This work considers the relationship between and aging, shedding light on this subjective value and enumerating the paradigms that link the cult of the body and the esthetics in social relations. It engages the concept of beauty by analyzing techniques used to maintain, and several presentations of, beauty during peoples lives. From this perspective, the opinions of those considered elderly in Brazil, i.e., those above 60 years of age, are essential to an understanding of the meaning of beauty over our life spans.AU
