to 2023 was extracted from Scopus using predefined search terms. VOSviewer and Bibliometrix applications were utilized to analyze the data. Thematic evolution was examined by identifying shifts in research focus over time. The global landscape was assessed by examining comparative productivity and collaborative dynamics. Highly-cited CA-R was identified to highlight key findings in specific research areas. Results: The analysis revealed a steady growth of CA-R (annual growth rate = 6.53 %), with strong international collaboration (international co-authorships = 29.35 %) and significant contributions from various countries. Brazil leads the way with 1601 publications, accounting for 28.55 % of the total. Recognizable CA-R focused on important areas such as pollination, shade management, nanotechnology applications, roasting effects, disease management, and environmental impacts. Thematic analysis identified five distinct clusters representing different CA-R themes: "coffee", "coffea," "fermentation," "Coffea arabica," and "climate change." Emerging themes such as "in vitro culture," "sustainable agriculture," "climate change," and "coffee berry borer" were also identified. Conclusion: The current findings enhance our understanding of CA-R and lay the groundwork for future studies in the coffee industry.

Background: Numerous studies have investigated the relationship between gut microbiota (GM) and multiple sclerosis(MS), highlighting the significant role of GM in MS. However, there is a lack of systematic Scientometric analyses published in this specific research area to provide an overall understanding of the current research status. Methods: Perform a scientometric analysis on research conducted between 2010 and 2023 concerning the link between GM and MS using quantitative and visual analysis software (CiteSpace and VOSviewer.). Results: From January 1, 2010, and December 31, 2023, a total of 1019 records about GM and MS were retrieved. The number of publications exhibited a consistent upward trend annually. The United States led in publications, showed the strongest level of collaboration among countries. The University of California, San Francisco stands as the top institution in terms of output, and the most prolific and cited authors were Lloyd H. Kasper and Javier Ochoa-Reparaz from the USA. The research in this field primarily centers on investigating the alterations and associations of GM in MS or EAE, the molecular immunological mechanisms, and the potential of GM-based interventions to provide beneficial effects in MS or EAE. The Keywords co-occurrence network reveals five primary research directions in this field. The most frequently occurring keywords are inflammation, probiotics, diet, dysbiosis, and tryptophan. In recent years, neurodegeneration and neuropsychiatric disorders have been prominent, indicating that the investigation of the mechanisms and practical applications of GM in MS has emerged as a current research focus. Moreover, GM research is progressively extending into the realm of neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases, potentially becoming future research hotspots. Conclusions: This study revealed a data-driven systematic comprehension of research in the field of GM in MS over the past 13 years, highlighted noteworthy research within the field, provided us with a clear understanding of the current research status and future trends, providing a valuable reference for researchers venturing into this domain.

Background: Electroencephalography (EEG) has been rapidly developed and is widely used in both clinical and scientific fields. Original studies on non-invasive EEG in the elderly have been of great importance owing to the global aging trend. The present study aimed to provide a bibliometric overview on current status and trends in this research field. Methods: We searched the Web of Science Core Collection for articles published during 2014 and 2023. Synonyms for EEG and the elderly were combined as a retrieval strategy. Invasive EEG and secondary studies were excluded. Online filters and manual reviews were applied to select eligible articles. Basic bibliometric parameters were analyzed and visualized using VOSviewer and Excel software. Results: A total of 1656 publications were filtered, and 655 of which were finally included. In general, publication counts have steadily increased over the last 10 years. A sharp rise in publications occurred in 2021, and then remained at a high level. Authors and institutions from high-income countries/regions such as the United States of America (USA), China, and Germany were more productive and made significant contributions. Journals specialized in neuroscience, such as Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience, Neurobiology of Aging, and Clinical Neurophysiology, were popular among authors. Articles on aging, Alzheimer's disease (AD), mild cognitive impairment (MCI), dementia, memory, event-related potentials, attention, and the brain were more likely to use EEG. The newer topics included anesthesia, postoperative delirium (POD), confusion assessment method, connectivity, validation, and power. Conclusion: This bibliometric study provides fundamental knowledge on the current status and hot spots of the original studies on EEG in elderly, which is beneficial to researchers in paving future investigations of neuroscience and neural diseases.

The project aimed to conduct an up-to-date and comprehensive bibliometric analysis of robotic surgery to provide a detailed and holistic understanding of the field. Three strategies were employed in the data analysis i.e. search terms were explored in (A) the title, abstract, and keywords and (B) only in the title of the documents. In 3rd part we analyzed the top 100 most cited papers. Vosviewer and R Studio were utilized for detailed bibliometric and network analyses. Strategy one identified 38,469 publications, and strategy two identified 6451 publications from 2001 to 2023. The top authors, universities, countries, sponsors, and sources based on the number of publications were identified for both strategies. The top 100 most cited papers were analyzed, providing the annual number of publications and various citation metrics. Top authors (by number of publications, total citations, h-index, g-index, and m-index), universities, and countries within these highly cited papers, along with their co-authorship networks and dynamics, were examined. Co-words analysis of the top 100 most cited papers revealed the primary focus of these documents across 25 categories. This comprehensive bibliometric analysis of robotic surgery highlighted significant contributions and collaborations in the field, emphasizing the importance of global and collaborative efforts in advancing robotic surgery research.

Background: Recent years have witnessed a rapid growth in research on accidental falls in patients with Parkinson's Disease (PD). However, a comprehensive and systematic bibliometric analysis is still lacking. This study aims to systematically analyze the current status and development trends of research related to accidental falls in patients with PD using bibliometric methods. Methods: We retrieved literature related to accidental falls in patients with PD published between January 1, 2003, and December 31, 2023, from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. Statistical analysis and knowledge mapping of the literature were conducted using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Microsoft Excel software. Results: A total of 3,195 publications related to accidental falls in patients with PD were retrieved. These articles were authored by 13,202 researchers from 3,834 institutions across 87 countries and published in 200 academic journals. Over the past 20 years, the number of published articles and citations has increased annually. The United States and the United Kingdom have the highest number of publications in this field, while Harvard University and Tel Aviv University are the most influential institutions. The Parkinsonism & Related Disorders journal published the highest number of articles, while the Movement Disorders journal had the highest number of citations. The most prolific author is Bloem, Bastiaan R, while the most cited author is Hausdorff, Jeffrey. The main research areas of these publications are Neurosciences, Biomedical, Electrical & Electronic, and Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. Currently, high-frequency keywords related to accidental falls in patients with PD include risk factors, clinical manifestations, and interventions. Prediction and prevention of accidental falls in such patients is a research topic with significant potential and is currently a major focus of research. Conclusion: This study used bibliometric and knowledge mapping analysis to reveal the current research status and hotspots in the field of accidental falls in patients with PD. It also points out directions for future research. This study can provide theoretical support and practical guidance for scholars to further conduct related research.

BACKGROUND: Acanthosis nigricans (AN) is a common skin disease characterized by clear pigmented patches on the folds of the skin. However, the AN research field lacks scientific and comprehensive bibliometric analysis. This article aims to use bibliometric methods to summarize and visualize the distribution patterns, research hotspots, and development trends of AN literature. METHODS: Literature from 1900 to 2024 was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database through AN's thematic search. Using CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Excel 2019, conduct a comprehensive analysis of the number of publications, countries/regions, institutions, authors, journals, highly cited literature, keywords, and so on, and sort out the hotspots and directions of AN. RESULTS: From 1900 to 2024, 1675 publications were included in the bibliometric analysis, showing a steady annual increase in the number of publications. The United States leads in this research field, with the University of Texas System being a key research institution. The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism has the highest number of published papers. The most cited article is "Syndromes of Insulin Resistance and Acanthosis Nigricans: Insulin-Receptor Disorders in Man" (1976). The author Taylor, SI, has published the most papers. "Acanthosis nigricans" is the most frequently occurring keyword. The main research hotspots and frontier areas in AN research are as follows: (1) The relationship between AN and other diseases is a popular research topic; (2) The connection between AN and insulin resistance (IR) is a current research focus; (3) Treatment of AN, with an emphasis on addressing the underlying causes and improving local skin conditions, represents the cutting edge of this field. CONCLUSION: This study summarizes the research trends and hotspots in the field of AN, offering valuable information and insights for scholars focused on AN scientific research, and providing a reference for future research directions.

Despite the increasing number of studies on nanomedicine-based cancer immunotherapy, the overall research trends in this field remain inadequately characterized. This study aims to evaluate the research trends and hotspots in nanomedicine-based cancer immunotherapy through a bibliometric analysis. As of March 31, 2024, relevant publications were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. Analytical tools including VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and an online bibliometric analysis platform were employed. A total of 5,180 publications were analyzed. The study reveals geographical disparities in research output, with China and the United States being the leading contributors. Institutionally, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Sichuan University are prominent contributors. Authorship analysis identifies key researchers, with Liu Zhuang being the most prolific author. "ACS Nano" and the "Journal of Controlled Release and Biomaterials" are identified as the leading journals in the field. Frequently occurring keywords include "cancer immunotherapy" and "drug delivery." Emerging frontiers in the field, such as "mRNA vaccine," "sonodynamic therapy," "oral squamous cell carcinoma," "STING pathway,"and "cGAS-STING pathway," are experiencing rapid growth. This study aims to provide new insights to advance scientific research and clinical applications in nanomedicine-based cancer immunotherapy.
