RESUMEN

The range of anthelmintics was studied at the first stage of marketing research. It has shown that there is a small number of their synonyms, a wide range of manufacturing countries, and a predominance of anthelmintics as tablets. Import anthelmintics have been prevalent on the market. However, there is a tendency for the share of anthelminitics made in Russia to increase, which will provide an indubitable economic effect while making health-promoting measures and supporting Russian pharmaceutical industry.

RESUMEN

Our study has shown that after single administration of its substance or its polymer formulation, medamine rapidly absorbs into blood, by penetrating into the host's viscera and tissues and parasitic larvocysts and excretes from the experimental animals' body at hour 24. Examining the distribution of medamine in the viscera and tissues has revealed that it penetrates into the rat viscera and tissue with blood and accumulated in the tissues. At the same time medamine given as a substance accumulates more in the excretory organs and medapec retains in the muscle tissue and brain longer. Medapec shows higher maximum concentrations at lower values of the pharmacokinetic curve area. Noticeable accumulation of medamine in the larvocysts of experimental animals confirms its chemotherapeutical activity.

RESUMEN

The investigations have indicated a great influence of pharmaceutical factors on the pharmacokinetics of tegalide. The agent as tablets has a higher bioavailability than its substance. The high bioavailability of tegalide tablets appears to be associated with the presence of auxiliaries in them, which enhance the magnitude of the agent's absorption. Differences in the shelf lives of tablets affect their bioavailability. In this connection, the shelf life must be limited in terms of the pharmacological data presented.

RESUMEN

The impact of the new helminthicide Tegalide, a dibromobenzamide derivative, on its pharmacology was investigated. The agent given as a fine-dispersed form was found to be more intensively absorbed by the body and to be in animals' blood for a longer period of time (MRT fine-dispersed and MVR coarse-dispersed were 88.5 and 50.4 hours, respectively). As the fine-dispersed fraction of Tegalide increased, its bioavailability showed an equivalent increase.

RESUMEN

Pharmacokinetic studies of a new anthelminthic tegalid, made in this country, were carried out. The drug concentrations in biologic material were measured by high-pressure liquid chromatography. The drug was found to circulate for a rather long time in the blood, virtually not accumulating in any of the examined organs, except the liver. Tegalid pharmacokinetics can be fairly well approximated by a unicompartmental model with due consideration for its absorption.

RESUMEN

Conditions were selected for the extraction of tegalid, a new anthelmintic agent. A method for measurement of tegalide in biologic material, making use of high-pressure liquid chromatography, has been developed and experimentally tried. The method was found highly selective, sensitive and accurate and is recommended for experimental and clinical pharmacokinetic studies.

RESUMEN

Feasibility of quantitative determination of a new helminthicide prasiquantel as a substance by spectral and chemical analytic procedures has been investigated. Chemical methods based on nitrogen measurement in the samples were shown to lack precision which is obligatory for drug analysis. The quantitative analytic procedures based on UV spectrophotometry are of low precision and selectivity. Infrared spectroscopy is the only method of prasiquantel assay that meets the requirements for drug substance measurement.
