RESUMEN

Superoxide is the primary active oxygen form produced in living organisms. Because of superoxide anion radical formation during epinephrine oxidation in alkaline medium, this system is offered in some works for antioxidant activity analysis, however, without enough physicochemical justification. Therefore, the task of developing reliable methods for analyzing the superoxide inhibition activity of various objects is very urgent. In this work, a kinetic model of epinephrine autoxidation in an alkaline medium in the presence of antioxidants of plant origin is proposed. The participation of chain reactions with long oxidation chains in this process is revealed. The limiting stage of the process is a one-electron reduction of oxygen by the anionic forms of the phenolic hydroxyls of epinephrine. The appearance of the absorption maximum at a wavelength of 347 nm during epinephrine autoxidation is associated with adrenolutin formation, which is confirmed by HPLC/UV/MS. No adduct formation between phenolic antioxidants and epinephrine oxidation products was found. The complex U-shaped character of epinephrine autoxidation rate dependence on the content of antioxidants in the reaction system was shown. The study of the kinetics of epinephrine autoxidation in the presence of an individual phenolic plant superoxide inhibitor, chlorogenic acid, was carried out for the first time. The inhibitory effect of yarrow, chamomile, and bur beggar-ticks plant extracts in the adrenaline system was examined.

RESUMEN

In this review, all available publications on the polymerization of all isomers of bifunctional diethynylarenes due to the opening of C≡C bonds were considered and analyzed. It has been shown that with the use of polymers of diethynylbenzene, heat-resistant and ablative materials, catalysts, sorbents, humidity sensors, and other materials can be obtained. Various catalytic systems and conditions of polymer synthesis are considered. For the convenience of comparison, the publications considered are grouped according to common features, including the types of initiating systems. Critical consideration is given to the features of the intramolecular structure of the synthesized polymers since it determines the entire complex of properties of this material and subsequent materials. Branched and/or insoluble polymers are formed as a result of solid-phase and liquid-phase homopolymerization. It is shown that the synthesis of a completely linear polymer was carried out for the first time by anionic polymerization. The review considers in sufficient detail publications from hard-to-reach sources, as well as publications that required a more thorough critical examination. The review does not consider the polymerization of diethynylarenes with substituted aromatic rings because of their steric restrictions; the diethynylarenes copolymers with complex intramolecular structure; and diethynylarenes polymers obtained by oxidative polycondensation.

RESUMEN

The rubber crumbs produced by the explosive circular destruction of worn-out automobile tires were studied. The crumbs showed high hydrophilicity. Their surface was analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. C, O, S, Zn, and Si were detected on the surface, and their chemical states were determined. The same chemical composition in the rubber crumb surface prepared by the explosive grinding of tires, as well as nanoglobules covering the crumb surface, was revealed. The appearance of polar groups on the crumb surface explains its high hydrophilicity and good compatibility with polymer matrices.

RESUMEN

Anionic homo- and copolymerization of p-diethynylbenzene in the presence of n-BuLi in polar solvents was carried out. The use of hexamethylphosphortriamide (HMPA) makes it possible to synthesize a completely linear soluble polymer that does not have branching and phenylene fragments. A copolymer of p-diethynylbenzene with diphenyldiacetylene was synthesized. Homo- and copolymers of p-diethynylbenzene have high thermo- and thermo-oxidative stability. By the interaction of side reactive ethynylphenylene groups with various reagents, it is proposed to synthesize clusters along the conducting chain of poly-p-diethynylbenzene. Due to presenting C≡CH side groups, boron, copper, and cobalt derivatives were synthesized. It is shown that not all theoretically possible stereoisomers can be formed as a result of the polymerization. The application of p-diethynylbenzene polymers for the modification of industrial samples of epoxy novolac resin, oligoester acrylates, and carbon fibers has been demonstrated.

RESUMEN

For the first time, the basics of waste-free technology for capturing heavy metal ions from urban surface runoff from residential areas of the city with the final utilization of the regenerate were developed. The technology eliminates the subsequent contamination of the lithosphere and atmosphere by regeneration products. The expediency of using fibrous chemosorbents (cationic and polyampholyte) for capturing heavy metal ions from urban surface runoff of residential areas of megalopolises has been justified because of possibility of recycling heavy metal ions and regenerating the sorbent. Model solutions of Fe, Cu, Zn, Pb salts, as well as samples of solutions of real surface effluents were studied. Small experimental samples of filters of various designs were designed and manufactured. The filters were tested at a functioning treatment facility. It was demonstrated that the content of Fe3+, Cu2+, Zn2+, and Pb2+ ions in real surface effluents decreased by 1.4-7 times after passing the effluents even through these small experimental filters. The expediency and possibility of recycling the regenerate as inorganic pigments for the paint industry is shown.

RESUMEN

In this study we elucidate antioxidative properties of the mushroom Ganoderma applanatum (Pers.) Pat. enhanced by submerged culture with para-hydroxyphenolic compounds and tea leaf extracts. The tea extract has been shown to increase to different extents the antioxidative efficiency of para-substituted phenolics, with the most profound effect for 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethane-1-ol (tyrosol). Within the range of physiological concentrations, the symbatic correlation of the antioxidative action of the fungal samples with the volume of tea extract in the submerged culture medium was observed. We propose an approach to obtain, through the use of black tea extracts as the nutrient medium component, large amounts of G. applanatum seeding mycelia; the extract exerts a profound positive effect on the level of phenolic-type antioxidants.
