RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To create the hierarchical model for the comparison of efficacy of different ATs for schizophrenia. METHODS: PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, The Cochrane Library, ClinicalTrials, China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database, China Science and Technology Journal Database, Wanfang Database, and SinoMed were searched using a specified search strategy to identify relevant studies up to December 2021. The data were extracted independently by two reviewers. The quality of included trials was evaluated based on the guidelines of "Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions". Bayesian network meta-analysis was conducted by statistical analysis software Addis 1.16.6 and Stata 15.1. RESULTS: In total, 60 randomized controlled trials covering 4810 patients were enrolled. The network meta-analysis result showed that Body Acupuncture (BA), BA + Electro-acupuncture (EA), Scalp Acupuncture (SA) + EA, Auricular Acupuncture (AA), Low-dose medication and Acupuncture (LA), Acupoint Injection (AI), and Acupoint Catgut Embedding (ACE), when combined with Western Medications (WM), demonstrated a better clinical effect at improving the symptoms of schizophrenia, compared to WM alone. Results of rank probability showed that BA, when combined with WM, was the most optimal AT for schizophrenia at decreasing three aspects of PANSS scale score. CONCLUSIONS: Acupuncture-related therapies help improve the symptoms of schizophrenia, and BA combined with WM may be a better therapy for schizophrenia. RESUMEN

In the detection process of atmospheric laser absorption spectroscopy in open space, the transmitted beam is inevitably affected by atmospheric turbulence, resulting in superimposed fluctuation noise in the received optical signal. First, the correction method of atmospheric turbulence is theoretically analyzed. In order to reduce the error influence factors and the error transfer coefficient, a new method of spectral data processing based on co-frequency and dual-wave has been proposed. By modifying scintillation noise and background noise, the influence of atmospheric turbulence noise in open space is reduced. An atmospheric detection system in open space based on co-frequency and dual-wave has been established. The experimental results show that the maximum fluctuation of the spectral signal processed by the method of spectrum data processing based on the co-frequency and dual-wave is reduced from 12.854% to 4.635%, and the single-intensity absorbance is fitted by Voigt with its correlation coefficient of 0.9525. The mean of the standard deviation of the algorithm is 0.1370, while the mean value of the standard deviation of the existing algorithm in a short time is 0.6928. And, through the comparative experiment, the standard deviation of the existing data processing techniques of two-wavelength differential absorption is 0.2974, while the standard deviation of the method of spectrum data processing based on the co-frequency and dual-wave is 0.1038. It can be concluded that the co-frequency and dual-wave method can effectively reduce the influence of atmospheric turbulence noise and laser flashing to improve the stability of concentration measurement, which has practical engineering value.

Situs inversus totalis is an unusual disease with a low incidence. The co-existence of situs inversus totalis with a teratoma is extremely rare. To the best of our knowledge, there is no data on the association between situs inversus totalis and teratoma in the literature. The present study therefore describes the first such case in a 23-year-old female. The patient presented with intermittent chest tightness, which had lasted for ~3 years. Following radiological examination, the patient was diagnosed with situs inversus totalis and a mature teratoma in the posterior mediastinum. Surgical resection was performed to remove the teratoma and the patient subsequently made a full recovery. Follow-up X-ray and computed tomography examinations were performed 6 months after surgery, which revealed no disease recurrence.

Lysosome-dependent macroautophagy, also termed autophagy, and the ubiquitin-proteasome system and are the primary intracellular pathways involved in protein degradation. Previous studies have demonstrated that proteasome inhibitors are able to inhibit tumor growth and activate autophagy. The present study investigated the effect of the proteasome inhibitor MG-132 on cellular proliferation using a cell counting kit 8 assay, and the effect of the agent on apoptosis and autophagy was assessed using flow cytometry and monodansylcadaverine, respectively. Western blot analysis was used to investigate protein changes during the course of treatment. It was revealed that MG-132 inhibited cell proliferation, activated autophagy and induced cell death in EC9706 cells. Autophagy was activated through the class III PI3K pathway, and the expression of the Beclin-1 protein was determined to be significantly upregulated. However, the autophagy inhibitor 3-methyladenine (3-MA) inhibited the expression of the autophagy-associated protein Beclin-1 and reduced the accumulation of autophagic vacuoles induced by MG-132. MG-132-induced apoptosis was enhanced by the autophagy inhibitor 3-MA, which may be a result of caspase-3 activation in the EC9706 cells. These findings suggest that inhibition of the proteasome can induce autophagy in human ESCC cells, and also increase cell death. This indicates that proteasome inhibitors may be potential novel anti-cancer agents for the adjuvant treatment of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.

RESUMEN

Esophageal schwannoma is a rare tumor among the thoracic diseases. The current study reports the case of a 62-year-old who presented with a 1-month history of dysphasia. A computed tomography scan of the chest revealed a solid mediastinal mass with a maximum diameter of 8 cm, with inhomogeneous enhancement following injection of contrast. The mass was compressing the trachea and esophagus. Subsequent to cisplatin plus fluorouracil infusion and embolization with a gelatin sponge, a standard right-sided posterolateral surgical procedure was performed in the right thorax, with tumor enucleation and mucosal repair. The diagnosis of esophageal schwannoma was confirmed by pathological examination. Microscopic examination revealed spindle cells, with the positive expression of S-100 protein and negative expression results for endothelial membrane antigen and desmin, confirming the diagnosis of esophageal schwannoma.
