RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To study the expression of caveolin-1 in colorectal adenocarcinoma tissues and its correlation with microlymphatic vessel density (LMVD), and to investigate the clinical pathological prognostic significance of caveolin-1 and LMVD in patients with colorectal cancer. METHODS: The expression of caveolin-1 and LMVD in 45 specimens of normal colorectal tissues, and 90 specimens of colorectal adenocarcinoma tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry technique. The correlation between their expression and the clinicopathologic features was analyzed. Multivariable Cox regression was used to analyze the association between the laboratory indices and overall survival time. RESULTS: The positive rates of caveolin-1 in colorectal adenocarcinoma tissues were significantly higher than those in normal colorectal tissues (P < 0.01). LMVD in colorectal adenocarcinoma tissues were significantly higher than those in normal colorectal tissues (P < 0.01). Mean LMVD in group with caveolin-1 positive was significantly higher than in that with caveolin-1 negative. The median survival time was 26.7 months. Cox regression analysis showed that the caveolin-1 expression, invation depth, lymph node metastasis, TNM stage, liver metastasis and LMVD were independent risk factors of overall survival time of patients with colorectal carcinoma. CONCLUSIONS: Caveolin-1 may contribute to the lymphangiogenesis in the tumor. During the occurrence and development of colorectal adenocarcinoma, there is a close relationship between the expression of caveolin-1 and lymphatic microvessel of tumor. Caveolin-1 expression and microlymphatic vessel density are significant prognostic value of colorectal carcinoma.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To observe the therapeutic effect and influential factors of strong stimulation of acupoints around eyes by reducing method of twisting the needle for treatment of adolescent myopia, and to compare the different curative effects of both weak and strong stimulus intensities and wearing glasses in daytime. METHODS: According to the principle of knowing and permission, the patients were divided into a strong stimulation group (60 cases, 120 eyes), a weak stimulation group (60 cases, 120 eyes) and a wearing glasses group (60 cases, 120 eyes). Both the strong stimulation group and the weak stimulation group were treated by reducing method of twisting the needle, with Cuanzhu (BL 2), Yuyao (EX-HN 4), Sizhukong (TE 23), Sibai (ST 2) and Taiyang (EX-HN 5) selected. Each acupoint was twisted 360 and 90 times per min for the strong stimulation group, and 90 degrees and 60 times per min for the weak stimulation group; the wearing glasses group were not treated with acupuncture, but with wearing glasses in daytime. RESULTS: After treatment with the reducing method of twisting the needle, the vision improved (P < 0.01), with more obviously increased in the strong stimulation group than the weak stimulation group (P < 0.01), and there was no significant change of vision in the wearing glasses group. The age and the myopic degree of the patient before treatment were closely related with the change of vision after treatment (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: The reducing method of twisting the needle has a definite clinical therapeutic effect on adolescent myopia; strong stimulation has a better effect than the weak one; the age and the myopic degree of the patient possibly influence the therapeutic effect.

RESUMEN

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>Supercritical CO2 fluid extraction process of antioxidation active components from Rosmarinus officinalis was studied.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>A new extraction process of components extracted from R. officinalis by supercritical CO2 fluid extraction (SFE-CO2 ) was studied in detail. The capability of that the extract eliminate *OH radical was tested by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) technique and spin catch technique.</p><p><b>RESULT AND CONCLUSION</b>With free radical clearance as index, by range and variance analysis, the optimum extraction process conditions were: keeping pressure at 30 MPa and temperature at 75 degrees C for 1 h, in the same time adding alcohol 0.30 mL x g(-1).</p>

RESUMEN

The effectiveness for the XZEH medicine wastewater treatment biotechnology was conducted. The results show that it needs to increase 28% of the aeration tank volume in order to meet the effluent COD concentration at the first grade wastewater discharge standard level in China. If the engineered strain Xhhh and informatics software (Ebis) were used, the specific degradation rate of Xhhh strain may be higher 128% than that of the natural bacterium XZ strain and the aeration tank needed may be 51% decreased. This should be a potential technical patch for improving the biotechnological effectiveness and making the effluent at the first grade discharge standard.

RESUMEN

This paper presents a two-agent framework to build a natural language query interface for IC information system, focusing more on scope queries in a single English sentence. The first agent, parsing agent, syntactically processes and semantically interprets natural language sentence to construct a fuzzy structured query language (SQL) statement. The second agent, defuzzifying agent, defuzzifies the imprecise part of the fuzzy SQL statement into its equivalent executable precise SQL statement based on fuzzy rules. The first agent can also actively ask the user some necessary questions when it manages to disambiguate the vague retrieval requirements. The adaptive defuzzification approach employed in the defuzzifying agent is discussed in detail. A prototype interface has been implemented to demonstrate the effectiveness.
