RESUMEN

The aim of our investigation was to examine the mechanisms of protective features of plaferon LB and fenovit in mice infected with Rausche virus. It was found that in erythroblasts from peripheral blood and spleen, which appeared 12-14 days after infection, the highest percent of determined virus antigens was approximately 47% (range 35,5 to 58,4) which was followed by decrease of the concentration of virus antigens (between 5-12%) in following days and increase of uninfected cells as a result of division of non-contaminated erythroblasts. Mechanism of action of plaferon LB and fenovit was manifested in the reconstitution of mechanisms of apoptosis among erythroblasts, which did not contain synthesized Rausche virus. Impairment of functional activity and antivirus resistance of macrophagal phagocytes are playing an important role not only in the pathogenesis of murine viral leukemia caused by Rausche virus, but also during human leukemia. Correction of functional status of above -- mentioned diseases using plaferon LB and fenovit is presenting as a new and prospective way.

RESUMEN

Exacerbation of genital herpes simplex is followed by suppression of immunocompetence of patients. This proves necessity of adjuvant immunocorrective therapy. In our previous investigations it was shown that plaferon LB possessed immunotropic effect, and phenowine (as an antioxidant remedy) was intensifying the action of plaferon. These data allow us to examine protective action of plaferon and phenowine in complex treatment of genital herpes. High-performance scheme of herpetic relapse was suggested, which was established on aetiotropic effect of acyclovir and immunomodulating action of plaferon and phenowine: satisfactory outcome in 92,1 percent (monotherapy with acyclovir--70,7%). Results of complex therapy appeared in reduction of period of acute infection (on average 2,3 days) and in prolongation of remission (on average 157,3 days, vs 88,5 days in control group). Therapeutic action was achieved by antiviral properties of acyclovir and plaferon, immunostimulating action of plaferon and antioxidant effect of phenowine.

RESUMEN

Thermophilic clones of lymphoblastoid cell cultures Namalwa were generated and found to be capable of life and reproduction at a temperature of 60 degrees C. The reproductive dynamics, cytology, and ultrastructure of these clones were studied.

RESUMEN

The antiproliferative activity of placenta interferons (amniotic, chorional) prepared at the Institute of Experimental Morphology, Academy of Sciences of the Georgian SSR, was studied. Amniotic interferon was found to be most active in tumor cell cultures of human origin. Placenta interferons showed lower antiproliferative activity in continuous monkey and hamster kidney cell cultures and primary human embryo fibroblast cultures.

RESUMEN

The results of the study on the influence of remantadine on the course of experimental influenza infection in mice with immunity suppressed by cyclophosphamide are presented. Mice treated with cyclophosphamide were shown to have a more severe course of influenza infection. Remantadine, as an effective chemotherapeutic drug, decreased mortality rates in all the treated groups of the animals.
