RESUMEN

This research uses social identity theory to propose that environmental social responsibility perceptions influence green commitment, and then influence pro-environmental behaviors, which are moderated by institutional pressure. Data were collected from 100 employees of technology firms in Taiwan, and the results support all hypotheses. This research chose technology firms as empirical data because Taiwan's technological level is known to the world, which can reduce sampling errors caused by the lack of environmental knowledge. Finally, this research not only advances the literature on sustainability issues in organizational management but also provides a paradigm to help firms implement pro-environmental behaviors to achieve competitive advantage and sustainable development goals.

RESUMEN

Energy is one of the critical factors for economic growth, and carbon emissions are by-products of energy use that degrade environmental quality. This research thus establishes an index of eco-output elasticity of energy consumption to find an eco-friendly production stage in which not only output increases, but also energy consumption degrades. Our observation subject is China, which employs its own energy intensity index to monitor the nexus of economy, energy, and environment. While its energy intensity index is unable to point out the eco-friendly production stage, the index of eco-output elasticity of energy consumption herein does. This paper offers three main empirical findings on China: (i) it presents an eco-friendly production stage from 2012 to 2013; (ii) it has better improvement on energy savings than CO2 reduction; and (iii) in general, its status quo is still high energy consumption, but this phenomenon is improving.

RESUMEN

This article proposes a moderated mediation model of emotional dissonance. In the model, emotional leadership negatively affects emotional dissonance, which, in turn, negatively affects helping behavior. Furthermore, the negative effect of emotional dissonance is assumed to be moderated by work-family conflict. Direct effects from both emotional leadership and work-family conflict to helping other behavior are also considered. Previous studies have neglected the mechanism of emotional dissonance, but this paper fills the gap with a moderated mediation model of emotional dissonance. This article not only provides an incremental contribution to the emotional dissonance literature but also suggests means by which companies might enhance employe helping behaviors in order to achieve greater organizational efficiency.

RESUMEN

With the popularity of financial technology (fintech) chatbots equipped with artificial intelligence, understanding the user's response mechanism can help bankers formulate precise marketing strategies, which is a crucial issue in the social science field. Nevertheless, the user's response mechanism towards financial technology chatbots has been relatively under-investigated. To fill these literature gaps, latent growth curve modeling was adopted by the present research to survey Taiwanese users of fintech chatbots. The present study proposed a customer continuance model to predict continuance intention for fintech chatbots and that cognitive and emotional dimensions positively influence the growth in a user's attitude toward fintech chatbots, which in turn, positively influences continuance intention over time. In total, 401 customers of fintech chatbots were surveyed through three time points to examine the relationship between these variables over six months. The results support the theoretical model of this research and can advance the literature of fintech chatbots and the information technology adoption model.

RESUMEN

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α (PPARα) is a nuclear hormone receptor that transcriptionally regulates lipid metabolism and inflammation; therefore, PPARα agonists are promising agents to treat dyslipidemia and metabolic disorders. PPARα full agonists, such as fibrates, are effective anti-hypertriglyceride agents, but their use is limited by adverse side effects. Hence, the aim of this study was to identify small molecules that can activate PPARα while minimizing the adverse effects. Antrodia cinnamomea, a rare medical mushroom, has been used widely in Asian countries for the treatment of various diseases, including liver diseases. Antcin B, H and K (antcins) and ergostatrien-3ß-ol (EK100) are bioactive compounds isolated from A. cinnamomea with anti-inflammatory actions. Antcins, ergostane-type triterpenoids, contain the polar head with carboxylate group and the sterol-based body. Here, we showed at the first time that sterol-based compounds, antcins, but not EK100, activate PPARα in a cell-based transactivation study. The in silico docking studies presented several significant molecular interactions of antcins, including Tyr314, and His440 in the ligand-binding domain of PPARα, and these interactions are required for helix 12 (H12) stabilization. We propose that PPARα activation activity of antcins is related to their binding mode which requires conventional H12 stabilization, and that antcins can be developed as safe selective PPARα modulators.

RESUMEN

The incidence of cystic lesions of anterior mediastinum is low, which is responsible for approximately 10% of anterior mediastinal tumors. We presented a special case of primary anterior mediastinal tumor with both prominent cystic change and extreme high carbohydrate antigen 19-9 level of cystic fluid here. From the finding of this case report, we suggested that the diagnosis of cystic anterior mediastinal tumors should include both cystic seminoma and mature cystic teratoma.

RESUMEN

Ectopic hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is very rarely reported. It may occur at various sites. To the best of our knowledge, only one case of ectopic HCC of the diaphragm has been reported. We present another such case with invasion to the lung. Subtotal resection of the left hemidiaphragm, wedge resection of the lung (left lower lobe), and splenectomy were undertaken. Postoperative course was unremarkable; the patient received two courses of adjuvant chemotherapy with cisplatin, VP-16, and bleomycin 1 month later. Follow-up computed tomography and ultrasound were performed 8 months later; there was no local recurrence or distal metastasis.
