Introduction: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is increasingly becoming a prevalent cause of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Our study examines the burden of MASH-related HCC globally, regionally, and nationally, along with associated risk factors from 1990 to 2019, considering variables such as age, sex, and socioeconomic status. Objective: We aimed to report the global, regional, and national burden of liver cancer due to MASH and its attributable risk factors between 1990 and 2019, by age, sex, and sociodemographic index (SDI). Methods: Utilizing the Global Burden of Disease 2019 project, we analyzed data on prevalence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) for liver cancer attributable to MASH across 204 countries. We provided counts and rates per 100,000 population, including 95% uncertainty intervals. Results: In 2019, there were 46.8 thousand cases of MASH-related HCC, leading to 34.7 thousand deaths, and 795.8 thousand DALYs globally. While the prevalence increased by 19.8% since 1990, the death and DALY rates decreased by 5.3% and 15.1%, respectively. The highest prevalence was in High-income Asia Pacific, with the greatest increases observed in Australasia, Central Asia, and High-income North America. Southern Sub-Saharan Africa reported the highest death rate, while the lowest rates were in parts of Latin America, Central Sub-Saharan Africa, and Eastern Europe. DALY rates were the highest in Southern Sub-Saharan Africa and the lowest in Tropical Latin America. Discussion: The burden of MASH-related HCC is expected to rise slightly over the next decade. This disease, which is not associated with the SDI, remains a major public health problem. In addition, the escalating rates of obesity, demographic shifts, and an aging population could position MASH as a leading factor in liver cancer cases, surpassing viral hepatitis. It is imperative, therefore, that the forthcoming years see the implementation of strategic interventions aimed at the early detection and prevention of liver cancer associated with MASH.

The use of monoclonal antibodies for the control of drug resistant nosocomial bacteria may alleviate a reliance on broad spectrum antimicrobials for treatment of infection. We identify monoclonal antibodies that may prevent infection caused by carbapenem resistant Acinetobacter baumannii. We use human immune repertoire mice (Kymouse platform mice) as a surrogate for human B cell interrogation to establish an unbiased strategy to probe the antibody-accessible target landscape of clinically relevant A. baumannii. After immunisation of the Kymouse platform mice with A. baumannii derived outer membrane vesicles (OMV) we identify 297 antibodies and analyse 26 of these for functional potential. These antibodies target lipooligosaccharide (OCL1), the Oxa-23 protein, and the KL49 capsular polysaccharide. We identify a single monoclonal antibody (mAb1416) recognising KL49 capsular polysaccharide to demonstrate prophylactic in vivo protection against a carbapenem resistant A. baumannii lineage associated with neonatal sepsis mortality in Asia. Our end-to-end approach identifies functional monoclonal antibodies with prophylactic potential against major lineages of drug resistant bacteria accounting for phylogenetic diversity and clinical relevance without existing knowledge of a specific target antigen. Such an approach might be scaled for a additional clinically important bacterial pathogens in the post-antimicrobial era.

BACKGROUND: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a severe postoperative complication in patients undergoing major surgery. Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are used preoperatively as prophylaxis for postoperative gastrointestinal bleeding. Whether preoperative PPI use is associated with an increased risk of postoperative AKI remains uncertain. METHODS: This retrospective cohort study used electronic medical records from the clinical data warehouse of Peking University First Hospital to screen all adult hospitalizations undergoing major surgery between 1 January 2018 and 31 December 2020. Exposure was preoperative PPI use, defined as PPI use within 7 days before major surgery. The primary outcome was postoperative AKI, defined as AKI occurring within 7 days after major surgery; secondary outcomes included in-hospital AKI and in-hospital mortality. RESULTS: A total of 21,533 patients were included in the study (mean [SD] age, 57.8 [15.0] years; 51.2% male), of which 944 (4.4%) were prescribed PPI within 7 days before major surgery (PPI users). Overall, 72 PPI users (7.6%) and 356 non-users (1.7%) developed postoperative AKI. After adjustment, preoperative PPI use was associated with an increased risk of postoperative AKI (adjusted OR, 1.47; 95% CI, 1.04-2.07) and in-hospital AKI (adjusted OR, 1.41; 95% CI, 1.03-1.94). Moreover, subgroup analyses showed that the risk of PPI on postoperative AKI was amplified by the concomitant use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or diuretics. No significant difference was observed between preoperative PPI use and in-hospital mortality in the fully adjusted model (adjusted OR 1.63; 95% CI, 0.55-4.85). CONCLUSIONS: Preoperative PPI use was associated with an increased risk of AKI in patients undergoing major surgery. This risk may be enhanced by the concomitant use of other nephrotoxic drugs. Clinicians should weigh the pros and cons before initiating PPI prophylaxis.

Hybrid breeding between herbaceous peonies (the maternal parent) and tree peonies (the paternal parent) results in Paeonia Itoh hybrids (Itoh peonies), a triploid species that combines advantageous traits from both parental species, thus offering great economic value. However, the exact genetic contribution of the two parents is unclear. In this study, we introduce a straightforward approach utilizing heterozygous SNPs and Sanger sequencing of targeted gene fragments to trace the original bases back to their parents in Itoh peonies. Our results indicate that in triploid Itoh peonies, only one set of genes are derived from herbaceous peonies, and two sets of genes are derived from the tree peonies. Notably, the presence of three distinct bases of heterozygous SNPs across multiple Itoh cultivars suggests that the gametes from the paternal parents carry two sets of heterozygous homologous chromosomes, which could be due to meiosis I failure during gamete formation. To validate our method's effectiveness in parentage determination, we analyzed two Itoh hybrids and their parents, confirming its practical utility. This research presents a method to reveal the parental genetic contribution in Itoh peonies, which could enhance the efficiency and precision of hybrid breeding programs of triploids in Paeonia and other plant species.

Emerging evidence suggests differential antagonism of lactic acid-producing bacteria (LAB) to Helicobacter pylori, posing challenges to human health and food safety due to unclear mechanisms. This study assessed 21 LAB strains from various sources on H. pylori growth, urease activity, and coaggregation. Composite scoring revealed that Latilactobacillus sakei LZ217, derived from fresh milk, demonstrates strong inhibitory effects on both H. pylori growth and urease activity. L. sakei LZ217 significantly reduced H. pylori adherence of gastric cells in vitro, with inhibition ratios of 47.62%. Furthermore, in vivo results showed that L. sakei LZ217 alleviated H. pylori-induced gastric mucosa damage and inflammation in mice. Metabolomic exploration revealed metabolic perturbations in H. pylori induced by L. sakei LZ217, including reduced amino acid levels (e.g., isoleucine, leucine, glutamate, aspartate, and phenylalanine) and impaired carbohydrate and nucleotide synthesis, contributing to the suppression of ureA (28.30%), ureE (84.88%), and ureF (59.59%) expressions in H. pylori. This study underscores the efficacy of LAB against H. pylori and highlights metabolic pathways as promising targets for future interventions against H. pylori growth and colonization.

Recent years have witnessed a surge of interest in tuning the optical properties of organic semiconductors for diverse applications. However, achieving control over the optical bandgap in the second near-infrared (NIR-II) window has remained a major challenge. To address this, here we report a polaron engineering strategy that introduces diverse defects into carbon quantum dots (CQDs). These defects induce lattice distortions resulting in the formation of polarons, which can absorb the near-field scattered light. Furthermore, the formed polarons in N-related vacancies can generate thermal energy through the coupling of lattice vibrations, while the portion associated with O-related defects can return to the ground state in the form of NIR-II fluorescence. On the basis of this optical absorption model, these CQDs have been successfully applied to NIR-II fluorescence imaging and photothermal therapy. This discovery could open a promising route for the polarons of organic semiconductor materials as NIR-II absorbers in nanomedical applications.

Introduction: Many probiotics have the ability to produce extracellular polysaccharides (EPS). EPS derived from these probiotics has been confirmed to regulate the host intestinal microecological balance and alleviate the symptoms of diseases caused by gastrointestinal microecological imbalance. Results: Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) strain with good exopolysaccharide (EPS) producing ability, namely, Lacticaseibacillus paracasei ZFM54 (L. paracasei ZFM54) was screened. The fermentation conditions of L. paracasei ZFM54 for EPS production were optimized. The EPS54 was characterized by chemical component and monosaccharide composition determination, UV, FT-IR and NMR spectra analysis. Cango red, SEM, AFM and XRD analysis were conducted to characterize the structure of EPS54. The EPS54 effectively reduced the colonization of Helicobacter pylori to AGS cells and recovered the cell morphology. EPS54 could also effectively alleviate the gastritis in the H. pylori-infected mice by down-regulating the mRNA expression levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-6, IL-8, IL-1ß and TNF-α and up-regulating the mRNA expression of inflammatory cytokine IL-10 in gastric cells. EPS54 was also found to be able to positively regulate the structure of gastric microbiota. Conclusion: The EPS 54 from L. paracasei ZFM54 can alleviate gastritis in H. pylori-infected mice by modulating the gastric microbiota.

SCOPE: The microbes in breast milk are critical for the early establishment of infant gut microbiota and have important implications for infant health. Breast milk microbes primarily derive from the migration of maternal intestinal microbiota. This review suggests that the regulation of maternal diet on gut microbiota may be an effective strategy to improve infant health. METHODS AND RESULTS: This article reviews the impact of breast milk microbiota on infant development and intestinal health. The close relationship between the microbiota in the maternal gut and breast through the entero-mammary pathway is discussed. Based on the effect of diet on gut microbiota, it is proposed that changing the maternal dietary structure is a new strategy for regulating breast milk microbiota and infant intestinal microbiota, which would have a positive impact on infant health. CONCLUSION: Breast milk microbes have beneficial effects on infant development and regulation of the immune system. The mother's gut and breast can undergo certain bacterial migration through the entero-mammary pathway. Research has shown that intervening in a mother's diet during breastfeeding can affect the composition of the mother's gut microbiota, thereby regulating the microbiota of breast milk and infant intestines, and is closely related to infant health.

Activity-based detection of γ-Glutamyltranspeptidase (GGT) using near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent probes is a promising strategy for early cancer diagnosis. Although NIR pyridinium probes show high performance in biochemical analysis, the aggregation of both the probes and parental fluorochromes in biological environments is prone to result in a low signal-to-noise ratio (SBR), thus affecting their clinical applications. Here, we develop a GGT-activatable aggregate probe called OTBP-G for two-photon fluorescence imaging in various biological environments under 1040 nm excitation. By rationally tunning the hydrophilicity and donor-acceptor strength, we enable a synergistic effect between twisted intramolecular charge transfer and intersystem crossing processes and realize a perfect dark state for OTBP-G before activation. After the enzymatic reaction, the parental fluorochrome exhibits bright aggregation-induced emission peaking at 670 nm. The fluorochrome-to-probe transformation can induce 1000-fold fluorescence ON/OFF ratio, realizing in vitro GGT detection with an SBR > 900. Activation of OTBP-G occurs within 1 min in vivo, showing an SBR > 400 in mouse ear blood vessels. OTBP-G can further enable the early detection of pulmonary metastasis in breast cancer by topically spraying, outperforming the clinical standard hematoxylin and eosin staining. We anticipate that the in-depth study of OTBP-G can prompt the development of early cancer diagnosis and tumor-related physiological research. Moreover, this work highlights the crucial role of hydrophilicity and donor-acceptor strength in maximizing the ON/OFF ratio of the TICT probes and showcases the potential of OTBP as a versatile platform for activity-based sensing.

BACKGROUND: Gliomas are recognized as the most frequent type of malignancies in the central nervous system, and efficacious prognostic indicators are essential to treat patients with gliomas and improve their clinical outcomes. The chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 2 (CCL2) is a promising predictor for glioma malignancy and progression. However, at present, the methods to evaluate CCL2 expression level are invasive and operator-dependent. OBJECTIVE: It was expected to noninvasively predict CCL2 expression levels in malignant glioma tissues by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based radiomics and assess the association between the developed radiomics model and prognostic indicators and related genes. METHODS: MRI-based radiomics was used to predict CCL2 expression level using data obtained from The Cancer Imaging Archive (TCIA) and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) databases. A support vector machine (SVM)-based radiomics model and a logistic regression (LR)-based radiomics model were used to predict the radiomics score, and its correlation with CCL2 expression level was analyzed. RESULTS: The results revealed that there was an association between CCL2 expression level and the overall survival of cases with gliomas, and bioinformatics correlation analysis showed that CCL2 expression level was highly correlated with disease-related pathways, such as mTOR signaling pathway, cGMP-PKG signaling pathway, and MAPK signaling pathway. Both SVM- and LR-based radiomics data robustly predicted CCL2 expression level, and radiomics scores could also be used to predict the overall survival of patients. Moreover, the high/low radiomics scores were highly correlated with the known glioma-related genes, including CD70, CD27, and PDCD1. CONCLUSION: An MRI-based radiomics model was successfully developed, and its clinical benefits were confirmed, including the prediction of CCL2 expression level and patients' prognosis.

In this study, an enhanced selective recognition strategy was employed to construct a novel solid-phase microextraction fiber coating for the detection of 17ß-estradiol, characterized by the combination of aptamer biorecognition and molecularly imprinted polymer recognition. Benefiting from the combination of molecularly imprinted and aptamer, aptamer-molecularly imprinted (Apt-MIP) fiber coating had synergistic recognition effect. The effects of pH, ion concentration, extraction time, desorption time and desorption solvent on the adsorption capacity of Apt-MIP were investigated. The adsorption of 17ß-estradiol on Apt-MIP followed pseudo-second order kinetic model, and the Freundlich isotherm. The process was exothermic and thermodynamically spontaneous. Compared with polymers that only rely on imprinted recognition, non-imprinted recognition or aptamer affinity, Apt-MIP had the best recognition performance, which was 1.30-2.20 times that of these three materials. Furthermore, the adsorption capacity of Apt-MIP for 17ß-estradiol was 885.36-1487.52 times than that of polyacrylate and polydimethylsiloxane/divinylbenzone commercial fiber coatings. Apt-MIP fiber coating had good stability and could be reused for more than 15 times. Apt-MIP solid-phase microextraction coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography was successfully applied to the determination of 17ß-estradiol in pork, chicken, fish and shrimp samples, with satisfactory recoveries of 79.61 %-105.70 % and low limits of detection (0.03 µg/kg). This work provides new perspectives and strategies for sample pretreatment techniques based on molecular imprinting technology and improves analytical performance.

Precise identification of glioblastoma (GBM) microinfiltration, which is essential for achieving complete resection, remains an enormous challenge in clinical practice. Here, the study demonstrates that Raman spectroscopy effectively identifies GBM microinfiltration with cellular resolution in clinical specimens. The spectral differences between infiltrative lesions and normal brain tissues are attributed to phospholipids, nucleic acids, amino acids, and unsaturated fatty acids. These biochemical metabolites identified by Raman spectroscopy are further confirmed by spatial metabolomics. Based on differential spectra, Raman imaging resolves important morphological information relevant to GBM lesions in a label-free manner. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) for Raman spectroscopy combined with machine learning in detecting infiltrative lesions exceeds 95%. Most importantly, the cancer cell threshold identified by Raman spectroscopy is as low as 3 human GBM cells per 0.01 mm2. Raman spectroscopy enables the detection of previously undetectable diffusely infiltrative cancer cells, which holds potential value in guiding complete tumor resection in GBM patients.

As a typical carbon-based material electrode, graphene fiber exhibits many advantages, such as good electrical conductivity, lightweight, and strong structural designability. Its demand is increasing in the wearable display field. With the help of fine denier fiber spinning combined with multistranded graphene fibers prepared via twisting and drafting, their petal-like twisted structure endows the fibers with a high specific surface area, enabling them to complete dye adsorption within 30 min. Simultaneously, compared with that of a single fiber with the same thickness, the volume specific resistance of a multistranded twisted graphene fiber is reduced by 2.4 times. During force sensing, the twisted structure of multistranded fibers exhibits varying simultaneity of fiber fracture with excellent resistance sensitivity reaching up to 55%. The multistranded twisted flexible graphene fibers demonstrate excellent robustness. Electroluminescent flexible devices prepared with graphene fibers and fiber braided fabrics with different organizational structures as electrodes emit highly saturated short-wave blue light during long-term multiple use. Therefore, multistranded twisted graphene fibers exhibit considerable potential for future applications in wearable multicolor smart displays and flexible optical signal electronics.

This study reports the findings from using time-domain nuclear magnetic resonance (TD-NMR) to analyze the pore structures of cotton fibers. Cotton fibers, which swell and soften in water, present challenges for conventional pore measurement techniques. TD-NMR overcomes these by measuring the transverse relaxation time (T2) of water protons within the fibers, indicative of internal pore sizes. We established a T2-to-pore size conversion equation using mixed cellulose ester membranes. This enabled differentiation between strongly bound, loosely bound, and free water within the fibers, and detailed the water distribution. A method for measuring the pore size distribution of wet cotton fiber was developed using TD-NMR. We then examined how various pretreatments affect the fibers' internal pores by comparing their pore size distribution and porosity. Specifically, caustic mercerization primarily enlarges the porosity and size of larger pores, while liquid ammonia treatment increases porosity but reduces the size of smaller pores. This research confirms TD-NMR's utility in assessing cotton fabrics' wet processing performance.

RESUMEN

The search for novel tumor biomarkers and targets is of significant importance for the early clinical diagnosis and treatment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC). The mechanisms by which ATP citrate lyase (ACLY) promotes HCC progression remain unclear, and the connection between ACLY and REGγ has not been reported in the literature. In vitro, we will perform overexpression/knockdown of ACLY or overexpression/knockdown of REGγ to investigate the impact of ACLY on HCC cells and its underlying mechanisms. In vivo, we will establish mouse tumor models with overexpression/knockdown of ACLY or overexpression/knockdown of REGγ to study the effect of ACLY on mouse tumors and its mechanisms. Firstly, ACLY overexpression upregulated REGγ expression and activated the REGγ-proteasome pathway, leading to changes in the expression of downstream signaling pathway proteins. This promoted HCC cell proliferation, invasion, and migration in vitro, as well as tumor growth and metastasis in vivo. Secondly, ACLY overexpression increased acetyl-CoA production, upregulated the acetylation level of the REGγ promoter region histone H3K27ac, and subsequently induced REGγ expression. Lastly, enhanced acetylation of the REGγ promoter region histone H3K27ac resulted in upregulated REGγ expression, activation of the REGγ-proteasome pathway, changes in downstream signaling pathway protein expression, and promotion of HCC cell proliferation, invasion, and migration in vitro, as well as tumor growth and metastasis in vivo. Conversely, REGγ knockdown reversed these effects. ACLY and REGγ may serve as potential biomarkers and clinical therapeutic targets for HCC.

Introduction: Large Language Models (LLMs) play a crucial role in clinical information processing, showcasing robust generalization across diverse language tasks. However, existing LLMs, despite their significance, lack optimization for clinical applications, presenting challenges in terms of illusions and interpretability. The Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) model addresses these issues by providing sources for answer generation, thereby reducing errors. This study explores the application of RAG technology in clinical gastroenterology to enhance knowledge generation on gastrointestinal diseases. Methods: We fine-tuned the embedding model using a corpus consisting of 25 guidelines on gastrointestinal diseases. The fine-tuned model exhibited an 18% improvement in hit rate compared to its base model, gte-base-zh. Moreover, it outperformed OpenAI's Embedding model by 20%. Employing the RAG framework with the llama-index, we developed a Chinese gastroenterology chatbot named "GastroBot," which significantly improves answer accuracy and contextual relevance, minimizing errors and the risk of disseminating misleading information. Results: When evaluating GastroBot using the RAGAS framework, we observed a context recall rate of 95%. The faithfulness to the source, stands at 93.73%. The relevance of answers exhibits a strong correlation, reaching 92.28%. These findings highlight the effectiveness of GastroBot in providing accurate and contextually relevant information about gastrointestinal diseases. During manual assessment of GastroBot, in comparison with other models, our GastroBot model delivers a substantial amount of valuable knowledge while ensuring the completeness and consistency of the results. Discussion: Research findings suggest that incorporating the RAG method into clinical gastroenterology can enhance the accuracy and reliability of large language models. Serving as a practical implementation of this method, GastroBot has demonstrated significant enhancements in contextual comprehension and response quality. Continued exploration and refinement of the model are poised to drive forward clinical information processing and decision support in the gastroenterology field.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a major cause of dementia and one of the most common chronic diseases affecting the aging population. Because AD is considered a public health priority, there is a critical need to discover novel and effective agents for the treatment of this condition. In view of the known contribution of up-regulated glutaminyl cyclase (QC) and glycogen synthase kinase-3ß (GSK-3ß) to the initiation of AD, we previously evaluated a series of dual inhibitors containing maleimide and imidazole motifs as potential anti-AD agents. Here, we assessed another series of hybrids containing maleimide and imidazole motifs to gain an in-depth understanding of the structure-activity relationship (SAR). Based on the primary screening, the introduction of 5-methyl imidazole at one side of the molecule did not enhance the QC-specific inhibitory activity of these hybrids (2, IC50 = 1.22 µM), although the potency was increased by 2' substitution on the maleimide motif at the other side of the molecule. Interestingly, compounds containing 5-methyl imidazole exhibited stronger GSK-3ß-specific inhibitory activity (2, IC50 = 0.0021 µM), and the electron-withdrawing group and 2' and 3' substitution were favorable. Further investigation of substitutions on the maleimide motif in compounds 14-35 revealed that QC-specific inhibition in the presence of piperidine was improved by introduction of a methoxy group (R2). Increasing the linker length and introduction of a methoxy group (R2) also increased the GSK-3ß-specific inhibitory potency. These findings were further confirmed by molecular docking analysis of 33 and 24 with QC and GSK-3ß. Overall, these hybrids exhibited enhanced inhibitory potency against both QC and GSK-3ß, highlighting an important strategy for improving the potency of hybrids as dual-targeting anti-AD agents.

KEY MESSAGE: Immunofluorescence staining with frozen sections of plant tissues and a nest tube is convenient and effective, and broadens the applicability of immunofluorescence staining. Immunofluorescence staining is an indispensable and extensively employed technique for determining the subcellular localization of chloroplast division proteins. At present, it is difficult to effectively observe the localization of target proteins in leaves that are hard, or very thin, or have epidermal hair or glands with the current immunofluorescence staining methods. Moreover, signals of target proteins were predominantly detected in mesophyll cells, not the cells of other types. Thus, the method of immunofluorescence staining was further explored for improvement in this study. The plant tissue was embedded with 50% PEG4000 at -60℃, which was then cut into sections by a cryomacrotome. The sections were immediately immersed in fixation solution. Then, the sample was transferred into a special nested plastic tube, which facilitated the fixation and immunofluorescence staining procedures. The use of frozen sections in this method enabled a short processing time and reduced material requirements. By optimizing the thickness of the sections, a large proportion of the cells could be well stained. With this method, we observed the localization of a chloroplast division protein FtsZ1 in the wild-type Arabidopsis and various chloroplast division mutants. Meanwhile, the localization of FtsZ1 was also observed not only in mesophyll cells, but also in guard cells and epidermal cells in a lot of other plant species, including many species with hard leaf tissues. This method is not only easy to use, but also expands the scope of applicability for immunofluorescence staining.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) have long been globally distributed, and almost worldwide people are exposed to varying degrees of PAHs. Aqueous medium is an important transmission route of PAHs, but the detection of PAHs in aqueous environment has been a challenge. Herein, a magnetic hypercrosslinked polymer microsphere (Fe3O4@SiO2-PS@HCP) was developed for the effective detection of PAHs. Under the effect of multiple factors (hydrophilicity, intermolecular force and molecular volume), Fe3O4@SiO2-PS@HCP shows excellent performance on the enrichment of five PAHs in aqueous environment. Fe3O4@SiO2-PS@HCP was used to capture PAHs in city river of plateau lake. In-depth data analysis showed that factory activities and traffic emissions are the main pollution sources of PAHs. Ecological, carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic risks are almost within the safe range. The carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic risks of PAHs in children are higher than adults, which needs to be taken seriously. This method breaks the dilemma that it is difficult to enrich weakly hydrophilic pollutants in aqueous media, and complements important pathways for tracing sources of pollutants and assessing associated risks. It brings methodological enlightenment into the development of environmental pollution and human health risk assessment methodology.
