RESUMEN

Climate Change and Materials Criticality challenges are driving urgent responses from global governments. These global responses drive policy to achieve sustainable, resilient, clean solutions with Advanced Materials (AdMats) for industrial supply chains and economic prosperity. The research landscape comprising industry, academe, and government identified a critical path to accelerate the Green Transition far beyond slow conventional research through Digital Technologies that harness Artificial Intelligence, Smart Automation and High Performance Computing through Materials Acceleration Platforms, MAPs. In this perspective, following the short paper, a broad overview about the challenges addressed, existing projects and building blocks of MAPs will be provided while concluding with a review of the remaining gaps and measures to overcome them.

RESUMEN

In this work we present the concept of electroplated conductive elastomers and ablative multi-layer and multi-material laser-assisted manufacturing to enable a largely automated, computer-aided manufacturing process of stretchable electronics and sensors. Therefore, the layers (conductive and non-conductive elastomers as well as metal layers for contacting) are first coated over the entire surface (doctor blade coating and electroplating) and then selectively removed with a CO2 or a fiber laser. These steps are repeated several times to achieve a multi-layer-structured design. Is it not only possible to adjust and improve the work previously carried out manually, but also completely new concepts such as fine through-plating between the layers to enable much more compact structures become possible. In addition, metallized areas allow the direct soldering of electronic components and thus a direct connection between conventional and stretchable electronics. As an exemplary application, we have used the process for manufacturing a thin and surface solderable pressure sensor with a silicone foam dielectric and a stretchable circuit board.

RESUMEN

Several transition metal ions, like Fe2+ , Co2+ , Ni2+ , and Zn2+ complex to the ditopic ligand 1,4-bis(2,2':6',2''-terpyridin-4'-yl)benzene (L). Due to the high association constant, metal-ion induced self-assembly of Fe2+ , Co2+ , and Ni2+ leads to extended, rigid-rod like metallo-supramolecular coordination polyelectrolytes (MEPEs) even in aqueous solution. Here, we present the kinetics of growth of MEPEs. The species in solutions are analyzed by light scattering, viscometry and cryogenic transmission electron microscopy (cryo-TEM). At near-stoichiometric amounts of the reactants, we obtained high molar masses, which follow the order Ni-MEPE≈Co-MEPE
