RESUMEN
A 76-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital due to diabetes and was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer for which she received gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel. Fourteen days later, eruptions were observed in the first division of the right trigeminal nerve;she was then diagnosed with herpes zoster and was successfully treated with antiviral therapy. Seven days after the herpes zoster infection, right ophthalmoplegia appeared. Oculomotor nerve palsy secondary to herpes zoster ophthalmicus was suspected and she was treated with steroid pulse therapy. Her symptoms improved, and chemotherapy was able to be continued. Her ophthalmoplegia had almost fully resolved 41 days after the onset of herpes zoster infection.

KEY CLINICAL MESSAGE: Placenta percreta (with bladder invasion) is a rare obstetric condition with the risk of massive intraoperative hemorrhage. In these cases, the combination of a transverse uterine fundal incision and retrograde cesarean hysterectomy could be useful to minimize maternal hemorrhage and avoid severe bladder injury.

Oxopropyl E-(pyrrolidine-2-ylidene)glycinamide (5c) and allyl E-(pyrrolidine-2-ylidene)glycinate (5d) were effectively synthesized from 2,3,5-tri-O-benzyl-4-O-tert-butyldimethylsilyl(TBDMS)-D-arabinal (7) using intramolecular 1,3-dipolar cyclic reaction of azide and olefin as a key reaction. These results proved this cyclic reaction should be applicable for the synthesis of various (pyrrolidine-2-ylidene)glycinate and glycinamide. In addition, the development of a synthetic route for the precursor of an unsaturated cyclic dehydro amino acid involved in azinomycins (carzinophilin) using relating glycinate, methyl E-(pyrrolidine-2-ylidene)glycinate (5a) was described.
