RESUMEN
Intestinal obstruction, a rare manifestation of immunotherapy-related gastrointestinal adverse events, can be severe and even life-threatening with intestinal perforation. We present a 64-year-old man with HCC and currently under the therapy with Pembrolizumab, who was admitted in our hospital with abdominal distension. Radiologic findings were consistent with small bowel ileus. After conservative treatment, the patient underwent colonoscopy where no cause of ileus was discovered. The patient received high-dose prednisone due to the side effects of immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. This resulted in a gradual improvement of symptoms.
RESUMEN
Background: Malignant glomus tumors (MGTs) are rare malignancies, which grow rapidly and are aggressive. Surgical resection has been regarded as the standard management, but treatment options for those unresectable tumors are limited, resulting in a high recurrence rate and poor prognosis. Case Description: An 85-year-old man presented with gross hematuria and was diagnosed with MGTs of bladder. The patient achieved long-term local control after multimodal therapy comprising radiotherapy, iodine-125 seeds brachytherapy, transcatheter arterial chemoembolization, and antiangiogenic targeted therapy. Conclusion: MGTs occurring in the bladder are clinically rare and refractory. The case presented here highlights the importance of multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment, providing evidence that radiotherapy and antiangiogenic therapy may play an important role in unresectable bladder MGT.

The interactions between alkynylplatinum(II) terpyridine complexes 1-3 and the G-quadruplex DNA, including c-myc and telomeric quadruplex DNA, are investigated both in dilute solution and under molecular crowding conditions. The UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, circular dichroism and molecular docking studies suggest that 1-3 associate with telomeric and c-myc G-quadruplexes via groove binding, and electrostatic interactions. Experimental studies indicate that under molecular crowding conditions (in the presence of 40wt% PEG 200), 1-2 show weak affinity for c-myc, while 3 still displays high affinity and selectivity for c-myc. On the other hand, 1-3 act as efficient and selective ligand for telomeric quadruplex DNA under molecular crowding conditions. The complex 3 exhibits excellent cytotoxicity against A549, K562 and SGC-7901, with IC50 values that are 35.0-fold, 10.0-fold, and 12.1-fold lower than the values of cisplatin under the same conditions, respectively.

The cracking behavior accompanied with the drying of colloidal droplets containing polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) nanoparticles was studied. During evaporation, due to the stretching effect of the liquid zone, the receding wet front leads to the formation of radialized surface wrinkling in the gel zone. This indicates the building of a macroscopic stress field with a similar distribution. As a result, the cracks in the deposited films are in a radial arrangement. The propagation velocity of the cracks depends on the thickness of the film, â¼ H (3/5). In addition, sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) additives can be used to tune crack behavior by causing a reduction of the capillary force between particles. The results highlight the significance of the receding wet front in building the drying deposition stress field and may be helpful in other fields related to drying and cracking processes.
