RESUMEN
Based on register data, epidemiologic indicators of cerebral stroke for the population of Khanty-Mansiysk autonomic okrug and values of early mortality and mean ages of patients have been obtained. The structure of acute disturbances of brain blood circulation has been studied. It has been shown that morbidity and mortality from cerebral stroke in the population of autonomic okrug is significantly lower compared to the same indicators in the Russian Federation in whole. Morbidity among men is higher than among women. An analysis of stroke risk factors revealed that the prevalence of some factors is significantly higher in the population of the okrug compared to other the Russian regions.

The author developed out forms of surgical treatment with up-to-date modern technologies in the conditions of the North. Fifty-four surgeries were performed including 45 ones for calculous cholecystitis. Financial benefit was 369,000 rubles.

The authors made an analysis of the application of a plasma jet with the help of an apparatus of original construction used for treatment of wounds of the liver in 36 patients. This apparatus has a number of advantages as compared with others. The plasma jet gives a reliable homostasis and minimum heat injuries to the liver tissues.

The article describes an express-method of determining intraabdominal bleeding with the help of a benzidine test based on the ability of the hemine group of hemoglobin to catalyze the reaction of benzidine oxidation with hydrogen peroxide.
