RESUMEN

This article presents the results of the introduction of Canadian digital technologies Vytelle GrowSafe in the beef cattle breeding of Kazakhstan to assess Residual Feed Intake (RFI). The experiments were carried out with Qazaq Aqbas Breed in the Privet Farms of North Kazakhstan (Akmola and Pavlodar farms). As part of the ration in Akmola farm for a bull of 350 kg of weight, are contained 77 MJ or 7.6 kg of DM, in Pavlodar farm for a bull weighing 290 kg contains 65 MJ or 6.5 kg of DM. Studies have shown that in the Akmola farm the RFI index ranged from -2.08 to +2.88, in the Pavlodar farm from -1.89 to +2.06. According to the results of research in the Akmola farm, the RFI assessment show, 7 out of 26 bulls are suitable for breeding sale, in the Pavlodar farm out of 55 bulls 18. The assessment of the productive effect of feed on RFI, mainly (by 80%), coincided with the assessment of the ratio of gain to consumed dry matter, and some bulls showed deviations in terms of residual average daily live weight gain and the corrected value of the ratio of feed costs to live weight gain, which led to incomplete manifestation of the productive potential of the consumed feed.

RESUMEN

An analysis of published literature data on the relationship of parasitic diseases and oncogenesis is carried out. Current knowledge about the association of parasitic infections and cancer formation has revealed several carcinogenic mechanisms, but the severity of the relationship between parasites and cancer formation (except for schistosome, opisthorchis and clonorchis) should be confirmed in future experimental and population studies.

RESUMEN

Monitoring of body mass in the dwellers of this or that region is of indisputable value for practical public health. The sample size (n = 1,500) required to study of the prevalence of obesity among the population was calculated in terms of the size of the population of the Republic of Daghestan, by using the well-known formula. The median of age was 27 years, from 14 to 79 years, its mean was 34 years; the standard deviation was 17.4. The distribution of the obtained values of the body mass index did not correspond to the normal values. The median of body mass indices was 23.9 from 13.95 to 50.15 respectively; quartiles (25%:75%) were 21.45:27.56; percentiles (5%:95%) were (18.59 33.98); the mean was 24.87; the standard deviation was 4.83%. Out of the 1,500 examinees, 65 (4.3%) persons had a low body mass; 801 (53.4%) had a normal body mass; and 416 (27.7%) had an excessive one. Obesity was observed in 218 (14.5%) examinees, including first-, second-, and third-degree obesity in 164 (10.9%), 43 (2.9%), and 11 (0.7%) examinees, respectively. There were some differences (statistically insignificant in some cases) in body mass and obesity in relation to the place of residence (a climatic and geographical zone, town-village), gender, and ethnicity.

RESUMEN

The comparative evaluation of the diagnostic value of new cholera eltor bacteriophages ctx+ and ctx-, as well as monophages X[symbol: see text]-3, 4, 5, demonstrated their high activity and specificity. Using of these bacteriophages epidemic potential of 95% Vibrio cholerae eltor strains ctx+ and 84.5% of V. cholerae eltor stains ctx- was determined. Commercial monophages X[symbol: see text]-3, 4, 5 were inferior to bacteriophages ctx+ and ctx- in their diagnostic value: only 55% of strains having gene ctxAB were found to be epidemically dangerous, i.e. 45% of strains capable of causing the disease were not detected. On the basis of the results obtained in this investigation cholera eltor bacteriophages ctx+ and ctx- were recommended for introduction into practical use, while further production of cholera diagnostic monophages X[symbol: see text]-3, 4, 5 was recommended to be stopped.

RESUMEN

8 children with chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura received a high dose therapy with monomeric IgG. Before and after the treatment immunological investigations were carried out. All the children showed a positive clinical response, in 5 children there was an increase of thrombocytes to 111-340 X 10(9)/l. A clinico-haematological effect could be shown in those children with an increased percentage of marrow megakaryocytes with IgG fixed on the membrane before treatment. There was no haematological effect neither in cases with fixed IgG and IgA nor IgM and IgA combined, as well as in the case when there was no fixed IgG on the membrane. A steady clinical effect was provided if the number of bone marrow megakaryocytes with fixed IgG reached the norm. The suppression of the synthesis of antithrombocytic antibodies of the same immunoglobulin class can be regarded as a specific mechanism of high IgG doses.
