RESUMEN

Studies of the chronic combined effects of carbon monoxide low concentrations and psychoemotional stress revealed changes in the peripheral lymphocyte subpopulation in all groups of examinees, connected with the defense activation of the humoral immunity and functional decrease of T lymphocytes. Analysis of correlations of cell subpopulations revealed disorders of their relationships, augmenting with the intensity of exposure. Combined action of carbon monoxide in the maximal of studies concentrations with stress resulted in the most severe changes of nonspecific immunity, which proves decompensated decrease of immunity.

RESUMEN

Patients with uncomplicated silicosis were found to develop chronic immunodependent inflammation caused by an adjuvant effect of silica and characterized by autoimmune, histamine- and complement-dependent components. Reduced specific and non-specific antimicrobial defence underlies frequent complication of silicosis by tuberculosis and nonspecific infectious diseases of the bronchopulmonary system. A diagram showing the development of immunodependent inflammation in silicosis is presented.

RESUMEN

The examination of insecticidal properties of the new pyrethroid--sumithrin--showed this compound in contact action to be a highly effective insecticide, superior in activity to neopinamine. The intestinal action of sumithrin is less pronounced in comparison with neopinamine. Sumithrin is more selective in its effect on insects as compared with neopinamine. In the form of earosols, sumithrin and its mixtures with DDVP are less active than compositions based on neopinamine.

RESUMEN

The study of insecticidal properties of sumitrin demonstrated that in contact action it was a highly effective insecticide; in topical application LD50 for domestic flies, bedbugs and cockroaches was 0.47, 1.25 and 3.26 mug/g, respectively. Sumitrin possessed high action selectivity for insects and low toxicity for warm-blooded animals (LD50 for albino mice greater than 7500 mg/kg). In the form of aerosols sumitrin and its mixtures with DDVF were less active than compositions on the neopinamine base.

RESUMEN

With application to the skin of an albino female-rat over the whole period of its pregnancy of the repellent diethyltolueneamide (DETA) in doses of 100 and 1000 mg/kg the overall embryonal fatality was found to go up, the size and weight of the rattlings to be down; there was recorded a lagging development of the newborns and a high postnatal death rate. The preparation could easily overcome the placental barrier, it was demonstrable in the placenta, fetuses, as well as in the bodies of newborn rattlings, even 3 months after their birth.
