RESUMEN

The aim of this work is to review current trends in the minimally invasive treatment of adenomyosis, in particular uterine artery embolization (UAE). Adenomyosis is an unsolved problem in modern gynecology, its clinical manifestations and associated infertility lead to a decrease in the quality of life of women. Advances in imaging are making it possible to diagnose adenomyosis in young women. Today, conservative methods of treating adenomyosis and maintaining fertility are an urgent problem. Uterine artery embolization is a common treatment for uterine fibroids and is gaining popularity as a treatment for adenomyosis. The data reviewed report minimal side effects of UAE and indicate the effectiveness of this method for the treatment of adenomyosis in the short and long term. Despite the promising results, the issue of using UAE for the treatment of adenomyosis requires more detailed study.

RESUMEN

The development of autoimmune/inflammatory syndrome induced by adjuvants (ASIA) is associated with the hyperergic reaction of the human immune system. The development of autoimmune inflammation is preceded by contact with internal or external trigger factors (adjuvants) of immune disorders. ASIA is associated with an individual genetic predisposition that is probably associated with the carriage of HLA-DRB1*01 or HLA-DRB4. The paper presents five possible options for the impact of adjuvants in the pathogenesis of autoimmune disorders. It gives diagnostic criteria for the syndrome, as well as its clinical, laboratory and morphological manifestations. Emphasis is laid on the importance of morphological changes in the diagnosis of autoimmune disorders. The spectrum of morphological changes in ASIA is extensive. The tissues show signs of immune inflammation, such as lymphohistiocytic infiltration, granulomatous inflammation, and scleroderma-like changes. The characteristic feature is the regression of clinical, laboratory, and morphological manifestations after adjuvant removal.

RESUMEN

Scleromyxedema is a rare mucinosis with a primary skin lesion due to diffuse mucin deposition, sclerosis, and lichenoid eruptions in the absence of hypothyroidism. The paper describes scleromyxedema cases and gives recommendations for the histological diagnosis of the disease by histochemical reactions to detect acid and neutral glycosaminoglycans.

RESUMEN

Scleromyxedema is regarded as a rare cutaneous mucinosis from a group of lichen myxedematosus characterized by diffuse mucin deposition, sclerosis, and lichenoid eruptions in the absence of thyroid disease. The paper discusses the pathogenesis of the disease and histological changes in tissues. It underlines the need for using histochemical tests to identify acidic and neutral glycosaminoglycans and gives a differential diagnosis of this disease.

RESUMEN

Genetic and epigenetic changes were investigated in chronically irradiated Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) populations from territories that were heavily contaminated by radionuclides as result of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident. In comparison to the reference site, the genetic diversity revealed by electrophoretic mobility of AFLPs was found to be significantly higher at the radioactively contaminated areas. In addition, the genome of pine trees was significantly hypermethylated at 4 of the 7 affected sites.

RESUMEN

Influence of γ-irradiation of barley seeds (Nur variety) at the doses of 8-50 Gy on catalase, pyruvate kinase, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, and guaiacol peroxidase activities was studied in the seedlings on the 3, 5 and 7 days after germination. It has been shown that activities of the studied enzymes increase in the dose range that causes the growth stimulation in the seedlings (16-20 Gy).

RESUMEN

Polymorphism of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase enzyme was studied in the Scots pine populations growing in the sites of Bryansk region which were radioactively contaminated as a result of the Chernobyl accident. It was revealed that the frequency of mutations in isozyme loci increased along with the level of a dose rate (7-130 mGy/year) in the sites under the study. Significant changes in the activity of this enzyme did not depend on the level of radiation exposure.

RESUMEN

The activities of superoxide dismutase, catalase and peroxidase in Scots pine populations growing in the contaminated areas of Bryansk region were investigated. The dose rate at the experimental sites ranged from 7 to 130 mGy/year. It has been identified that the activities ofantioxidant enzymes do not depend on the radiation factor under these dose rates. These doses were found to be insufficient for forming significant physiological effects.

RESUMEN

Polymorphism ofsuperoxidedismutase in Scots pine populations from the Bryansk region radioactively contaminated as a result of the Chernobyl accident was studied. The frequency of mutations in the isozyme loci, the effective number of alleles, intrapopulation diversity, as well as the frequency of rare morphs were significantly increased along with the level of radioactive contamination. Changes in the genetic makeup of the populations under study were due to the increased frequency of rare alleles.

RESUMEN

The interactions of the pheromones of some representatives of the Lepidoptera order with each other and with materials contained in the forest air, as well as the effect of electromagnetic radiation on pheromone have been studied. It was found that the reactions of pheromones with substances contained in the forest air are irreversible and proceed with the liberation of heat. Electromagnetic radiation affects very strongly the structure of pheromones. In this case, a pheromone molecule is activated and can readily enter into reaction.

RESUMEN

The paper provides the results of the examination of 112 convalescents of different age using the method of determining the class of ability to work according to the response to the active orthostatic test. A comparative analysis was conducted of different methods of occupational rehabilitation under conditions of workshop medical unit of a large industrial enterprise. It was found that the most effective method is the transfer of convalescents to a more easy work for physiologically substantiated periods of time. Validated criteria of assessing the efficacy of rehabilitation measures are proposed.

RESUMEN

The article deals with current approaches towards the assessment of working capacity in older age groups, describes principal age-related regularities in psychomotor, physical and mental working capacity changes. Novel, highly informative techniques for working capacity evaluation are proposed, along with a ten-grade assessment technique intended for wide use in general practice. It is shown that the bulk of industrial workers' working capacity can be related to grades 5-8, which is demonstrative of decreased working capacity, both physical and mental, in workers in general.

RESUMEN

The course of responses to the orthostatic test is analyzed in convalescents with a history of different diseases. Diagnostic factors were singled out characteristic of different groups of diseases including values of the cardiovascular, neuromuscular systems of the body. On the basis of obtained data a decimal classification of the working capacity of convalescents was worked out by their reaction to orthostatic effects.
