RESUMEN

Results are submitted of a 6-month follow-up of 30 patients with prior myocardial infarction residing in the neighbourhood of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, involving investigations designed to study hemodynamics together with immunologic reactivity. A comparison group was formed of 25 Kievites. Both groups demonstrated alterations of immunologic respectively. A conclusion has been reached that there exists association between the above findings and development of myocardial infarction but no relationship was found with exposure to radiation.

RESUMEN

Improvement of methods for diagnosis and treatment of myocardial infarction and its complications permitted the mortality and disability resulting from this condition to be considerably reduced. The aim of the study was to analyse in retrospect clinical and functional disorders in subjects with a history of ventricular fibrillation in the acute phase. Over 3 years, 1096 patients with acute myocardial infarction had been admitted to the Department of Cardioresuscitation. Ventricular Fibrillation was cause of death in 2.1% of cases. Over this time period, resuscitation was a success in 2.9%. The following item was found out to be a factor of unfavourable prognosis during the first two years after development of acute myocardial infarction: it was postinfarction dilatation of the left ventricle having a part in the evolution of cardiac insufficiency and contributing to formation of arrhythmogenic substrate and, to a lesser degree, to ventricular fibrillation in the acute phase.

RESUMEN

There have been conducted immunological investigations and those of designed to study homeostasis secured by thrombocytes in 68 patients with ischemic heart disease, who had survived one or more myocardial infarction in the recovery stages, during which time restoration of their functional capacity and ability to work were becoming clinically apparent. These groups of patients demonstrate appreciable deviations in the immunologic status of the organism, consistent chiefly with the humoral type of events owing to both allergic and anaphylactic reactions. The above alterations occur against the background of T-cellular immunodeficiency, raised levels of B-lymphocytes and a change in the functional state of thrombocytes. During the first six months period of the year the aggregational and adhesive properties begin gradually return to normal.

RESUMEN

The authors carried out immunological examination of 68 patients with ischemic heart disease with a history of one or several myocardial infarctions. The patients showed changes of the immune status, mainly of the humoral type due to allergic reactions caused by immune complexes and also anaphylactic reactions provoked by IgE-antibodies. The above changes occurred against the background of T-cellular immunodeficiency and increased content of B-lymphocytes. Increase of the level of indices of unspecific defence is a manifestation of compensatory reactions directed to elimination of the increased content of circulating immune complexes from the body of the patients.

RESUMEN

Paired bicycle ergometry [correction of veloergometric] testing was carried out in 94 patients with a history of myocardial infarction before and after single intakes of 40 mg of obsidan and 200 mg of labetalol. The effect of these agents on the increase of tolerance to physical load was evaluated. It was found that obsidan and labetalol increased the tolerance of these patients to physical loads. The positive effect was realized due to negative chronotropic effect of obsidan and reduction of the systemic arterial pressure under the effect of labetalol.
