Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease(CPID)is a common chronic inflammatory disease in women,and has a long course and is easy to relapse.Danggui Shaoyao Powder is from Jin Gui Yao Lve(Synopsis of the Golden Chamber),which was a commonly-used formula for the treatment of women's abdominal pain in ancient medical records.It is now often used in the treatment of CPID and has achieved satisfactory therapeutic effect.The article summarizes and analyzes the achievements in the clinical research and experimental study of Danggui Shaoyao Powder in the treatment of CPID over the past 10 years,and invesigates the clinical efficacy of Danggui Shaoyao Powder in the treatment of CPID and its therapeutic mechanism.In the field of clinical studies,Danggui Shaoyao Powder for the treatment of CPID was used by modification,or alone,or in combination with antibiotics and Chinese medicine external treatment,and its combined use was effective on significantly improving the indicators of inflammatory response and immune function,alleviating the clinical signs and symptoms such as pain,and did not increase the incidence of adverse reactions compared with the application of western medicines alone.In the field of experimental studies,Danggui Shaoyao Powder played the therapeutic role in CPID by decreasing the adhesion of endothelial cells,regulating the degradation of extracellular matrix,improving the level of inflammatory factors,and down-regulating the expression of proteins related to the nuclear factor κB(NF-κB)pathway.

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the efficacy and mechanisms of recombinant adenovirus containing c-FLIPs (cellular FLICE-inhibitory protein short) in inducing antiapoptosis activation of lymphocyte in vitro.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>c-FLIPs gene was cloned from total RNA of lymphocyte with RT-PCR methods, then constructed recombined adenovirus Ad.c-FLIPs by pAdeasy system. H9 cells infected with Ad.c-FLIPs produced antiapoptosis derived from anti-Apo-1 antibody, and those antiapoptosis evaluated with PI stain flow cytometry (FCM) and Hoechst stain.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>c-FLIPs gene was successfully cloned from lymphocytes and incorporated into recombinant adenovirus Ad.c-FLIPs.After exposure to anti-Apo-1 for 24 h, the apoptosis of H9 cells preconditioned by Ad.c-FLIPs for 24 h as measured by Hochst stain or FCM significantly decreased, compared with non-preconditioned cells, 3.60% +/- 0.21% vs. 48.33% +/- 7.41%, respectively, indicating that Ad.c-FLIPs preconditioning protected H9 cells against apoptosis induced by anti-Apo-1.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Recombinant adenovirus Ad.c-FLIPs effectively induced anti-apoptosis activation of lymphocyte.</p>

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To reconstruct a penis with sensation and erectile function maintained by corpora cavernosa lengthening and skin flap transferring in the penis defect cases.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>The procedure was based on the use of releasing the suspensory ligaments and part of crus, various flaps were designed as coverage material. Penis residual stump was advanced to anterior portion of the newly reconstruction penile body as "glans".</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>40 patients with penis defect have been operated by the above methods. In the cases, length of the penis varied from 0.5-4.0 cm in the flaccid, 1.5-5.0 cm in erect state before operation. And after operation, it turned to 5.0-8.5 cm in the flaccid, 7.0-12.5 cm in erect state. Most of the patients recovered gross tactile sensation and had satisfactory erectile function.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>With this method, the reconstructed penis tends to have a better appearance and function. It's a more optimal method compared with the conventional operation.</p>
