RESUMEN

Workforce well-being and associated factors such as burnout, depression and documentation burden, have been identified as the highest concerns to be addressed. In academia, the new essentials of nursing practice including domain 8 for informatics and healthcare technology have become a focus for curricular revisions/enhancements. Our study focused on technology skills by using the technology of an academic EHR to measure baselines and progression of EHR use, sense of confidence, documentation competency, and post-graduation employer-based performance assessment. We provide results of an ongoing 1.5-year study and overarching strategy for university-wide deployment and financing.

Background: Aircraft software loading tools evolved as enhanced floppy disks and different types of portable data loaders emerged into the modern world. However, there was a lack of academic research centered on the usability of those tools. Objective: This study analyzed the usability of three aircraft software loading tools: floppy disks, Teledyne PMAT, and MBS mini PDL. Methods: A total of 20 avionics technicians answered 10 System Usability Scale (SUS) indicators and performed the software loading task. These professionals completed three sets of SUS questionnaires, one set for each software tool. Results: Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) indicated that there were statistical differences in SUS score and completion time. The comparable SUS score and completion time pertained to the following tools: floppy disks & MBS mini PDL and Teledyne PMAT & MBS mini PDL. Pearson correlation analysis noted a significant positive relationship between SUS score & software tool. Moreover, there was a significant negative relationship between SUS score & completion time and software tool & completion time. However, avionics technicians' years of experience lacked a significant impact on SUS score and completion time. Ultimately, it was recommended to utilize MBS mini PDL. This aircraft loading tool had the most significant impact, highest SUS score, and fastest completion time. Conclusions: The researchers presented managerial implications if MBS mini PDL was utilized, including sales increase and overhead cost savings. Finally, this research was the first study that analyzed the usability of the commonly used aircraft software loading tools.

Human emotions can be seen as a valuable variable to explore in Human-Computer Interaction for effective, efficient, and satisfying interface development. The inclusion of appropriate emotional triggers in the design of interactive systems can play a decisive role in users' acceptance or rejection. It is well known that the major problem in motor rehabilitation is the high dropout rate resulting from the frustrated expectations given the typical slow recovery process and consequent lack of motivation to endure. This work proposes grouping a collaborative robot with one specific augmented reality equipment to create a rehabilitation system where some gamification levels might be added to provide a better and more motivating experience to patients. Such a system, as a whole, is customizable to adapt to each patient's needs on the rehabilitation exercises. By transforming a tedious exercise into a game, we expect to create an additional layer of enjoyment that can help in triggering positive emotions and stimulate users to continue the rehabilitation process. A pre-prototype was developed to validate this system's usability, and a cross-sectional study using a non-probabilistic sample of 31 individuals is presented and discussed. This study included the application of three standard questionnaires on usability and user experience. The analyses of these questionnaires show that the majority of the users found the system easy and enjoyable. The system was also analysed by a rehabilitation expert who gave a positive output regarding its usefulness, and positive impact on its use in the upper-limb rehabilitation processes. These results clearly encourage further development of the proposed system.

BACKGROUND: Usability is essential for the acceptance and success of vitiligo patient registry system. Poor usability could decrease system efficiency and effectiveness, and have a negative impact on using the system and providing services. This study aims to evaluate the usability of vitiligo patient registry system. METHODS: This pilot study was conducted in 2021. In total, 17 users who were working in the vitiligo ward participated in the study. System usability scale (SUS) was used to evaluate the usability of vitiligo patient registry system. RESULTS: In the usability evaluation stage, the mean score of the system usability scale was obtained as 77.79. CONCLUSION: Developing vitiligo patient registry system with high usability and making decisions based on the registered data could provide better understanding of this disease and facilitate research in this field. Application of this system and its acceptance by users could decrease costs and increase effectiveness and quality of services.

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a physical shutdown of all types of educational institutes worldwide due to which the education delivery has now shifted to an "online only" exclusivity model. In this perspective, perceived usability of the online learning platforms that are currently being used is an important aspect, especially due to the absence of any physical classes. In this work Microsoft Teams is used as the reference platform for which the perceived usability is evaluated. For the evaluation purpose a dual strategy is followed by using the System Usability Scale (SUS), which is a Human Computer Interaction (HCI) based approach, and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which is an Information Systems (IS) based approach. Although both these instruments are popular in their respective domains, yet they have not been considered simultaneously in one work for the purpose of usability evaluation. By doing so, this work attempts to streamline and unify the process of usability evaluation. Results that are obtained from a large-scale survey of university students show the similarity and equivalency between the two methodologies, with the Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) construct of TAM having greater similarity with SUS. Moreover, this work also considers the digital-divide aspect (mobile vs. web environment) that is prevalent particularly in developing countries like India, and whether it has any effect on the perceived usability. Results show that the consumption platform does not have any effect on the usability aspect.

RESUMEN

A new web-based education-oriented magnetic resonance (MR) simulator is presented. We have identified the main requirements that this simulator should comply with, so that trainees can face useful practical tasks such as setting the exact slice position and its properties, selecting the correct protocol or fitting the parameters to acquire an image. The tool follows the client-server model. The client contains the interface that mimics the console of a real machine and several of its features. The server stores anatomical models and executes the bulk of the simulation. This cross-platform simulator has been used in two real educational scenarios. The acceptance of the tool has been measured using two criteria, namely, the System Usability Scale and the Likelihood to Recommend, both with satisfactory results. Therefore, we conclude that given the potential of the tool, it may play a relevant role for the training of MRI operators and other involved personnel.

RESUMEN

The modified System Usability Scale (SUS) is a widely used generic measure of product usability. This study concerns the usability of mobile shower commodes using correlations between the SUS and AT device-specific measures. Results suggest the modified SUS, and corresponding adjective-anchored rating scale, are appropriate for measuring MSC usability, and have potential for use with other AT devices.

RESUMEN

This paper presents the results of research that applies cognitive therapies associated with memory and mathematical problem-solving in elderly people. The exercises are programmed in an iPad and can be performed both from the Tablet and in an interactive format with a LEGO robot. The system has been tested with 2 men and 7 women over the age of 65 who have slight physical and cognitive impairment. Evaluation with the SUS resulted in a mean of 48.45 with a standard deviation of 5.82. The score of overall satisfaction was 84.37 with a standard deviation of 18.6. Interaction with the touch screen caused some usability problems due to the elderly people's visual difficulties and clicking accuracy. Future versions will include visualization with more color contrast and less use of the keyboard.
