RESUMEN

The investigation of influent of antiatherosclerotic diets with chitosan on clinical and metabolic parameters in patients with cardiovascular diseases. Results of the study show that enrichment of a diet with chitosan in patients with ishemic heart disease and hypertension improved clinic, immune status, antropometric levels and lipid spectrum of blood. The research has shown, that the use in the treat-preventive purposes chitosan is rather perspective.

RESUMEN

A state of the anti-oxidation system in blood and the rate of lipid peroxidation were studied in patients with hypertension. High sensitivity of the anti-oxidation system enzymes to alterations in the diet fat composition was detected in the patients, nutrition of whom was evaluated in detail. Excessive doses of alpha-tocopherol, added to the diet enriched with omega 3-polyunsaturated fatty acids normalized lipid peroxidation and stabilized the enzyme activity involved in the anti-oxidation system. The integral parameter, proposed for evaluation of the anti-oxidation protection state and designated as "anti-oxidation index" involved estimation of catalase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione reductase and peroxidase activities as well as of content of malonic dialdehyde and diene conjugates in erythrocytes.

RESUMEN

Prior to diet therapy, CHD patients exhibited marked impairment of the system of platelet and mononuclear lysosomal lipolytic enzymes compared to those in healthy controls. A reduced ratio of polyunsaturated fatty acids omega-6/omega-3 in low-sodium hypolipidemic diet (from 10.3 to 6.3-1.3) incorporating halibut flesh and ichthyoic oil promoted its antiatherogenic efficacy. The activity of platelet and mononuclear lysosomal lipolytic enzymes and lipid spectrum in coronary patients returned to normal values.

RESUMEN

In response to antiatherosclerosis dietotherapy containing 20 g of ichthyenic oil, coronary and hypertensive subjects showed lowered serum levels of cholesterol, triglycerides and atherogenic index, elevated HDLP cholesterol and corrected immunochemical shifts. SPI-containing diet resulted in changes of CIC IgM levels only. Shifts in the activity of mononuclear and platelet lysosomal hydrolases which occurred in the above patients due to relevant diets reflect higher sensitivity of this parameter in assessment of the dietotherapy effectiveness.

RESUMEN

Activity of cathepsins D, B, C, H, L, acid lipase, acid cholesterol ester hydrolase, phospholipase A1, A2 and glucuronidase were studied in liver, small intestinal mucosa, intimal aortic cells, blood platelets and monocyte of rabbit after oral administration of cholesterol at daily dose of 300 mg/kg body weight within 100 days. Under this conditions distinct changes functional state of lysosomal systems were found in liver, monocyte and intima aortic cells. A possible mechanism of observed enzymological changes is discussed.

RESUMEN

Alteration in pH and addition of urea (final concentration 3 M) did not affect the electrophoretic and chromatographic separation of glycomacropeptide. At the same time, urea (5 M) distinctly increased an amount of beta-component in separation by free electrophoresis. Sedimentation constant SO2OW and molecular weight of glycomacropeptide were equal to 1.35 S and 13000, respectively. Both fractions of glycomacropeptide had similar amino acid composition and contained phosphorus (0.4%). The variations were observed in the carbohydrate components of the molecules. The heavy component contained 5-fold higher concentration of sialic acids (9.7-9.6%), 2-fold higher concentration of galactose (13%) and acetyl galactosamine (5.0-4.0%) as compared with the beta-component (3.1-0.9%, 7.5% and 2.5%, respectively). These alterations in carbohydrate component of glycomacropeptide were suggested to affect the polymeric conformation of the molecule.
