RESUMEN

Objective To assess the effects of treating varicose vein with endovenous laser treatment(EVLT). Methods 810nm wavelength diode laser machine was used to treat 170 patients with varicose veins of the legs. After treatment, leg bandage compression was used for 2 days, and then changed to elastic stockings for 6-8 weeks. Patients were examined with Doppler ultrasound at follow-up. Results Post-operative follow up(1-12 months) of EVLT in 170 patients indicated 100% rate of greater saphenous vein closure on Doppler ultrasound, and no significant complications. All of the symptoms, disappeared or were significantly improved. Conclusions The results of EVLT of varicose veins have been favorable. This minimally invasive technique appears to be safe, and results in very effective closure of great saphenous vein.

RESUMEN

Objective To determine the maximum venous outflow of the lower extremity deep veins in case of deep venous thrombosis (DVT). Method We use IMEX9000 multi-function vascular diagnosis instrument to examine 166 lower extremities of 100 controls the maximum venous outflow. The measurement was carried on in 46 diagnosed DVT cases for healthy and diseased limbs. Ascending venography was also performed. Three indicators were adopted including venous capacitance (VC) ,2 second venous outflow(VO) and maximum venous outflow ratio(MVOR, namely VO/VC).Result Normal MVOR is 1. 08?0. 18, irrespective of age and gender. MVOR drops significantly in diseased limb (0. 69? 0. 14),paralleling with the result of ascending venography. Conclusion MVOR has the explicit diagnosis value for lower extremity deep venous thrombosis. A MVOR

RESUMEN

From 1985 to 1987, thirty cases of lower limb deep venous insufficiency were examined with strain-gauge plethysmography. Doppler ultrasound examination were performed simutaneously in 28 cases and phlebography in 27 cases. Thirty normal lower limb served as controls. The methods for the detection of maximum venous outflow, maximum venous back flow and venous refilling time were introduced. The principles of these techniques were discussed

RESUMEN

Three hundred cases of internal hemorrhoids hare been excised by hemorrhoide- ctomy with co laser in our hospital since July,1988The operation was performed under local anesthesia. After ligation of the hemo-rrhoid artery excision of internal hemorrhoid was carried out by co laser the stump of hemorrhoid was carbonized to promote vessel coagulation.postoperative pain was slight.Only 22 cases required narcotic analgesics. Bleeding was minimum except 2 cases with hypertension.Urinary retention developed in 2 cases.Thrombosis of external hemorrhoids developed in 3 cases.Wounds healed within 7 to 10 days.Fifty cases have been followed up for more than one year with no recurrence
