RESUMEN

The effect of monomeric (glycosylated and unglycosylated) and dimeric form of porcine prolactin on change of the blood levels of triglycerides (TG) and cholesterol in lipoproteins (LP) of different density and the activity of the main enzymes of plasmatic and liver lipid metabolism were studied under the conditions of experimental hyperprolactinemia in rabbits. It was shown to be accompanied by dyslipoproteinemia, characterized by a stable rise of TG in LP of very low, high and low density as well as by a rise of cholesterol concentration in VLDL and its decrease in HDL. Such changes in LP showed correlation with lowered activity of lipoprotein lipase, triglyceride lipase of the liver and plasmatic postheparin lipolytic activity. Analysis of prolactin-induced dyslipoproteinemia has shown that changes in plasma lipoproteins are of atherogenic nature.

RESUMEN

A total of 121 inpatients with insulin and noninsulin dependent diabetes mellitus were investigated. The patients with noninsulin dependent diabetes mellitus were divided into 2 groups with relation to the presence or absence of secondary resistance to sulfonyl urea derivatives. Changes in the plasma and lipoprotein concentration of cholesterol (ChS) and triglycerides (TG) were analyzed. According to the author's classification, changes in lipoprotein patterns were distributed in some phenotypes of dyslipoproteinemias (DLP) and their prevalence was studied among the examinees. DLPs were detected in 84.3% of the patients (59.8% were latent). The patients demonstrated a high frequency of hypocholesterolemia of very low density lipoproteins (57.8%) and hypertriglyceridemia of low density lipoproteins (31.4%). These intralipoprotein variations were shown to be the chief element of phenotypical characterization of II (c, d), IV (b, c) and VI (a, b, c) DLP types, not included in Fredrickson's classification.

RESUMEN

The effect of one-month bezalip (600 mg daily) outpatient department treatment was studied on serum lipids and lipoproteins of 34 patients (31 males and 3 females), aged from 30 to 60 with various types primary HLP (IIA, IIB, IV and V). After the treatment, it was established that tendency to malization of the increased concentrations of triglycerides (Tg) and cholesterol (Chol) was changed. The drug has a stronger effect on triglyceride component of serum VIDLP and LDLP as compared with the corresponding cholesterol one, due to which its treatment is with better effect in IIB, IV and V type HLP. The decrease of cholesterol concentration in the separate types HLP differs in size and mode of induction. It is stronger in the mixed types HLP (II phi and V) and is due to decreased cholesterol content of LDLP and VLDLP, whereas in IIb type HLP - the serum concentrations of total Chol was decreased as well as of LDLP-Chol with a parallel increase of the levels of LVDLP-Chol and VLDLP-Tg. In IIA and V type HLP, serum concentration of HDLP-Chol is increased but insignificantly. Bezalip treatment changes the interlipoprotein index Ka (total Chol-HDLP-Chol/HDLP-Chol) in a favourable direction as regards the atherogenic risk, in all types HLP studied.

RESUMEN

The authors examined in 125 young sexually mature and in 50 young sexually immature male rabbits of a New Zealand improved Bulgarian breed the following serum lipid indices: total lipids, total and free cholesterol triglycerides, phospholipids, cholesterol and triglyceride content of VLDL (very low density lipoproteins), LDL (high density lipoproteins), HDL (high density lipoproteins) and the percentage concentration of serum lipopropteins, examined electrophoretically. The concentrations of the examined lipid and lipoprotein fractions in the sera of both age groups of rabbits showed asymetrical distribution. The hystograms of the total lipids and total cholesterol in younger animals was excluded. The logarithnictrandsformation of asymetricaly distributed concentrations of the examined fractions normalized their distribution in a part of them. The authors determined the ranges of the norm with the help of the percentile analysis in the remaining indices with asymetric distribution. Serum lipid and lipoprotein profile revealed substantial differnces in both age groups of animals. Serum lipids and lipoproteins in young sexually mature male rabbits differed from those of a man not only by their absolute concentrations, but also by their structural characteristics.
