RESUMEN

Objective To study the discharges regularity of ambulatory electroencephalogram (ambulatory,EEG,AEEG)during sleep and hyperventilation(HV)-induced EEG. Methods Features of epileptiform discharges of AEEG and HV-induced EEG were evaluated comparatively in 65 cases with frontal lobe epilepsy. Results The epileptiform discharge rate of HV-induced EEG was evidently lower than that of AEEG during the shallow sleep period (non-rapid-eye-movement phase 1 and 2,NREM phase 1 and 2),which had statistical significance(P<0.01);however,the rate of HV-induced EEG had no significant difference from that of AEEG during the awake period and deep sleep period(NREM phase 3 and 4)(P>0.05). Conclusions The epileptiform discharge rate of AEEG during the shallow sleep period is obviously higher than that of HV-induced EEG in patients with frontal lobe epilepsy, and thus sleep EEG is helpful to enhance the diagnostic rate of epileptiform discharges in these patients.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of different habitats on rhubarb quality. METHOD: The rhubarb samples from various parts of Qinghai province were analysed by fingerprint. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The distribution and quality of wild Tangute rhubarb is better than Palmate sorrel rhubarb. The quality of high altitude sampes are better than low altitudes. The quality which from the grassland of plateau is better than chestnut soil area's, and the wild is better than that of planting.

RESUMEN

A novel, accurate and valid fingerprint method was developed by using high-performance liquid chromatography-photodiode array detection (HPLC-DAD) to control the quality of Rheum tanguticum Maxim. ex Balf. By comprehensively comparing chromatograms of all samples, our result revealed that the chromatographic fingerprint we developed combining similarity evaluation could efficiently identify and distinguish raw materials of R. tanguticum from different sources. Besides, 21 characteristic peaks in chromatogram of R. tanguticum were unambiguously confirmed by comparison of reference compounds based on their retention time (t(R)) and UV spectra.

RESUMEN

@#ObjectiveTo probe the clinical features, diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic generalized myokymia.MethodsSeven patients with idiopathic generalized myokymia were analysed retrospectively.ResultsAll 7 patients showed prominent myokymia characterized by undulating and vermicular movements spreading across the muscle surface. The myokymia in gastrocnemius muscles in all cases. The myokymia also appeared in both upper extremities in 5 patients, and in faces, waist, back, abdomen and all extremities in 2 patients. Muscle rippling movement was induced and increased by exercise, and persistent during sleep. The vermicular myokymia could be observed easily in the relaxation of the muscles. Electromyography tests showed myokymic discharges in 5 patients, but normal in 2 patients. 5 patients of them were cured with carbamazepine and phenytoin sodium.ConclusionThere are typical clinical features and effective treatment in the patients with idiopathic generalized myokymia.
