Bispectral index with density spectral array (BIS-DSA) monitoring during hyperbaric oxygen therapy of a case with inner ear and cerebral decompression sickness is described. During the initial treatment, a particular DSA pattern was found, which resolved after four treatments. Clinical resolution of the symptoms accompanied this improvement. The particular BIS-DSA pattern described in this case is concordant with a potential hypo-perfusion of the cortex related to decompression stress. This case suggests that BIS-DSA monitoring may be an easy, cost-effective, and viable form of neuro-monitoring during hyperbaric oxygen treatment for decompression sickness.

The distribution of pulmonary blood flow is uneven and can be described as a three-zone model, the West zones: zone 1 occurs whenever alveolar pressure exceeds arterial pressure; zone 2 when the arterial pressure is greater than alveolar but the alveolar pressure exceeds the venous pressure; and finally zone 3 when both arterial and venous pressures exceed alveolar pressure. Consequently, the blood flow is almost determined by the difference between the arterial and venous pressures in zone 3 and between arterial and alveolar pressures in zone 2 and ceases in zone 1. The understanding of this subject may be difficult to some medical students. Therefore, to improve the learning of this topic in our physiology course, we used a didactic model to demonstrate the core concept of flow down gradients and its application to pulmonary blood flow. We modeled a Starling resistor by placing a collapsible tube inside a hermetic chamber of variable pressure. Transparent turbine flowmeters were connected to the upstream and downstream extremities of the Starling resistor, and we generated a constant airflow with a brushless motor. By maintaining the input (arterial) pressure constant and varying the chamber (alveolar) pressure, we could simulate the three zones and demonstrate the resulting flow through the turbines. In conclusion, our demonstration using a Starling resistor model combined with visible turbine flowmeters can be used to facilitate comprehension of important concepts in physiology involving flow down gradients, such as pulmonary blood flow.NEW & NOTEWORTHY The understanding of respiratory physiology is a challenge to medical students. To improve the learning of pulmonary blood flow distribution through lung vessels in our physiology course, we modeled a Starling resistor model combined with visible turbine flowmeters. Our model can significantly improve the core concept of flow down gradients teaching and its application to West zones.

The objectives of this study were (1) to investigate the effects of the preovulatory follicle (POF) size on the accuracy of Doppler-based early pregnancy detection, and (2) to determine whether the removal of PGF2α (PGF) treatment during the resynchronisation protocol would affect fertility in beef cows. In Experiment 1, Nelore suckling cows (n = 224) were enrolled in an estradiol-progesterone-based timed artificial insemination (TAI) protocol. At TAI, cows were separated based on the range of POF diameters, as follows: ≤11.0 mm (n = 50), 11.1-12.9 mm (n = 64), 13.0-14.4 mm (n = 62) and ≥14.5 mm (n = 48). On day 22 after TAI, the corpus luteum (CL) blood flow (CLBF) of all cows was examined by colour Doppler ultrasonography to diagnose nonpregnant cows. The cows with the largest POF had the greatest positive predictive value (88.6%; 31 of 35) and diagnostic accuracy (91.7%; 44 of 48). In Experiment 2, Nelore cows (n = 233) were subjected to the same TAI protocol. Fourteen days after TAI, all cows were started on a resynchronisation protocol. Cows diagnosed as nonpregnant based on CLBF, on day 22, received 0.5 mg estradiol cypionate intramuscular (im) and were assigned to receive either 150 µg of PGF (PGF; n = 50) or 2 mL of saline (control; n = 47). Cows treated with PGF had a P/AI of 30.0% compared with a 48.9% P/AI in controls (p = 0.06). Our findings demonstrate that the POF size affects the accuracy of a CLBF-based early pregnancy diagnosis and that the removal of PGF treatment from the resynchronisation protocol tended to increase P/AI of the second TAI.

BACKGROUND: The addition of blood flow restriction therapy (BFRT) to exercise in patients with olecranon fracture treated surgically has not been described in the literature. PURPOSE: To describe the effects and safety of BFRT exercises in the postoperative rehabilitation of a patient with olecranon fracture. CASE PRESENTATION: A 27-year-old male with a surgically treated olecranon fracture completed a 12-week postoperative physical therapy programme. The assessment was performed at the start of rehabilitation, 4 and 12 weeks. The patient had elbow pain, decreased active range of motion (AROM), reduced handgrip strength, and limited physical function. The patient was treated with low-intensity resistance exercises with BFRT. The BFRT was applied with three exercises per stage, at 50% of the limb occlusion pressure and 75 repetitions per exercise. At discharge from physical therapy, improvements were observed in pain intensity (5.9-1.4 cm), AROM of elbow flexion (88°-137°) and extension (-22°--2°), AROM of forearm pronation (18°-68°) and supination (34°-78°), handgrip strength (8 kg-47 kg), physical function (22.9%-89.6%), and disability (72.7%-13.6%). These changes reached the minimal clinically important difference at the time of discharge for all measures, except for extension, pronation, and supination AROM. CONCLUSION: The addition of BFRT to exercise was effective in improving pain, elbow, and wrist AROM, handgrip strength, function, and disability in a patient with surgically treated olecranon fracture. Despite the inherent limitations of our design, we believe these preliminary findings are compelling to warrant future investigations.

The two-kidney, one-clip (2K1C) Goldblatt rodent model elicits a reduction in renal blood flow (RBF) in the clipped kidney (CK). The reduced RBF and oxygen bio-ability causes the accumulation of the tricarboxylic cycle intermediary, α-ketoglutarate, which activates the oxoglutarate receptor-1 (OXGR1). In the kidney, OXGR1 is abundantly expressed in intercalated cells (ICs) of the collecting duct (CD), thus contributing to sodium transport and electrolyte balance. The (pro)renin receptor (PRR), a member of the renin-angiotensin system (RAS), is a key regulator of sodium reabsorption and blood pressure (BP) that is expressed in ICs. The PRR is upregulated in 2K1C rats. Here, we tested the hypothesis that chronic reduction in RBF in the CK leads to OXGR1-dependent PRR upregulation in the CD and alters sodium balance and BP in 2K1C mice. To determine the role of OXGR1 in regulating the PRR in the CDs during renovascular hypertension, we performed 2K1C Goldblatt surgery (clip = 0.13 mm internal gap, 14 days) in two groups of male mice: (1) mice treated with Montelukast (OXGR1 antagonist; 5 mg/Kg/day); (2) OXGR1-/- knockout mice. Wild-type and sham-operated mice were used as controls. After 14 days, 2K1C mice showed increased systolic BP (SBP) (108 ± 11 vs. control 82 ± 5 mmHg, p < 0.01) and a lower natriuretic response after the saline challenge test. The CK group showed upregulation of erythropoietin, augmented α-ketoglutarate, and increased PRR expression in the renal medulla. The CK of OXGR1 knockout mice and mice subjected to the OXGR1 antagonist elicited impaired PRR upregulation, attenuated SBP, and better natriuretic responses. In 2K1C mice, the effect of reduced RBF on the OXGR1-dependent PRR upregulation in the CK may contribute to the anti-natriuretic and increased SBP responses.

Background: Arterial occlusion pressure (AOP) is a relevant measurement for individualized prescription of exercise with blood flow restriction (BFRE). Therefore, it is important to consider factors that may influence this measure. Purpose: This study aimed to compare lower limb AOP (LL-AOP) measured with 11 cm (medium) and 18 cm (large) cuffs, in different body positions, and explore the predictors for each of the LL-AOP measurements performed. This information may be useful for future studies that seek to develop approaches to improve the standardization of pressure adopted in BFRE, including proposals for equations to estimate LL-AOP. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study. Fifty-one healthy volunteers (males, n = 25, females, n = 26; Age: 18-40 years old) underwent measurement of thigh circumference (TC), brachial blood pressure, followed by assessments of LL-AOP with medium and large cuffs in positions supine, sitting and standing positions. Results: The large cuff required less external pressure (mmHg) to elicit arterial occlusion in all three-body positions when compared to the medium cuff (p < 0.001). The LL-AOP was significantly lower in the supine position, regardless of the cuff used (p < 0.001). Systolic blood pressure was the main predictor of LL-AOP in the large cuff, while TC was the main predictor of LL-AOP with the medium cuff. Body position influenced strength of the LL-AOP predictors. Conclusion: Our results indicate that LL-AOP and its predictors are substantially influenced by body position and cuff width. Therefore, these variables should be considered when standardizing the pressure prescribed in BFRE.

BACKGROUND: Dynamic arterial elastance (Eadyn) has been investigated for its ability to predict hypotension during the weaning of vasopressors. Our study focused on assessing Eadyn's performance in the context of critically ill adult patients admitted to the intensive care unit, regardless of diagnosis. MAIN BODY: Our study was conducted in accordance with the Preferred Reported Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis checklist. The protocol was registered in PROSPERO (CRD42023421462) on May 26, 2023. We included prospective observational studies from the MEDLINE and Embase databases through May 2023. Five studies involving 183 patients were included in the quantitative analysis. We extracted data related to patient clinical characteristics, and information about Eadyn measurement methods, results, and norepinephrine dose. Most patients (76%) were diagnosed with septic shock, while the remaining patients required norepinephrine for other reasons. The average pressure responsiveness rate was 36.20%. The synthesized results yielded an area under the curve of 0.85, with a sensitivity of 0.87 (95% CI 0.74-0.93), specificity of 0.76 (95% CI 0.68-0.83), and diagnostic odds ratio of 19.07 (95% CI 8.47-42.92). Subgroup analyses indicated no variations in the Eadyn based on norepinephrine dosage, the Eadyn measurement device, or the Eadyn diagnostic cutoff to predict cessation of vasopressor support. CONCLUSIONS: Eadyn, evaluated through subgroup analyses, demonstrated good predictive ability for the discontinuation of vasopressor support in critically ill patients.

This study evaluated the relationship between CL features assessed by ultrasound (luteal tissue area and blood flow, BF) or rectal palpation (size), uterine tone (UT), plasma progesterone (P4) concentration on Day 7 (D7) and subsequent pregnancy outcomes in bovine embryo recipients. A total of 163 cows and heifers were included in this study. The expected day of ovulation after the synchronization protocol was designated as D0. On D7, ovaries and uterus were examined by ultrasonography and rectal palpation, and subjective scores (1-3 scale) were assigned for CL size, area and BF, and for UT. Blood samples were collected for further P4 analysis. Each embryo recipient then received a grade I frozen-thawed in vivo-produced blastocyst, which was transferred to the uterine horn ipsilateral to the CL. Pregnancy diagnosis was performed on D35, and the results were retrospectively compared with the assigned scores for CL and UT. We observed a significant (p < .02) interaction between CL size and UT, with a progressive increase in the likelihood of pregnancy for recipients bearing a large CL among those with turgid UT. Ultrasound scoring of the CL using B-mode and Doppler-mode did not significantly predict pregnancy rates on D35 (p < .6 and p < .5, respectively). However, logistic regression analysis revealed a trend towards a quadratic effect (p < .08 and p < .06) indicating that the probability of pregnancy varied according to the area of luteal tissue and P4 concentrations, respectively. No significant (p > .05) association was found between the probability of pregnancy and the BF area of the CL. In summary, UT before embryo transfer may reflect successful recipient synchronization. Elevated P4 levels, assessed by CL size, may offset uterine contractility, mitigating adverse effects. Additionally, the CL area may be more important than its vascularization area when evaluating recipients D7 after ovulation.

Various non-invasive images are used in clinical practice for the diagnosis and prognostication of chronic coronary syndromes. Notably, quantitative myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) through positron emission tomography (PET) has seen significant technical advancements and a substantial increase in its use over the past two decades. This progress has generated an unprecedented wealth of clinical information, which, when properly applied, can diagnose and fine-tune the management of patients with different types of ischemic syndromes. This state-of-art review focuses on quantitative PET MPI, its integration into clinical practice, and how it holds up at the eyes of modern cardiac imaging and revascularization clinical trials, along with future perspectives.

BACKGROUND: Cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are complex lesions that can cause hemorrhagic stroke and significant neurological disability. Adenosine induces cardiac standstill and hypotension, which are thought to be useful during cerebral AVM embolization. Herein, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of the technique's safety. METHODS: Following PRISMA guidelines, four databases were queried for studies describing the use of adenosine-assisted embolization of cerebral AVMs. Adenosine-related intraoperative complications, permanent neurological outcomes, morbidity, and mortality assessed the technique's safety. Single proportion analysis under a random-effects model was performed. Heterogeneity was assessed using I² statistics, and publication bias was evaluated through funnel plot analysis and Egger's regression test. RESULTS: Ten studies were included, involving 79 patients (55.7% male) with 79 AVMs (54.4% unruptured and 70.9% Spetzler-Martin grade III-V) who underwent 123 embolizations (80.4% and 5.9% under transarterial and transvenous approaches, respectively) with n-butyl cyanoacrylate (80.4%), ethylene vinyl alcohol (14.4%), or both (5.2%). The incidence of transient adenosine-related intraoperative complications was 0% (95% CI 0% to 3%, I2=24%). Besides, the incidence of adenosine-related morbidity, mortality, and permanent outcomes was 0% (95% CI 0% to 3%, I2=0%). During follow-up, good functional outcomes were reported for 64 patients (81%). CONCLUSIONS: Adenosine's effects on blood flow control can facilitate embolization and mitigate the risk of AVM rupture and embolic agent migration. Although current evidence stems from observational studies, the results of this meta-analysis suggest a safe drug profile due to minimal associated morbidity and mortality. Further research from larger randomized and controlled studies is warranted to attain a higher level of evidence. PROSPERO REGISTRY NUMBER: CRD42023494116.

BACKGROUND: Physics-informed neural networks (PINNs) have emerged as a powerful tool for solving inverse problems, especially in cases where no complete information about the system is known and scatter measurements are available. This is especially useful in hemodynamics since the boundary information is often difficult to model, and high-quality blood flow measurements are generally hard to obtain. METHODS: In this work, we use the PINNs methodology for estimating reduced-order model parameters and the full velocity field from scatter 2D noisy measurements in the aorta. Two different flow regimes, stationary and transient were studied. RESULTS: We show robust and relatively accurate parameter estimations when using the method with simulated data, while the velocity reconstruction accuracy shows dependence on the measurement quality and the flow pattern complexity. Comparison with a Kalman filter approach shows similar results when the number of parameters to be estimated is low to medium. For a higher number of parameters, only PINNs were capable of achieving good results. CONCLUSION: The method opens a door to deep-learning-driven methods in the simulations of complex coupled physical systems.

PURPOSE: Central and peripheral chemoreceptors are hypersensitized in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. Whether this autonomic alteration occurs in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) remains little known. We test the hypothesis that the central and peripheral chemoreflex control of muscle sympathetic nerve activity (MSNA) is altered in HFpEF. METHODS: Patients aged 55-80 years with symptoms of heart failure, body mass index ≤ 35 kg/m2, left ventricular ejection fraction > 50%, left atrial volume index > 34 mL/m2, left ventricular early diastolic filling velocity and early diastolic tissue velocity of mitral annulus ratio (E/e' index) ≥ 13, and BNP levels > 35 pg/mL were included in the study (HFpEF, n = 9). Patients without heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (non-HFpEF, n = 9), aged-paired, were also included in the study. Peripheral chemoreceptors stimulation (10% O2 and 90% N2, with CO2 titrated) and central chemoreceptors stimulation (7% CO2 and 93% O2) were conducted for 3 min. MSNA was evaluated by microneurography technique, and forearm blood flow (FBF) by venous occlusion plethysmography. RESULTS: During hypoxia, MSNA responses were greater (p < 0.001) and FBF responses were lower in patients with HFpEF (p = 0.006). Likewise, MSNA responses during hypercapnia were higher (p < 0.001) and forearm vascular conductance (FVC) levels were lower (p = 0.030) in patients with HFpEF. CONCLUSIONS: Peripheral and central chemoreflex controls of MSNA are hypersensitized in patients with HFpEF, which seems to contribute to the increase in MSNA in these patients. In addition, peripheral and central chemoreceptors stimulation in patients with HFpEF causes muscle vasoconstriction.

Most of the responses present in animals when exposed to stressors are mediated by the autonomic nervous system. The sympathetic nervous system, known as the one responsible for the "fight or flight" reaction, triggers cardiovascular changes such as tachycardia or vasomotor alterations to restore homeostasis. Increase in body temperature in stressed animals also activates peripheral compensatory mechanisms such as cutaneous vasodilation to increase heat exchange. Since changes in skin blood flow influence the amount of heat dissipation, infrared thermography is suggested as a tool that can detect said changes. The present review aims to analyze the application of infrared thermography as a method to assess stress-related autonomic activity, and their association with the cardiovascular and heart rate variability in domestic animals.

BACKGROUND: The prognosis of patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and previous percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is uncertain. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate if previous PCI in patients with STEMI increases the risk of major cardiovascular events, and if final epicardial blood flow differs according to the reperfusion strategy. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Observational, longitudinal, comparative sub-study of the PHASE-MX trial that included patients with STEMI and reperfusion within 12 hours of symptom onset, who were classified according to their history of PCI. The occurrence of the composite primary endpoint (cardiovascular death, re-infarction, congestive heart failure and cardiogenic shock) within 30 days was evaluated using Kaplan-Meier estimates, log-rank test and Cox proportional hazards model. Epicardial blood flow was assessed using the TIMI grading system after reperfusion. RESULTS: A total of 935 patients were included; 85.6% were males and 6.9% had a history of PCI; 53% underwent pharmacoinvasive therapy, and 47%, primary PCI. The incidence of the composite primary endpoint at 30 days in patients with a history of PCI was 9.8% vs 13.3% in those with no previous PCI (p = 0.06). Among the patients with previous PCI, 87.1% reached a final TIMI grade 3 flow after primary PCI vs. 75% in the group with pharmacoinvasive strategy (p = 0.235). CONCLUSIONS: A history of PCI does not increase the risk of major cardiovascular events at 30 days; however, it impacted negatively on the final angiographic blood flow of patients that received pharmacoinvasive therapy (compared to primary PCI).
ANTECEDENTES: El pronóstico de los pacientes con infarto agudo de miocardio con elevación del segmento ST (IAMCEST) y antecedente de intervención coronaria percutánea (ICP) es incierto. Objetivos: Evaluar si la ICP previa en pacientes con IAMCEST incrementa el riesgo de eventos cardiovasculares mayores y si el flujo final epicárdico varía según la estrategia de reperfusión. MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: Subestudio de PHASE-MX, observacional, longitudinal y comparativo, de pacientes con IAMCEST reperfundidos en menos de 12 horas de iniciados los síntomas, divididos conforme el antecedente de ICP. El acaecimiento del criterio de valoración principal (muerte cardiovascular, reinfarto, insuficiencia cardíaca y choque cardiogénico) dentro de los 30 días se comparó con estimaciones de Kaplan-Meier, prueba de rangos logarítmicos y modelo de riesgos proporcionales de Cox. El flujo epicárdico final se evaluó con el sistema de clasificación del flujo TIMI después de la reperfusión. RESULTADOS: Se incluyeron 935 pacientes, 85.6 % del sexo masculino, 6.9 % de los cuales tenía antecedente de ICP; 53 % recibió terapia farmacoinvasiva y 47 %, ICP primaria. La incidencia del criterio de valoración principal en pacientes con ICP previa fue de 9.8 % versus 13.3 % en aquellos sin ese antecedente (p = 0.06); 87.1 % de los pacientes con ICP previa obtuvo flujo final de grado TIMI 3 versus 75 % del grupo con estrategia farmacoinvasiva (p = 0.235). CONCLUSIONES: El antecedente de ICP no incrementa el riesgo de eventos cardiovasculares mayores a los 30 días en pacientes con IAMCEST; sin embargo, impacta negativamente en el flujo sanguíneo angiográfico final de los pacientes que recibieron terapia farmacoinvasiva (en comparación con ICP primaria).

It is unclear whether muscle blood flow (MBF) is altered in long-term Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) survivors. We tested the hypothesis that 1) MBF response during mental stress (MS) is impaired in long-term HL survivors and 2) aerobic exercise training combined with local strength exercise (ET) restores MBF responses during MS in these survivors. Eighteen 5-year HL survivors and 10 aged-paired healthy subjects (HC) were studied. Twenty HL survivors were randomly divided into two groups: exercise-trained (HLT, n = 10) and untrained (HLUT, n = 10). Maximal aerobic capacity was evaluated by a cardiopulmonary exercise test and forearm blood flow (FBF) by venous occlusion plethysmography. MS was elicited by Stroop color and word test. ET was conducted for 4 mo, 3/wk for 60 min each session. The aerobic exercise intensity corresponded to anaerobic threshold up to 10% below the respiratory compensation point. The strength exercises consisted of two to three sets of chest press, pulley and squat exercises, 12-15 repetitions each exercise at 30-50% of the maximal voluntary contraction. Baseline was similar in HL survivors and HC, except peak oxygen consumption (peak VÌo2, P = 0.013) and FBF (P = 0.006) that were lower in the HL survivors. FBF responses during MS were lower in HL survivors (P < 0.001). ET increased peak VÌo2 (11.59 ± 3.07%, P = 0.002) and FBF at rest (33.74 ± 5.13%, P < 0.001) and during MS (24 ± 5.31%, P = 0.001). Further analysis showed correlation between the changes in peak VÌo2 and the changes in FBF during MS (r = 0.711, P = 0.001). In conclusion, long-term HL survivors have impaired MBF responses during MS. ET restores MBF responses during MS.NEW & NOTEWORTHY Long-term Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) survivors have impaired muscle blood flow responses during mental stress and decreased maximal aerobic capacity. Supervised aerobic exercise training combined with local strength exercises restores muscle blood flow responses during mental stress and maximal aerobic capacity in these survivors. These findings provide evidence of safety and effectiveness of exercise training in HL survivors. Moreover, they highlight the importance of exercise training in the treatment of this set of patients.

The aim of this review was to verify the effects of aerobic exercise combined with blood flow restriction on older adult functionality. Systematic searches were performed in PubMed, Web of Science, and Embase between July and December 2023. Randomized studies with participants aged ≥ 60 years who were evaluated before and after the experimental protocols were included. We registered this systematic review at the International Prospective Register (PROSPERO CRD42022347205). The search strategy identified 2698 studies, four of which were included in the review, with 80 participants. The results suggested that aerobic exercise combined with blood flow restriction increased performance on specific functional tests. However, these results should be interpreted with caution due to the low-to-moderate study quality, as well as the low number of participants and studies. In conclusion, aerobic exercise and blood flow restriction may increase functional capacity in older adults. Further studies are needed to confirm such findings. (AU)

This study compared the effect of continuous low-intensity aerobic exercise with blood flow restriction (LI-AE-BFR) versus high-intensity interval exercise (HIIE), matching total external mechanical work between conditions, on perceptual (exertion, pain, affective and pleasure) and physiological responses (heart rate [HR], blood lactate [BL] and muscle fatigue). Ten healthy untrained men (25.6 ± 3.78 years old; 75.02 ± 12.02 kg; 172.2 ± 6.76 cm; 24.95 ± 3.16 kg/m²) completed three visits to the laboratory. In visit 1, anthropometry, blood pressure and peak running velocity on the treadmill were measured. In visits 2 and 3, participants were randomly assigned to HIIE or LI-AE-BFR, both in treadmill. HIIE consisted of 10 one-minute stimuli at 80% of peak running velocity interspersed with one-minute of passive recovery. LI-AE-BFR consisted of 20-minutes of continuous walking at 40% of peak running velocity with bilateral cuffs inflated to 50% of arterial occlusion pressure. BL and maximum isometric voluntary contraction (MIVC - fatigue measure) were measured pre- and immediately post-exercise. HR, rating of perceived exertion (RPE), and rating of perceived pain (RPP) were recorded after each stimulus in HIIE and every two minutes in LI-AE-BFR. Affective response to the session, pleasure, and future intention to exercise (FIE) were assessed 10 minutes after the intervention ended. Increases in BL concentrations were greater in HIIE (p = 0.028; r = 0.51). No effects time or condition were reported for MIVC. HR was higher in HIIE at all analyzed time points (p < 0.001; d = 3.1 to 5.2). RPE did not differ between conditions (p > 0.05), while average session RPP was higher in LI-AE-BFR (p = 0.036; r = 0.46). Affective positive response (p = 0.019; d = 0.9) and FIE (p = 0.013; d = 0.97) were significantly higher in HIIE. Therefore, HIIE elicited higher physiological stress, positive affective response, and intention to engage in future exercise bouts compared to LI-AE-BFR.
