RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: With advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of lung diseases, lung segment surgery has become increasingly common. Postoperative rehabilitation is critical for patient recovery, yet challenges such as complications and adverse outcomes persist. Incorporating humanized nursing modes and novel treatments like nitric oxide inhalation may enhance recovery and reduce postoperative complications. AIM: To evaluate the effects of a humanized nursing mode combined with nitric oxide inhalation on the rehabilitation outcomes of patients undergoing lung surgery, focusing on pulmonary function, recovery speed, and overall treatment costs. METHODS: A total of 79 patients who underwent lung surgery at a tertiary hospital from March 2021 to December 2021 were divided into a control group (n = 39) receiving a routine nursing program and an experimental group (n = 40) receiving additional humanized nursing interventions and atomized inhalation of nitric oxide. Key indicators were compared between the two groups alongside an analysis of treatment costs. RESULTS: The experimental group demonstrated significant improvements in pulmonary function, reduced average recovery time, and lower total treatment costs compared to the control group. Moreover, the quality of life in the experimental group was significantly better in the 3 months post-surgery, indicating a more effective rehabilitation process. CONCLUSION: The combination of humanized nursing mode and nitric oxide inhalation in postoperative care for lung surgery patients significantly enhances pulmonary rehabilitation outcomes, accelerates recovery, and reduces economic burden. This approach offers a promising reference for improving patient care and rehabilitation efficiency following lung surgery.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Uterine fibroids, are prevalent benign tumors affecting women of reproductive age. However, surgical treatment is often necessary for symptomatic hysteromyoma cases. This study examines the impact of humanized nursing care on reducing negative emotions and postoperative complications in patients receiving hysteromyoma surgery. AIM: To investigate the impact of humanized nursing care on patients undergoing hysteromyoma surgery. METHODS: Among patients who underwent hysteromyoma surgery at the Fudan University Affiliated Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, 200 were randomly assigned to either the control group (n = 100) or the humanized nursing care group (n = 100). The control group received traditional nursing care, while the humanized nursing care group received a comprehensive care plan encompassing psychological support, pain management, and tailored rehabilitation programs. In addition, anxiety and depression levels were assessed using the hospital anxiety and depression scale preoperatively and postoperatively. Postoperative complications were evaluated during follow-up assessments and compared between both groups. RESULTS: The humanized nursing care group demonstrated a significant decrease in anxiety and depression levels compared to the control group (P < 0.05). The rate of postoperative complications, including infection, bleeding, and deep venous thrombosis, was also markedly lower in the humanized nursing care group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Humanized nursing care can effectively alleviate negative emotions and reduce the incidence of postoperative complications in patients undergoing hysteromyoma surgery. This approach should be considered a crucial component of perioperative care for these patients. Further research may be needed to explore additional benefits and long-term outcomes of implementing humanized nursing care in this population.

RESUMEN

ObjectiveTo investigate the level of humanized nursing abilities of nursing staff in rehabilitation department, and to explore the relationship with attitudes toward the persons with disabilities and work achievement. MethodsFrom December, 2020 to March, 2021, 196 nursing staff in rehabilitation department in eight tertiary hospitals in Jinzhou, Panjin, Yingkou and Fushun in Liaoning, China were investigated with attitude of healthcare professionals toward persons with disability scale, work achievement scale and Healthcare Professional Humanization Scale for Nursing (HUMAS). ResultsThe score of HUMAS was (73.39±10.75), and the average score of total items was (3.86±0.57). The scores of attitudes toward the persons with disabilities and work achievement positively correlated with the score of HUMAS (r = 0.208~0.774, P < 0.01). Work achievement partially mediated the attitudes toward the persons with disabilities and the humanized nursing abilities, with mediating effect of 0.420, accounting for 52.83% of the total effect. ConclusionThe humanized nursing ability of nursing staff in rehabilitation department needs to be improved. The better the attitudes toward the persons with disabilities are, the higher the work achievements are, the higher the humanized nursing abilities are. Attitudes toward the persons with disabilities among nursing staff in rehabilitation department may not only directly affect humanized nursing abilities, but also indirectly affect the humanized nursing abilities through the sense of work achievement.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To explore the impact of humanized nursing care on negative emotions and quality of life (QOL) of patients with mental disorders. METHODS: Among the 112 patients with mental disorders treated in our hospital from July, 2017 to November, 2019, 53 who received routine care served as the control group and 59 who received humanized nursing care were in the observation group. Changes in self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and self-rating depression scale (SDS) scores were compared for mental status assessment, and the generic quality of life inventory-74 (GQOL-74) was used to evaluate their QOL. Besides, patient satisfaction, scores of activity of daily living (ADL) scale and mini-mental state examination (MMSE) were compared after intervention. RESULTS: After intervention, patients in the observation group had higher scores in the self-rating anxiety scale, self-rating depression scale, the generic quality of life inventory-74, and mini-mental state examination, and lower scores in the activities of daily living scale; they also presented a higher overall satisfaction than those in control group. CONCLUSION: Humanized nursing care contributes to the relief of negative emotions and the enhancement of quality of life of patients with mental disorders, which is worth popularizing in clinical nursing services.

RESUMEN

@#<p style="text-align: justify;">The aim of this qualitative research was to identify the meaning of wholistic humanized nursing care, to identify the professional process of cultivating a humanistic mind, and to create the Cultivating Humanizing Nursing Care Model based on the experiences of nursing students and nurse instructors of Boromarajonani College of Nursing Saraburi. Data were collected from 3 focus group discussions, 50 nursing students, selected key informants from the 1st to 4th years, as well as 6 nursing instructors, using purposive sampling. In addition, in-depth interview from 4 instructors was conducted. The interviews data were transcribed and content analyzed. Nursing students perceived holistic humanized care as the high quality provided to patients and their families through unconditional love and compassion; competence, commitment along with empathy and sympathy, confidence and confidentiality. The nursing instructors perceived wholistic humanized care as a will to care directly for nursing students and patients, cultivate a humanistic caring mind in their students through the process of serving as role models to them, and equipping them with sufficient skills and knowledge, positive attitude toward nursing; and sustaining a close collaboration with them in preparing them to be future nurses and nursing instructors who possess a humanistic caring mind. The nursing students perceived wholistic humanized care as a way to show generosity in providing quality nursing acre to their patients, and a way to care for them through understanding their feelings, attitudes and thoughts, and providing to their needs with love and compassion. In conclusion, humanized care concepts proposed by theorists are an eye opener but to realize the true meaning of the concept the students need to have hand-on experiences which can only acquire from practicum and interaction with patients, and their nursing instructors. A Model for Cultivating a Humanistic Caring Mind in Nursing Students was therefore proposed in this study, and an experimental research to test this model has been recommended.</p>
