RESUMEN

AIMS AND OBJECTIVE: Ionic liquids are a suitable medium for stabilization and preparation of catalytic systems. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The two-dimensional (2D) ZnO/Fe3O4 nanocomposites were synthesized using ionic liquid [OMIM]Br as a stabilizer and soft template. The nanocomposites were characterized via FTIR, XRD, VSM and SEM analysis. RESULT: The catalytic activity of these composites was evaluated using a multicomponent reaction of primary amines, acetylacetone, and 2-bromoacetophenone. CONCLUSION: 2D ZnO/Fe3O4 as a recyclable and green catalyst showed excellent catalytic performance for the preparation of poly-substituted pyrroles.

Cubic, truncated cubic and spherical nano and micro particles of Cu2O, can be selectively deposited onto nano fibrilated cellulose gels by the modulated alkaline reduction of Cu2+ ions aided by the cellulose's reducing end groups. The role of the cellulose's reducing end groups and that of externally added carbohydrate reducing agents, towards inducing various Cu2O morphologies, is discussed with respect to the detailed nucleation effects leading to micro and nano Cu2O particle deposition on NFC. When the reducing end groups are provided only by the cellulose's chain ends, supersaturation effects seem to be affecting the Cu2O nucleation mechanism. However, the Cu2O nucleation considerations were altered when mobile reducing end groups were provided by adding dextrose in the system, promoting additional particle nucleation sites. Furthermore, the effort offered the possibility to quantitatively determine the number of accessible reducing end groups (-CHO) present in NFC, expressed in mmol/g. The optical properties of the created NFC/Cu2O films were examined by UV-vis absorption measurements, revealing band gaps ranging between 2.02-2.25 eV. The accumulated understanding expands the utility window and opens new directions for the novel utilization of nano-fibrillated cellulose, and more specifically toward semiconductor applications.

RESUMEN

Polyacrylamide has been grafted onto nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC-g-PAM) under mild conditions. This was accomplished by developing and optimizing an ultrasound assisted protocol in the presence of potassium persulfate initiator. The synthesis was optimized on the basis of maximizing grafting percentage and grafting efficiency by varying the initiator and monomer concentration. The data shows that ultrasound has a profound effect in promoting the grafting of PAM onto NFC. The intended grafting was confirmed and the properties of the new co-polymers were examined by elemental analyses, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Intrinsic viscosity determinations in 0.1M cupriethylenediamine solutions for the NFC-g-PAM copolymers and the starting NFC and PAM homopolymer revealed that grafting of PAM onto nanofibrillated cellulose has a profound effect on the hydrodynamic characteristics of the graft polymers.

RESUMEN

A simple, efficient, and environmentally benign procedure for the synthesis of 2-amino-4H-chromene ring has been achieved by the three-component reaction of an aromatic aldehyde, malononitrile and diverse enolizable C-H activated compound under ultrasound irradiation using sodium carbonate as a catalyst in aqueous media. Sodium carbonate as a natural salt, being available as an inexpensive catalyst combined with ultrasound method promoted this protocol in comparison to other methods and catalysts.

RESUMEN

Copper oxide nanostructures have been synthesized by a simple reflux method in aqueous medium of pyridinium based ionic liquids. The structural and optical properties of CuO nanostructures were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL) and UV-visible. The morphologies of the nanostructures can be controlled by changing the amount of NaOH and ionic liquids. The results show that the use identical pyridinium based ionic liquids in ratio of 4:1 NaOH/Cu(OAc)2⋅H2O yield minor differences in morphology of CuO nanostructures. Different morphologies of CuO nanostructures were obtained by changing the ratio NaOH/Cu(OAc)2⋅H2O to 2:1. Ionic liquids play an important role on optical properties of CuO nanostructures. The results of optical measurements of the CuO nanostructures illustrate that band gaps are estimated to be 1.67-1.85 eV. PL patterns studies show that the ionic liquids can be effect on PL patterns of the samples. The reasons of these phenomena are discussed.

RESUMEN

N-alkyl 2-[(2-oxo-2-aryl ethyl)amino] benzamide derivatives have been synthesized in high yields. This involves three-component reaction of isatoic anhydride, primary amines in the presence of 2-bromoacethophenone derivatives. The reaction workup is simple and the products can be easily separated from the reaction mixture.

RESUMEN

An efficient synthesis of dialkyl pyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinoline-2,3-dicarboxylates, pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinoline-1,2- dicarboxylates and indolizines is described via one-pot reactions of isoquinoline, quinoline or pyridine and phenacyl bromids with dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates or diaryloylacetylene under solvent-free conditions at 50°C. The mild reaction conditions and high yields of the products exhibit the good synthetic advantage of these methods.

RESUMEN

The reaction between alkyl isocyanides and isopropylidene Meldrum's acid in the presence of 1,2-ethanediol leads to N (1)-(alkyl)-2-(5,7-dioxo-1,4-dioxepane-6-yl)-2-methylpropanamides. 1,3-Propanediol or 1,4-butanediol produce hydroxyalkyl 1-(tert-butyl)-4,4-dimethyl-2,5-dioxo-3-pyrrolidinecarboxylates. When the reaction was performed in the presence of catechol, bis(2-hydroxyphenyl) 2-[2-(tert-butylamino)-1,1-dimethyl-2-oxoethyl]malonate was obtained. 2-Aminophenols react with alkyl isocyanides in the presence of isopropylidene Meldrum's acid to produce 1-alkyl-N (3)-(2-hydroxyaryl)-4,4-dimethyl-2,5-dioxo-3-pyrrolidinecarboxamides in good yields.

RESUMEN

The reaction between alkyl(aryl) isocyanides and dibenzoylacetylene in the presence of ethyl bromopyruvate leads to ethyl 3,4-dibenzoyl-2-bromomethyl-5-alkyl(aryl)imino-2,5-dihydro-furan-2-carboxylates in high yields. Dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates react with tert-butyl isocyanide and ethyl bromopyruvate to produce 3,4-dialkyl 2-ethyl 2-bromomethyl-5-tert-butylimino-2,5-dihydro-furan-2,3,4-tricarboxylates.
